Thanks, Mike!
I guess I should've clarified. I didn't screencap every frame, just a frame from every shot. So every trailer, TV spot, featurette, and film clip that came out, I'd take a cap of each shot I found. I did this by saving the videos off of YouTube (using the sites SaveTube and Keep-Tube). Then I opened the videos up on Quicktime, found the exact frames I wanted to cap, then went to "file" and "copy." I'd paste the caps in Paint and save them as jpgs.
I saved them all in a file folder and arranged them in chronological order the best I could to get a good idea of the whole film. I ended up with 341 caps. I was tempted to take the shots and lines from all the videos and edit them together chronologically into a super trailer/mini movie, but I figured it was too much work. I've seen it done to good effect with other films like
Prince Caspian and
Watchmen.
I also saved every promotional image released (concept art, production stills, portraits, etc.). I ended up with a sizable collection of stills, but almost all of them appear in my nifty Visual Companion book, so I'll probably delete them all. It's sad that I learn more about the film from that book than I do from watching the BD supplements.
Fairfarren is Outlandish for "Good-bye." Outlandish is the language the Hatter speaks besides English, most notably heard when he starts raving at the Cheshire Cat. He whispers it to Alice when they say goodbye, but because he only says it briefly one other time (at the end of the tea party), everyone I watch it with asks what he's whispering to her.
And I just got really, really lucky with the Alice screenplay. I visited imdb's board for the film every day, and one day someone was willing to give out the first 32 pages, asking nothing in return. I sprang at the chance, and later, someone else did the same thing for the entire script. I don't know how it ended up online. Apparently screenplays get leaked all the time, but 9 times out of 10, whoever has it is only willing to give it up if you've got another screenplay to trade. I just got lucky that the people holding Alice were just really generous. IMDb is definitely the place to go to keep an eye out for those, though.
Have you watched the animated Alice, yet?
