Well Hamm's voice was there.....not as Hamm mind you but as himself called a Lucky Charm.....I wonder if Pixar is next going to go cukku for Cocoa Puffs or admire General Mills or get a silly Rabbitslave2moonlight wrote:Really? Wow, I'm amazed no one's been talking about them! Am I the only one who loves these? Great pics, thanks for the links.
If I get the harmonica, I'll definitely keep it on the card. The Guitar I'm undecided on if I will unpackage it or not. Sad that there's no Hamm anywhere...

I kinda wish they'd find a way to bring the prospector back for toy story 3. not because it would make the movie any better (I think its probably best his character stay wrapped up in TS2) but it would make the chances of seeing a TSC release much higher. so far they haven't made any characters that wont be back in some way. Not being in TS3 is probably the only thing making them hesitant to release a stinky Pete.
though it just occurred to me utilitybelt buzz most likely wont be back in TS3 either...but you have to consider all the work is done for them already, they only need to make small adjustments.

If these coupons work the way I want them to (see the blu ray thread) I should be able to buy both the Toy Story blu rays and still be able to afford Rex come next Tuesday (through Amazon of course). If not I'll have to sell some stuff on eBay first.
Either way I hope to be able to order him soon. I haven't added anything new from the TSC in a while now...
Worse case scenario I guess I can still just buy the Aliens, still need those as well.

I also went on a Mr P search today in Savannah GA, no luck though.
ALTHOUGH, I did stop by Target and they had the "Karate Chop" 12" Buzz, and 12" "semi less accurate" woody on Clearance for $12 each, there were alot of each. Also the new boxed, but still shitty, slinky dog was half off as well, at $7.48. So Check your Targets. (The 12" "non-collection" woody and buzz, are still pretty damn cool in they're own way, and for $12, its a perfect kids gift (or adult!))
I'm currently working on sculpting an ACCURATE Slinky Dog, so I should have pictures by this weekend. The TS Slink came BEFORE the newly designed slinky dog, and they never got it right. The slinky dog in the movie was based off the original slinky dog pull dogs, which looked like this:
(bottom left)
Then, Jamestown put out this after Toy Story came out:

And we've had only that ever since.
In Toy Story, Slinky was designed as a wooden "1 of a kind" Thats why he looks wooden, and has no seam lines as the other plastic toys do.
So thats what I've been sculpting, using an actual Slinky for scale, as well as thecurrent slinky dog for scale. It will have:
leather ears, not faux
Jointed feet (at ankles), with wheels
and my favorite: a custom sound chip with a few Jim Varney phrases.
The parts themselves will have seams out of the mold (doing the sculpt in clay, silicone molds, and urethane resin-plastic castings) but I will sand them away. His legs will be the correct size, etc. So that way FINALLY, his damn slinky can sag like it does in the film, and with the added weight of making the castings solid, it will STAY in position.
If thats a success, I'll do a Bo Peep. (And possibly that robot, with fellow member Kyle).
And with the Mr. Potato head, I plan on doing a silicone pour of his current eyes, do a clay pour into that, and correct those mother F's to where they should be, SEPERATE. And with the 2 eye holes already on Mr. P's body, it will be easy as hell. That alone will make him look near %100 to the movie. (eyebrows seperate too, adjustable via self tack backing)
I'm sure the feet issue can be solved too, even making them seperate, removable. No need for the electronic BS, really, as most of us ARE collectors and not children. IE: Rex. Should've JUST been hard plastic, no sound, etc. I would've paid the same $40 for the TSC REX if it were hard plastic as in the movie, and ZERO sounds. Cheap looking, but not actually in materials and sophistication with movement (Jaw, etc) which is and should've been possible on the REX we all got.
If I sound like I'm nit picky, it's because I am. Pixar has the ability to give thinkway the computer files, and print DIRECTLY the characters, and every detail etc. They call them "replicas" but they're far from what they could be with some TLC, luckily, as thinkway DID put out great product. I'm happy as hell to see these. If you think I'm nitpicky, then imagine how I felt in 95 when they SUPER crap TS product was out, hahaha. But, all joking aside, not everyone can get a toy, let alone, several, so I'm always thankful when I do.
I look forward to LOTSO Bear! Also, the old "phone" in TS3, can be found at most Targets in the "classic toys" section. Its a must have hahah. I remember my little brother playing with one as a kid.

Yes Sir, exactly that. Will have new sculpted tip based off the slink toy for scale. The "ass" portion, I'm reworking from the toy, as its the correct size, and shape, only I will be omitting the gaps etc, closing holes, reworking that way, to make a solid cast to support the weight of the Slinky itself to droop properly (in the film).
The express I'm sculpting is neutral, but the head can pop off so I could make a different expression head down the road.
The electronic chip I'm debating. I just hate electronics in shit that isnt so, so I cant be a hypocrite, hahah.
I'm approaching it like I would any other replica, so I'm hoping it comes out what I have in mind.

So, I really don't think the Potato Heads are out yet. I went to Toys R us today, and no dice, and there aren't any on Ebay yet. Ebay is a good way to find that out.
I haven't checked the Disney Store though. Too hard for me to make it across town to the mall before it closes... and it's ridiculously packed every weekend.

Whoops! I take that back! One just posted on Ebay! And they want 100 dollars for it! Jeez, I hope they don't cost that much in stores! Well, I didn't see any at Target either, but I'm going to Wal-Mart tomorrow probably. I wonder if they would have him (though I haven't seen any TSC stuff there yet). Is anything else supposed to come out at the same time as Potato Head? I'm looking for that Woody's Roundup Guitar too...
Their 50 bucks, that ebayer is just trying to cash in on how rare he is at the moment.
And yes, their out, but that doesnt mean every store has gotten them in. it'll be a while before they make their way to all states/stores. Just be patient.
It can take as much as 6 weeks for the rest of the stores in the Us to get them in.
And while I dont think Mr. p will come in the same shipment as the rest of the wave 3 toys, they shouldnt be far behind I think. I think woody and buzz were about 3 weeks apart. but different stores will get them at different times, and different quantities. they have limited shelf space remember.
