That single should have been a bigger hit than #15 US. I mean...it's Whitney and Mariah. Should have been epic.

Speaking of Whitney, I really don't want to have expectations too high, but with the lack of promo and the fact that very few people can sell millions of albums these days, I'm really hoping Whitney can at least go Gold and sell 500K of ILTY. Anything more would be just gravy. I feel the same way about La Streisand's upcoming album.

I enjoy much of ILTY, but IMHO, the weak spots are actually the two ballads - the title track and I Didn't Know My Own Strength. They sound more like filler ballads you'd hear on albums by one-hit-wonder Whitney wannabes than ballads worthy of THE Whitney Houston. But "Call You Tonight," "Salute," "Worth It," "Like I Never Left," and "For The Lovers" are in heavy rotation on my player right now. 8)

I don't really think Whitney cares about hitting the charts with her album--what's most important is that she's BACK! :D And let's hope the dark days are behind her... :)

I completely agree! The ballads aren't what i would call classics, but they are still lovely. TBH all of the early leaked and released tracks do not showcase Whitney's current ability and what she is still firmly capable of. "I Got You" and "Worth It" show Whitney's incredible vocals like the last 10 years didn't even exist!

:D I like the line she said right at the end it really made me :).

Here's a really nice video montage of my Goddess:

<object width="445" height="364"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3nHiQsMzVCY&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3nHiQsMzVCY&hl ... 9&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="445" height="364"></embed></object>

The title is misleading but the song is so appropriate (I LOVE it!) and it's so in synch @ 0:45. I really love this montage, it's so dreamy and mesmerizing (I know I'm a total freal but it really makes me smile)

:D :D :D

Please watch it!

Good montage. She's seriously beautiful. They could've used one of her classic songs to make it better

There've got to be more interesting figures in pop music.

That said, no I haven't been paying attention to Whitney's advances. But Mariah's new stuff puts me to sleep.

You can't get much more interesting than Whitters, buddy! Apart from Madge, but she's been sliding lately

Agreed on Madge. What was her last single, anyway? She had 2 great songs (other than "Give it 2 Me")- "Miles Away" and "Dance 2Night." Why the HELL'd she waste all our time on "4 Minutes"? What a pile...

4 minutes has been the worst Madonna hit! "The Devil Wouldn't Recognize You" and "The Beat Goes On" are classics!!!

Oh I've seen this before Beasty :D. I remember when we first got to talking and you told me you were really into editing, you showed me it then and I really liked it :D

To be honest if she had released Dance 2Night it would have flopped so hard! For me it's a filler track, definitely one of the albums' weaker tracks.

Filler? Not even close. Filler is half the album, but not that song = "Candy Shop," "4 Minutes," "Heartbeat," "Spanish Lesson," "Voices," and "Beat Goes On." All those songs were weaker than "Dance 2Night." The second half of "Incredible" stunk too.
