Thanks! :) I just looked at a bunch of smileys for inspiration on the size and features and worked teeny in with Photoshop to come up with my own. After I created something I liked, I duplicated the smiley but altered the eyes so they were closed. I then took ImageReady and inserted the two separate smileys as frames so I could animate the blinking. Image

You'd think they'd be willing to help you, considering they're so popular.
While I'm flattered you'd consider me popular, there a lot of bigger artists within the community that humble me. In the end popularity shouldn't matter anyway; all members should be treated the same. The only way I can really protest what I see happening is to choose not to pay for a premium subscription (regular membership is free and is what I currently have). Whether or not I'll post art there again remains to be seen, but come to think of it I'll probably cave in and go back. Despite the issues with the staff, there are still a lot of great members within the community. :)

See, the thing is that many members agree deviantArt has just gotten way too big. It's pretty obvious some of the staff members have begun to use impersonal mouse clicks to handle any questionable situation as a quick cure-all. One of my friends got suspended for reporting spam that appeared on his page. Seriously, that's all he did . . . "spam" was the only word of explanation given in the form-letter letter that came with the punishment. Since they obviously suspended him instead of the actual spammer by mistake, he notified them of it. Making a mistake is understandable of course, but he was never given any kind of response over it. No apology or even so much as an explanation when it was finally taken care of.

Crazy.
I sorta meant the site is popular, but you should be a big one there too. Though, it is too bad there's no real regulation over there.

Sadly, unlike #47, this doesn't sound like a conversation. But it's two things I wanted to WIST in one WIST, and so I did...

WIST #48:
Sunny Wing: Before we realized how important movie snacks were, poor Snow White was having issues with her own cover.
UmbrellaFish: "The"! What a classic! It deserves to win this game!!!!!!!!
WIST #60:
AwallaceUNC: Would you prefer Substi-Blu-tiary Locomotion? :p

WIST #61:
TheSequelOfDisney: Damn, did Lin-Manuel Miranda go and murder all your families?

Image

And a new WIST as well. It's by Wondy and is actually an image he posted, but since I can't post the image, I posted the text...

WIST #49:
Floyd Norman's Picture: Last Tangled in Paris
Polizzi: That's disturbing.
Wondy (via image): Pot Meets Kettle...
Pot: You're Black as SH&$!!!!
Kettle: Look who's talking genius...

We're getting closer to WIST #50! 50! I wonder who'll say those magic words...

Florida Orange Bird had to go...

To make room for WIST #50! 50!

WIST #50: (actual)
Brends: Well, I'm hardly saying I'm holding my breath until I can say it, just that in a few years we can all mope about how "Robin Hood" was released on Blu-ray for the second time but has yet to receive a 4-D Green-ray disc treatment complete with Ultra Sensory Environs (you can really smell the poor...).

Wire Hanger: As for Ultra Sensory Environs (featuring Smell-O-Vision) Robin Hood Brenders, I can't wait to find out what wet fox fur, medieval era sanitation, over-crowded prison cells and recycled animation smell like myself.

Margos: Oh, the recycled animation will be super-easy to spot, since scents like orangutan, bananas, stray cat, dwarves, and delicious German soup will waft through the air when it really doesn't make sense for them to do so.

WIST #50: (edited)

Just google the name of the cartoon in my signature and you will find out quickly. Or better Jet you can wind this on Cronological Donald vol 2 or on ON Front lines.
Der Fuehrer's Face is the greatest Donald Duck cartoon ever made.

That's great! :P  See, Fox, Julie has the power to bring in ratings!

There's also a group to get Julie AND Carol Burnett on the show which would be awesome, too, at least if we never get a fourth special.

My new siggy is courtesy of freakypencils at Deviantart, featuring a modern look at the Greek Gods. From left to right: Apollo, Artemis, Dionysus, Ares, Aphrodite, Athena, and Hermes.

You know, watching the sig gave me the idea for an animated sitcom: Gods Among Men. The characters would be average people, but would have the personalities of the Greek gods, and their stories would be modern day adaptations.

Hmmm...

Funny enough, one of my dreams is to create an adult animated sitcom that's not a Simpsons/Family Guy rip-off and very, VERY different from anything Adult Swim has created.

If you guys allow me to go off-topic for a sec, I have a series of semi-biographical stories featuring a diverse cast of characters. Since I plan on doing this as a book series first, the animated version would take into consideration this fact. You guys know how Disney used the Xerox process in movies like 101 Dalmatians and The Jungle Book? The beauty of that technique is that it gave the animation a nice, sketch come to life feel that is pleasing and fun (though at times very dirty). My idea for the look for the show would be an updated version of the Xerox process, though instead of very broad lines the effect would be subtle, but would still convey a feeling of a book illustration come to life. The backgrounds would be hand painted (yes hand painted) similarly to how the backgrounds in 101 Dalmatians were created (as in they were an extension of the Xerox process).

My biggest issue with adult animation is that shows very rarely take advantage of the medium. You either get something that is so basic that it looks like a child created it or something that is very dull, lifeless and boring. Take a look at King of the Hill. I love the show, but I won't deny that the animation and design is bad. The characters are so bland it makes me wonder why they went with animation in the first place.

My take on this would include character designs that feel realistic (something King of the Hill tried to do), but at the same time would give it a very vivid, lively animated aesthetic that makes the characters unique and fun to watch. My stories are part of the "magical realism" literary movement in which reality is conveyed in such a way that its magical, but at the same time is real (like the sunset, for example).

Animation can do great things for stories, but very few people are taking advantage of it. Lord knows I wish to break this trend.

As for Gods Among Men, the pitch would be "What would happen if the Greek Gods were average, modern day people, but still retained their personalities and stories that made them fascinating characters in the first place?".

What do you think, Tim? Would you watch this show?
