Kirben wrote:The Plug It In And Turn It On catalogue from Target lists several Disney Family Classics titles, which are exclusive to Target.

Disney Family Classic titles listed:
Big Red
Greyfriars Bobby
Condorman
Old Yeller
Parent Trap
Pollyanna
Swiss Family Robinson

There might be more titles available, in store.
Those have all (with the exception of "Condorman") been widely available from the major retailers in the past; apart from the different cover art, are these new editions?

Wizard of Oz blu ray release here in Australia is a sing along version. Is this the same as the zone 1 - one disc 70 anniversary version ?

I've been told that it is; although the back cover fails to mention any extra features. I got fed up and ordered the UCE instead.

The Disney Family Classic line was listed as exclusive to Target in their catagloue, but I don't know whether they are new editions or re-packaged.

Hmmmm... :) Next time I'm in Target I'll check them out. "Condorman" might be fun, I haven't seen it in ages. :)

These appear to be re-packaged versions (in spiffy gold plastic boxes) of the old DVDs--no new special features. The cover art on all the titles is fantastic though.

Hey there, not sure if this is of any interest or borderline spammage, but here is my review for Pocahontas: Musical Masterpiece Edition:

http://www.dvdbits.com/reviews.asp?id=3626

Are fairly pointless edition if you own the 2-Disc, but it gave me a chance to review the film from a 2009 point of view.

It did seem to disappear really quickly. Somehow I managed to buy it for something like $14 shortly after the release date (along with the 2-disc "Lilo & Stitch" and the 40th Anniversary "Mary Poppins"). It's worth every penny if you can still find it. :)

Just ask. JB or especially Borders are likely to have it somewhere in their network. I recently picked up the collectors edition Dinosaur this way and I also got my 2-Disc copies of Pocahontas, Tarzan, Mary Poppins and Mulan from them when they were all out of print in late 2007.

(I was going to complain about them leaving all the features off the Dinosaur Blu but Dinosaur's commentary was so boring! "this shot we used this, this and this. This shot was taken, here, here and here. We had to do color correction on this one... Never give a whole movie to a visual effects house!)

Those Marvel titles have been listed in Coming Soon section at EzyDVD web site, for awhile now. The Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment web site isn't been updated much lately, still waiting for the April 2010 releases.

Disney are continuing to rip off the local market, by splitting the sets (from Region 1). and selling the individual discs.

I'm surprised there were no DVD releases for Handy Manny or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, several DVD volumes of both series have been classified by the OFLC in the last few months.

Dumbo was recently classified by the OFLC for a Blu-Ray release, so hopefully the wait won't be too long.
