Aargh! Shouldn't have bought that Ken and Barbie 2-pack. Apparently, the dolls in Toy Story 3 are based on specific Ken and Barbie dolls, right down to their outfits, and so the originals are waaaay more accurate. Just check them out on Ebay or search images of them. It's Animal Lovin' Ken and Great Shape Barbie. Man, that stinks! I'm sure the demand for those two is going to go up now too... Well, maybe someday I'll replace my modern versions with the originals. I knew they had an '80's look to their head sculpts... Clothing is way more accurate too and less flashy. Oh, well. Should be checking Toys R Us Wednesday or Thursday for Bullseye...

Good luck finding Animal Lovin' Ken. Apparently Pixar has been silently buying any and all Animal Lovin Ken's that come up on ebay for the past 2 1/2 years, because they knew there was going to be a demand for them after TS3.

Also Great Shape Barbie actually wears the same outfit as TS3 Barbie, but in different colors, so the TS3 tie-n doll is more like the movie one than the 80's doll.

I think it's a royalties issue.

Anybody know of an online retailer that sells the Toy Story Collection in Canada?

Thus far I've been able to find Buzz, Woody and the Bucket o' Soldiers at Wal-Mart and Lotso at Zellers. I REALLY want the Aliens though and Jessie and Bullseye would be welcome additions too, but the Aliens are priority right now.

Also does anybody know of a Toy Story accurate version of Mr. Potato Head outside of the Toy Story Collection (which I refuse to buy due to it not being an actual Mr. Potato Head)?

I have to disagree with this one since I have the TS3 one. In the movie and in the original, her suit isn't a shiny material. To me it looks more like the original doll in the film, but check the doll out on Ebay, because the colors look more like the film there than in the toy commercials. Also, the '80s dolls have different faces than the current dolls, and the ones in the film are clearly based on the '80s dolls.

BUt that's crazy about the Ken, and so uncool. I can believe it though, since when you search on Ebay you can only find outfits for the Animal Lovin' Ken, not the doll itself (I did see the Barbie though). But, there have to be people out there who haven't posted their Kens on Ebay yet, so unless PIXAR is watching every second, there is sure to be one that comes up now and then. Sadly, I'm too broke to try for these right now, but it still makes me wish I hadn't bought the TS3 versions.

Oh, and awesome commercials post, bruno_wbt!

About Animal Lovin' Ken, I did check out eBay a few days ago and found him bundled with Animal Lovin' Barbie and another character. The bidding was at around $250 but the Buy It Now was around $275. (Yikes!) So yeah, you can just keep checking on eBay to see if he pops up there again.

I wanna get the collector's edition of Buzz and Woody! But my parents will think of it as a waste, since I have a Buzz and Woody, but those are from the 90s!

These new editions.... they look very unique. Perhaps I can get them for my baby brother for his birthday. He is turning 6 next month and loves Toy Story. :)

i found buzz today. he was hidden in an aisle and not really visible on an endcap [there were two on a cap, but not easily seen amongst the other ts3 toys on it.] so there were 6 in total. i took ages picking out the very best, which wasnt easy with all of them having small smudges of paint.
he was rather pricey at $140, so i put him on layaway. i also spent $6 on a plastic crate to protect him a bit as ive seen the room they put layaways and it aint pretty. and figuring that, i was glad they didnt put the wings on the actual box.

he was a nice surprise as i went in to get the blu rays [not out yet. dangit!] and then checked the thomas and cars stuff [my main collections] and followed a hunch to check out toy story, just in case.

i am hoping against hope that the other TSC toys will appear over here.

$140?? Jeepers! That's pretty pricey, for a Buzz Lightyear! :(

Woohoo! Got Bullseye today! He's really neat! I got the only one my Toys R Us had today! Though I'd love the original Ken and Barbie pair instead of the current versions I DID get, and though I wouldn't mind getting Mr. Mike and maybe a few others someday (I DID get an Etch recently, what a flashback to my childhood), I can still say I finally got all the ones I wanted badly from the Toy Story collection series. Not that I wouldn't be open to getting more. Would really love Mrs. Potato Head, and it'd be nice to have a proper scale Lenny, or the impossible dream, an authentic Bo Peep lamp, but I'm really happy just to have Buzz, Woody, Jessie, Bullseye, RC, Rex, Potato Head, the Army Men, Hamm, the Aliens, and the supplements of less authentic Slink, Ken, Barbie, Etch, the Kids' Meal Lenny, and Woody's Guitar!

By the way, that's awesome PrincePhilipFan! It's neat to think that Ken can now be lined up with the Disney princes as a true Disney prince of sorts, and he even looks like a true part of the group. Funny how people didn't used to like Ken, and they probably will all love him from now on. Though, of course, I haven't seen the film yet, but in the commercials he seems like a very likeable new character.

LOL, those old Barbie ads! I loved when the little girl in the first one said, "Love your leg-warmers!" They must have seen that ad when they wrote Ken's line!

Now that I'm quite satisfied with my Toy Story collection (though I'd like the ORIGINAL Barbie and Ken, ha, and I still want Mrs. Potato Head to come out and would love a proper Lenny and a real Bo Peep lamp, and though I still would like to get Lotso, and if they make him, Stinky Pete, and Zurg too,... and I'll probably get Mr. Mike someday...), I gathered my group together and took the best pics I can at the moment with my shoddy camcorder and minimal display space. I just added RC to the group by stacking some stuff and putting him on top. Yeah, there's Bullseye's box there, but I'm not keeping it. I just haven't had a chance to throw it out yet. I am only keeping the guitar in its box since all the other boxes say Toy Story on them. Though, if Stinky Pete comes out, when I finally get him I'll keep him boxed probably, and someday I might get a utility belt Buzz and keep him boxed too (it would also be tempting to keep Lotso boxed if I get him, and I wouldn't open any other Woody's Roundup stuff probably, like if they do come out with the harmonica). Now, I really need to get the out of print Woody's RoundUp CD to listen to when I admire my collection, ha. I hope this stuff is okay staying in my room after I move to my sister's in Austin next week. I'll come back for it when I find a job and we get a bigger apartment. I may take the guitar, Woody, Jessie and Bullseye with me from the beginning though, as much as I hate to break up the group.

I wonder if they are going to make any more from the "Toy Story Collection." Mrs. Potato Head, Slinky and Hamm would be obvious.

Maybe some from 1 & 2 since they did RC even though he's not in 3.
