Hmm, I am wondering about getting that Barbie. I always regretted not getting Tour Guide Barbie, but I'm wondering how accurate that one and this new one are to the film versions... I would like one or the other, probably not both. Then again, I don't think either are "Any's Room" toys either... In fact, that's another reason I don't feel desperate to get the upcoming Teddy Bear... Anyone have in opinion on which Barbie would make the most sense in a Toy Story collection if you had to choose one? I don't really want to have two. Then again, I suppose you have to see Toy Story 3 to get a good opinion of the new one.

Anywho, anyone seen anything new out there? With the Woody's Guitar out, I was thinking the harmonica might be out too. I wouldn't know where to look for that, though, if it comes out at all. I HAVE been thinking I will try to get Slink this weekend if they have any at my local Disney Store. Though, I'm wondering if there is any difference between the Disney Store version and the ones they sometimes have at places like Target, as it's probably more expensive at the Disney Store.

Oh, and by the way, for those who didn't know, I have posted my original Woody for sale in my Trade thread, and my original Buzz, though his wings don't pop out anymore (no idea why, as he was just a display piece), and if I land Bullseye and Jessie before I move, I might post my old ones for sale there too. As for my Christmas Buzz and Woody, inaccurate as they are, I still plan to keep them for my holiday displaying.

I finally got a screwdriver to start shortening the legs. this is what I have so far. He's just sitting on his legs right now, in this state he is reversable.



However, its harder to balance him this way than I thought, so I will definitely be shortening the legs and re attaching the shoes soon too. after that there's no going back. I need to figure out how much I should cut...

Couldn't resist. Was at the Disney Store today and had to pick up Slink! I unpackaged him already and I intend to remove his string soon from between his eyes. I'll fill in the hole with some sort of spackle and paint. Best way I am skilled at to do it.

The legs, are they attatched to that curved piece, and screw in to the feet?

Yes, to remove the shoes you unscrew the triwing screws on the bottom of them, remove the bottom plates making them hollow, and remove 2 additional screws (one per foot) and they pop right off the legs. The legs are permanently fixed to the curved piece.

Looks like you may be able to trim the legs off, dont even have to be perfect cuts, closest to the curved part. And using a dremel, cut holes in the actual curved part for those tubes to rest in, shortening the legs, and also making them removable.



Could work. Looking at it, thats what I'll do to mine.

Hmm, sounds good in theory, but I'm not sure that would work. wouldn't cutting holes large enough for the legs to fit through in the curved piece detach it from the...um, stem? I don't know what to call it.

I was going to try and simply cut it from the bottom and gluing the feet back onto the newly shortened legs, but it would be cool if I could make them removable somehow.

Edit: wait, are you keeping the electronics in mind?

Yes, what I was talking about was cutting the legs, thats the red line I drew in. Once those are cut off, set them to the side, and start to work on the curved part. You'll want to get the stumps flush with the curve. Then, using a drill bit or drill bit, the same diameter as his "legs" (the posts attatched to his shoes), drill to holes, where Imarked in grey, in the cylinder piece. Then the legs can be pushed in, snug, or removed.

Cut the legs off as close to the curved part as possible, or use a jewelrs saw because they can cut in angles.

Do not drill past that curved lip, because those beveled edges on that piece is what keeps it support as its a flat piece (I'm assuming)

Right, its just that your grey markings go past the curved lip, which threw me off a bit.

The legs taper outward the closer it gets to the feet, so wont they have to be slimed down before I can cut the holes into the curved piece? otherwise I wouldnt be able to get them to fit into the new holes.

I think I'll start trying this tomorrow.

If the legs taper, that is even better, they'll just be more easy to remove, put on, once the process is done.

Measure the legs at the midway mark, once you cut them off. Remember to be and sure measure, because you want the hole to be snug and flush with the legs so it makes the conversion "feel real" once complete.

Edit: and the reason the markings are so crappy, is because I suck at ms paint, hahah. I do with all photo programs.
But be sure not to cut into that lip, as its a support. Take your time with it if needed so its worth it in the long run.

Got my replacement Woody today. I sent my last one back because the eye paint was sloppy. Wow, the eye paint is perfect now! Better than any of the ones Ive seen in person. The collar isn't stitched as nicely (as in sharply), but that's a trade off I can live with. Its also missing some paint on the hair line, but maybe I can fix this later...

They also sent me a new hat for some reason, which is nice.

I notice the vest is sewn down in the front near the bottom, did it always used to be like that? Because my old one didn't seem to have anything except 2 on the shoulders. How do they expect me to pull out his voice box to switch modes without pulling these 2 stitching's out anyway?

Heres my collection as it stands now (this isnt their permanent location, as I no longer have room to display them all in one spot).

I used a piece of wire from Mr. potatohead's packaging to fashion a a holder that goes under his arms. Im not using the neck damaging holder anymore.

And no I still havnt tried to shorten Mr. P's legs yet if anyone's wondering.

Jessie and Lotso are now available for preorder on Disneystore's site, with new pics of them and their packaging. they wont be shipping til June 1st, but should be on shelves starting tomorrow.

Sweet! How do you know they'll be on shelves tomorrow? I'm tempted to go right now.
Thank goodness I waited and figured out the right height is 13" and not 15" like the non-talking one...but I wish there was a non-talking one at 13" so it would not be so expensive.
