I mean quality-wise. I know DMR/DMC exclusives tend have a track record of poor-quality transfers, etc.
Most of them are, but So Dear to My Heart is that rare exception. The transfer/restoration was made for the cancelled-in-R1 Gold Collection DVD, and is better than some of the catalogue titles that came since. Mark Probst actually provided two comparison screencaps in this thread when it was first announced that the movie was a DMC exclusive:
Poppins #1 wrote:Based on my experiences with other Disney Movie Club exclusives, I was afraid this might be another retread of an old transfer. But rest assured it’s not. It’s been remastered and looks wonderful. I assume this remastering effort is from some years back when it was prematurely announced that So Dear To My Heart was coming to DVD, then the region 1 release was mysteriously aborted. It is probably the same transfer that is currently available in Brazil and Europe. Colors are bright, the image is sharp and black levels are accurate, though there are a few blemishes here and there but nothing terribly obtrusive.

Unfortunately, one of the extras prepped for the Gold Collection DVD wasn't carried over (thte 25-minute "Lost and Found" featurette), and was replaced with two cartoons that really have nothing to do with the movie aside from featuring trains ("Out of Scale" and "The Brave Engineer"). "Lost and Found" is on the R2/R4 releases, as well as Brazil's R1/R4 release

Even though I don't care for cover art, I dislike the Disney Movie Club version as it puts young Jeremiah in the background even though he's the main character. Makes it seem like Tildy is the main character. The Gold Collection cover was better.

since the movie is not rentable (I checked blockbuster online and netflix both) I say go for it.

The worst that could happen is Disney making an announcement for a slightly-late 60th anniversary edition DVD and Blu Ray release, tomorrow or something (meaning the announcement tomorrow).

I may even redeem for this. I've never seen it and its unlikely Disney would care enough to actually put this on a better release in the near future.
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

Just give them a call. I wouldn't wait another day. The toll free number is 1-866-246-8646 & you can get it straightened out right away. Early in the program they were great about responding when you sent a contact form but lately they are often ignored.
Never mind. It shipped a while back.

After 13 days, I finally got a e-mail response on the "wishes" code. The did give me the 50 points as a "one time courtesy."

I still have no clue how this was an ABC family web-site problem (as it was on the DMR site) and why I should contact them (as they are owned by the same company), but oh well.

I emailed them a week ago and still have yet to hear from them about "Wishes", so I shall hold out hope that I will within the next week.

It's very similar to (maybe exact) ones they used in theaters to promote the movie.

I was curious about the Wall-E "replica" until I discovered it was cardboard. I have a durn good Wall-E Disney Store exclusive action figure (and Eve and Mo), and until a lifesize Wall-E (working or not) comes out, I'll make due with that. The Captain Hook statue is pretty neat though, and there are a ton more DVDs and CDs up now, but none of the new DVDs were on my list. Well, the stuff still available in stores I don't want to waste my points on. There are still exclusive ones there I need though. As for the D23 magazine, I ordered one from them the first time they had them, and it came all beat up, so... I advise against it.

Right now, I just hope they don't run out of the grape soda pins. I'm waiting for my Princess and the Frog tickets to clear. I also have two CDs I could get points from, except the CD thing hasn't worked for me. Why couldn't they just put the inserts in the cases like with the DVDs?!!!!

Aren't the grape soda pins currently unavailable? I know they were like, a day after I got mine in the mail. I was so relieved.

Argh! Yeah, they ARE unavailable! I didn't know that because you have to click on it to get that message!!! I just got my ticket points today and that was an unpleasant discovery!

Unbelievable! I am so pissed right now, I can't even see straight. I called DMR the other day, because the status of my Animators/Directors signed "The Princess and the Frog" poster was still sitting in "Billing Information Received" status at UPS. It hadn't updated since 12/31/09. I speak with Karen, who tells me that she will send an E-mail to someone to find out why nothing else has happened. She told me to call back Thursday morning. So, this morning, I call, and Karen answers. She said she would place me on hold to find out a new status. She comes back to tell me she's sorry, that there was a problem with this order, and they don't have a poster to give me. She tells me that she will refund my points. I tell her that I don't want my 3500 points back, I want the poster that I had ordered BEFORE it went out of stock. She said she's sorry, but, there's nothing they can do. They don't have the poster to send to me. So, I'm out of luck. I'm so disappointed, so frustrated, so angry! I can't believe they can do this to someone. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and she said she would have one call me. I still haven't heard from one. I don't even know what to say, I'm so angry. I don't want my damn points back, I want that poster! What a freaking joke this Disney Movie Rewards program is! Unbelievable!

That's not right. I think they should hold some stock back just for mistakes like this.

Now would be a great time for forum member BVHE-rep to check in and perhaps he/she would see if they have any posters held in reserve. That is so wrong MMO. Even if they're out what would it take for Disney to grab a poster & have the directors/animators sign it since it is Disneys screw up on a very valuable piece of memorabilia. They all work for Disney & it would take each person about 10 seconds to sign a poster. YOU ordered it while it was in stock. If this were a cash transaction I'd go to the Better Business Bureau. Most of the stuff they have on there now to redeem is crap. Especially the high point prizes so you don't even have a good prize to redeem the points for. :(

Thanks, guys. It's very disappointing. I'm still so sad. A supervisor did call me back. She apologized many times, but, it doesn't really help. She offered to send me a "The Princess and the Frog" lithograph that's available for 400 points, without deducting the points. I told her I didn't want it, so, they just added 400 more points to my account. This really sucks, but, I guess I'll just have to get over it.

I got my Jim Shore Pooh figurine today and I think it looks pretty cool. I hope they release more like them such as the ones below.

Like, how cool? About how big is it? I have slightly over 1,000 points. Would you recommend it? I'm debating whether or not to get it. How long do you think they'll last?
