Here are some early prices for Star Trek on DVD and Blu-ray. Still undecided on which Blu-ray version I'll pickup. I like the Target case, but I'm wondering how it will hold up, and how hard it will be to take the discs in and out.
Target
DVD
1 disc - $15.99
2 disc - $22.99
2 disc in Target Exclusive Enterprise Case* - $26.99
Oh great, now I don't know which version of Star Trek to get. I was all set to get the Best Buy version with the pins, but that Target case looks cool! Maybe I'll get the Blu-Ray at Best Buy and the DVD at Target...

Interesting packaging, but not awesome enough to forgo getting the movie with it's regular case, plus the $30 price tag seems a little too inflated for me.... For now, I'll grab the regular Blu-ray at Wal Mart and buy the Target "USS Enterprise Edition" when it goes on sale. Any possiblity of a Black Friday deal?
Is anyone going to any midnight sales to buy their copy tonight? I know Best Buy's having a "Doorbuster" event at most locations, and Wal Mart Supercenter's open 24/7, so there are a couple of options. I'm going to Wal Mart tonight.
Just curious, did Paramount jump on the less-plastic DVD case bandwagon?
I'm just wondering as I bought X-Men Origins: Wolverine yesterday and noticed 20th Century Fox followed Sony and started doing the less-plastic cases.
If so, I think I'll pick-up a steel book at Future Shop. I'm not too crazy about steel books, but I'd rather have a steel book case over a less-plastic case.
Is there a Blu-ray version without the digital copy? Its just I refuse to buy any movie with a digital copy and it would be a shame to miss out on this one.

Yes, Paramount has jumped on the bandwagon like every other company has. They've been using the Ecobox packaging since Transformers 2 and G.I. Joe. WB, Universal and Disney has also started using Ecobox packaging in addition to 30% recycled paper for the DVD cover inserts.
Using My Reward Zone Premier Silver card for the points, I picked up Star Trek 3-Disc Blu-Ray for $19.99. Best Buy was offering three dollars off for the first two hours on opening day. I also picked up my favorite of original Star Trek Movies Star Trek IV The Voyage Home on Blu-Ray for $18.99. The extras on both movies are well worth the time to watch. Especially all the branching extras on "Star Trek", it takes several hours to get through all the extras, and the majority of them are in HD.
The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!
I LOVE my Blu-Ray Disc Player!
I also got this on Bluray the day it came out at walmart for 19.99
Look for the star wars refrences in it. And R2-D2 makes a cameo in the scene when the enterprise arrives at Vulcan and is flying through all the destroyed ships, He floats across the viewer around the 47 or 49 minute mark of the movie
