I figured I'd bump this thread instead of starting a new one, since I wanted to post something dA related. Anyway, one of the members here kindly pointed me to a piece . . .
which was a pretty blatant tracing of one of my pieces from last year . . .
I tried to have a civil conversation with her about it, or at the very least, let her know I was aware she basically stole my work. Didn't quite work out that way, lol.
The arm on our left originally matched mine as well as the rest of the outlines, but when she was called on the tracing she quickly altered it.

I think what got me the most was that the other girl bragged about how she'd worked so hard and had studied the PatF trailer to get the face just right.
Here's the original comparison I put together . . .
Anyway, after several people called her on the tracing, she not only altered the artwork in an attempt to hide it, she hid all the comments, moved it to scraps, and blocked me from making any further comments on her entire page. dA ended up taking it down due to copyright infringement against me, but that hasn't stopped her from reposting it, *still* pretending it's her own work.
The best part is that she labels her other pieces with:

My work does not belong to the public domain, not to use it without my written permission.
I suppose she can help herself to anyone else's work though.

As I was saying in my
dA journal, I really don't want to make a big deal about this, but it's pretty sad that she feels entitled to upload this thing a second time and pretend nothing happened. Sorry, just needed to vent a little. I actually love it when people use my artwork as an inspiration, but it's another thing altogether when people trace something and claim it as their own. She's been reported, so it's probably a matter of time before it's taken down again.
Just makes me wonder why people feel the need to do this in the first place.
