Most everyone who knows me, knows how I feel about any type of soda. You can't lose weight and still drink any of those carbonated drinks!!

I have lost nearly 180 pounds in four years, and haven't had a soda in that time. I drink a bottle of water for every 25 pounds I weigh, and stay away from all fast food places that are trying to 'scam' you with their so-called diets. Sure Taco Bell says it only has 5 grams of fat, but they forget to tell you that it has over 1400 mg of sodium content and that is what causes the weight gain or failure of weight loss.

Subway works because of the low sodium content and as long as you don't add any cheese to most of their sandwiches, you can lose weight at an approved pace.

There are no excuses for people to not eat smart, and healthy. I will encourage any of you, to start eating smart, pay attention to the sodium content of everything you eat, and don't drink any soda pop in any way, shape or form. Even those ones that say "Zero", look at the sodium levels, and you will see what i mean.

If I can lose 180 lbs in 48 months, you guys can try to keep the weight off or lose weight by just eating smart, and stay away from any of the fad diets, or fast food diets, and especially those diets that "grandma alice" suggests might be good for you.

I gave up eating any solid food after 6 p.m. and I gave up sodas. I don't miss the sodas, but sometime after 6 p.m. that salad or something like that looks awfully good. My doctor says that everyone should read the labels on the foods they eat, just because it says 'low fat' doesn't mean that it is good for you.

Yeah, it's often not the fat that gets you, it's the hidden sugar and salt content...

Congrats on the weight loss, slow but sure there and certainly a better rate than trying to crash and shift it far more quickly like some people attempt.
