Yeah, I would just as well rather have all the extras together with one big play button. One big documentary or something. I guess they think it looks like more that way, but... I especially hate having to keep clicking the "next" button when checking out the art galleries. I love 'em, but couldn't the galleries just play as a video? If I want to see something longer, I'll just pause it.Escapay wrote:I'm sure there was likely a TP2 on the drawing board as a direct-to-video title. After all, the original film went out of print for awhile back in 2005, only to go back in print. Perhaps they pulled it in order to re-release it with a sequel, which was canceled later on, so they simply put it back on the market since it's a pretty good disc (though I would have loved one longform documentary rather than segmented pieces of one).

I'm kinda glad "A Few Good Ghosts/Angel and Her No-Good Sister/Whatever Else It Was" got axed...it looked like a Toy Story wannabe. Plus, "Uncle Stiltskin" and "You Don't Know Jack About the Beanstalk" sound very Shrek-y, so I can't be too sad that I'll never see them, either.
But I would like "Lady of the Lake", "Don Quixote", "The Snow Queen", and "Just So Stories"...I wonder if they'll ever show up again.

You only just found out about the Tinkerbell movie? Well, it's a bit late to be her voice. They are going to use Brittany Murphy. I'm way psyched about this, though it will be computer animated, direct to video, and Tink will talk. What you're missing is that all those other sequels have supposedly been canceled now, at least the direct-to-video ones. Only one I think they are still planning to make is the Tinkerbell Movie. I wonder if they will change their minds and send it to the big screen!QueenRahel wrote:how excitinga tinkerbell movie!!! i guess shell have to speak up then and have some lines!!!??? not be a silent char.!!!??? i want to be her voice!!! hopefully it wont be too babish for little little girls only...and an emperors newer groove will be awesome since thats one of my favs for disney comedys....gotta love kronk...handsome and dumb!
Now, I think they could make a gorgeous Tink movie without having her talk, but I suppose not that many other folks would like it. I'm totally in love with Tink though. Her and Ariel.

Except Chantacleer would of been ten times better than Rock A Doodle ever could be.Fidget1234 wrote:They also cancelled 'Chantacleer' which is the same story as Rock-A-Doodle.
Yea actually I've read that one of the concept designs was too dark that the producers got really worried and canceled the project.[/b]MagicMirror wrote:I was very interested in the 'Don Qixote' idea. It seemed to me that it would be a way of returning to the sumptuousness and darkness of Pinocchio while offering quite a satyrical tale. It's the one I'm most disappointed about losing.

I saw Peter and The Starcatchers on that list, too. I'm disappointed that it's cancelled. It has a page on IMDB (or it did last I checked). The books are cool. They serve as ultra-fantastic prequels to the Disney Peter Pan.
Disney released these books under Disney Press, so I guess movie rights lie in their hands. Pleae, Disney, do it! With the Tinker Bell movie coming, people's interest in Peter Pan is going to be up. Make the movies!!
They aren't associated with Barrie's masterwork, which had its official sequel, Peter Pan In Scarlet, released recenty.

Actually, the movie was already made. It wasn't planned to be a DAC, but Buena Vista own the distribution rights (I think). However, it was only released in Europe/Australia, as there is some issue with the rights here.Super Aurora wrote:What the hell??! This makes me wonder- what other canceled projects weren't far enough along in the production pipeline for us to know about?!?!?

I wish there were descriptions on that blog. When I saw those pictures, I thought of the Disney Dragons line of merchandise, but I have no idea.sotiris2006 wrote:In the blog of the same artist there is also concept art for a Disney "Dragons" movie. At first I thought that too but "Disney's Dragonkind" line of merchandise uses dragon characters that exist already in the Disney universe and makes them more dark and realistic e.g. the Maleficent dragon, Elliot, Mushu etc. So that concept art couldn't be from this line.blackcauldron85 wrote:When I saw those pictures, I thought of the Disney Dragons line of merchandise, but I have no idea.

I asked Mr. Warter about those, and he said that apparently there were several dragon-related projects in the works at Disney over the years. None of them ever came to anything, though.blackcauldron85 wrote:I wish there were descriptions on that blog. You know, for an animation studio famous for its fariytales, Disney has an extremely low number of Dragon characters! We need more dragons, Disney! I mean, all we really have is Mushu, Elliot, and the Reluctant Dragon (even though Maleficent, Mim, and Narissa can all turn themselves into dragons, they really don't count, since they aren't really dragons).

OH MY GOD! The Velveteen Rabbit is one of my favourite stories and I've always wanted Disney to make their own adaptation. And it turns out that they were developing an animated version before shelving it...OH MY GOD!!
I definitely agree!UmbrellaFish wrote:The Velveteen Rabbit? I love The Velveteen Rabbit!
Too bad they never went through with it. It would have made a wonderful addition to the Disney canon, I'm sure. Hopefully it'll be put back into production someday.
