I hope not! I'm kinda afraid that if I don't buy them soon they're gonna get discontinued and skyrocket on eBay. :(

I was afraid too, but then remember the third film is not even out yet. All these toy rereleases are probably to build up that movie so they will not be put out of print any time soon. Plus, you got everyone here on this thread (including me now too) checking out the toys every time we go to Target, Disney Store, or Toys R Us. So, if prices ever went down or toys ever was announced to be discontinued, you'd hear it first before it screws you over. :)

The Bucket O Soldiers are supposed to only have the English print. But for some reason those at my Disney Store were in French. Possibly a mistake. Imagine if those had the COA's! :P

I really hope they rerelease Wheezy. After watching Toy Story 2 again, all I want is him now! I have been checking ebay everyday now and there is one specific one I want because it also squeaks! But the one I want is super expensive...

Ah, that's true! I really hope we see some good sales for the holidays. :D

My thoughts exactly. Otherwise, I'd make due with my originals until after I move to Austin next summer! I am too concerned though, and I'm thinking I may start on this collection this weekend with Buzz or Woody, or maybe with Rex (who wouldn't be a double dip for me...).

Of course, with my luck, if I do get these, they will come out with even more accurate versions next year, fixing the little flaws. Squeaky aliens, Rex with a moveable jaw, and so on...

Yeah, I'm wondering about Slinky Dog, since there is a good version at the Disney Store currently that I almost bought many times. Don't want to buy him if a more accurate one is coming out...

Incidentally, I really love the packaging on the Buzz and Woody dolls, but one thing kills it for me and keeps me from wanting to keep the packaging at all, and that's the printing of "Toy Story" on it. Destroys the replica aspect for me. Is that also printed on the Bucket of Soldiers? If so, that really stinks and I don't know if I'll want the soldiers then... Though I guess I could display them without the bucket...

I probably should've mentioned that the Bucket O Soldiers with CoA that I bought at Disney Store was bi-lingual... like Rex was.

So if you see a Bucket O Soldiers that has two languages on it you should check it out >_>
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

Toys R Us (Canada) lists the Buzz Lightyear language: English
http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp ... CA/2510384

but the Bucket O Soldiers is...bilingual!
http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp ... Id=3640560

Hooray! So the French language must be correct for some odd reason.

Id almost bet money on Slink being in Wave 2. there are not many other toys from the main cast to use after all. and I cant agree, I think the slinky's out now suck. they got the muzzle wrong, as well as ataching the string to between his eyes (seriously? why?) and the tail is on odd shape. his ears lack the same textureing.

I agree about the logos, but I think they leagally had to put that on it. and yes, the bucket of soldiers has it. although if you look at it from just the right angle you cant see it which is kinda nice. the newer better one especially has a bit less label clutter.

And magicalwands, I got your PM but this board system doesnt let users registered in 06 (me) send them. looks like you have your answer already though. but I would look for the COA just to be sure.

Wasn't Slinky Dog, like, one of those "old toys" that they didn't create for the movie (like Mr. Potato Head) but just made their own version? That could be why he has the string on his head and whatnot, to be like the old version.

But yeah a new Slinky Dog would be great! And it would make sense! Part of me wants him to have a little string in the middle of his body (like the current Disney Store one) so that you can't pull him too far and wreck the slinky, but the other part of me wants to be able to pull it as far as I want lol... it's not like I'd break it like I did the one I had when I was younger

Yeah its originally an old toy from the 50s, and it did have it between the eyes, but when adapting the movie version him they should have adjusted it. you know, treat it as if it was a new toy, with a new design.

Ok I thought so. And I agree! Hopefully they'll do that for the Toy Story Collection. I wonder what kind of/if any electronics it'd have. I'd like to think there'd be a way for him to know if you pulled him too hard but I dunno if they'd be able to do that >_>

Seems simple enough, just put in a spring loaded trigger switch where the main spring is attatched. when the switch is triggered it activates his voice box, hopefully with new phrases by Blake Clark, and maybe some old ones from varney as well.

The swtich would need to be very sensitive though.

Well, hopefully they won't sacrifice sculpt for electronics or anything lol.

And last night I had a dream that I found Toy Story Collection Hamm at the Disney Store  lol

I haven't watched the films all that recently (I have the Ultimate Toy Box set), but I was always under the impression that Hamm was a ceramic pig. Is that accurate, and if so, will the COA Hamm be ceramic too?

Anyway, I finally made a COA Toy Story purchase! I can't get more than one at a time, spaced out a bit, ha, but I first chose to get Rex since I don't have any version of him and I have never seen the COA one anywhere besides Disney Store. For that same reason, I may get the aliens next (or LGMs, as I like to refer to them, a la the Star Command series). On the other hand, I don't know who will be more scarce around the holidays and it could still end up being Buzz and Woody. See, I can't even consider waiting for the Black Friday sales because where I live it is nearly hopeless to get what you want at those sales. Black Friday is fierce around here...

Anyway, glad to finally have Rex, and such a cool one, though it sucks that his jaw doesn't move. Still very cool though!

I too was under that impression, but after having seen the double feature I realised he may have been plastic the whole time. I cant recall any time where he was reflecting anything. one thing that may have led me to think that was the sound of of the coins rattling in the first movie's opening.

And when you see him in the toy story 3 trailer all scuffed up with paint and such, he looks very much like a rubber type of material.

Hey, I know, I can ask Lee Unkrich on twitter. He answered my question about weather or not Woody was Wood or plastic. (I assumed he was Wood, due to his original marionette design, and Buzz's "wooden captive" line)

In any case, I don't think they would make him ceramic in the toy story collection version, due to modern safety standards and all. at best they would give him a shiny coat of paint, but he cant be breakable.

I also don't think Hamm is ceramic. I mean, wouldn't he have broken when he, Rex, Potato Head and Slinky fell to the roof of the elevator in Toy Story 2?

Yeah I was always under the impression that Hamm was made of a rubbery material, probably 'cause of the one my sister had from 1995 which was an actual bank and it was made of a kind of hard rubber (and it's all scuffed up from play too  )

I LOVE THESE TOYS.

I love the whole concept around them, I love how accurate they are, I absolutely love the fact they come in original packaging. I love the whole idea of these.

Sure, if you want to get picky, these aren't TRUE replicas -- Woody's smile is closed in the movie, Buzz doesn't have karate chop action, etc. I just say that different versions of toys come out all the time -- we saw in Toy Story 2 they had the new Buzz with the utility belt. So we just have a slightly different version that the ones Andy has, lol. These are still the closest we're ever going to get.

I think the aliens not squeaking is the only true non-forgivable thing about this line. That annoys me to no end. I think it would have been neat if the aliens came with instructions, talking to the Pizza Planet employee about how to properly load them into the claw machine or something

But anyway, since everybody is posting their collections, here's mine:

Image

Buzz is hard to display standing up so he's in the box, but he has been taken out, lol. The aliens are trying to repair the twisted mutated toy (he came from Sid's bedroom, gotten from Sid's Create-A-Toy at DisneyQuest). I did get the wrong Bucket Of Soldiers too, thank God for this site or else I'd have no idea about that, I'm for sure going to grab the proper version soon.

I also had Rex in this display but he came defective, so he has to go back. RC is the only one I have yet to get.

And, here is one of the soldiers, rigged up to fly around the room, lol. I normally wouldn't do this because I have to poke a hole through the parachute but I'm getting the new one with the CoA anyway:

Image

I'll try to post a new image soon with Rex, RC, and the new soldiers when I get around to getting them all!

I'm really looking forward to the next wave! I want Hamm the most, I've never owned one in any form before :(
