Well, the new restoration is playing at the El Capitan Jan. 15-28, so the release can't be too long after that. Feb. 2nd or 9th is looking like the day, even though it's less than a month away without an announcement.

Great. Glad they didn't publicize it. Just dumped my Big Top Edition on ebay for enough to cover what I paid for it & (if they have a $10 coupon) pay for the blu ray. :D Even without a coupon getting a good price for the dvd was sweet.

other than the fact of its corny edition titled named Big Top Edition your happy right?

anyway...I won't get the DVD....I'll get the blu because I did double dip on this...and I still have both versions of Dumbo on DVD.....Honestly Im surprised the Big Top edition didn't include some of the retro Disney Channel show Dumbo's Circus.....but maybe it will end up as an easter egg in the Blu Ray....

Yeah.....true...Disney wouldn't do that because that would be too much effort for them....its easier just to create a count the crows game or feed Dumbo Peanuts or help Dumbo Fly game...or you get the idea....

Maybe they'll include a music video of the cast of "I'm In the Band" singing "Dumbo's Circus" over the restoration end credits.

It's coming out on February 12 in Mexico:

http://www.mixup.com/mixup/Product.aspx ... 9656301330

Lets see, thats:

January 15-28th at the El Capitan
February 2nd in North America
February 12th in Mexico
February 17th in France
March 22nd in the UK

Now if only Disney would give us an official press release (confirming/denying some of these dates). Seriously, this thing comes out in less then 3 weeks (at least we think it does) and that means review copies will be popping up any day now. Maybe the people reviewing them can confirm when these damn release dates are since Disney seems so hesitate to commit to anything.

Disney has their heads up their asses, no one really knows when this Blu-Ray is dropping in the US. Amazon.com does not have a date yet, and it is getting really annoying what Disney is doing.

Oh my gosh, I remember that show from when I was a kid!

Ok, yes it may be corny as all get out, but dang it, that was part of my childhood right there! I'd own it on DVD simply for old time sakes!

That's a shame it's only going to be a single disc there.

So, here's what the release schedule for this looks like so far:

February 4th - Thailand (DVD only)
February 17th - France
March 11th - Germany
March 22nd - UK
Unknown - USA

My guess for US is March 16th. Yes, P&F comes out on that day too, but when else would they put it. Disney has a lot of releases to deal with...

Yeah, Blu-ray.com had the February 2nd date forever. They now just say 2010, which adds credibility to the recent reports that Dumbo has been delayed.

Disney keeps announcing all these DVD re-releases (Alice, Mouse Detective) with cover-art, bonus features and release dates but they won't give us any of those details on these Blu-ray releases they originally announced last year.

It supposedly comes out in Hong Kong on Feb 2nd, same day the original American Release date was (or is, who knows):

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-vj- ... -3pmy.html

I just wouldn't trust the release date on a website that claims the aspect ratio for Dumbo is widescreen.

Oh, and March 17th in Japan:

http://www.amazon.co.jp/DUMBO-70th-Anni ... 782&sr=1-2

Notice the Japanese cover art. Is that the preliminary art or the final art?

I think it's preliminary. Dumbo and Timothy are direct cut-outs of the Big Top cover, and Disney often re-uses older clipart as placeholders for their covers. What's funny is I prefer the way Dumbo looks on this Japanese art (and Big Top cover) than in the other (final?) Blu-ray cover.
