Guilty! Ever since hearing about his death I have been on youtube watching his music videos and listening to his other songs. Im kinda rediscovering him. Bad, Thriller, Dangerous and the new songs from HIStory all seem to showcase MJs best music. I love Smoothe Criminal too. "Give into Me" and "Dirty Diana" are a couple songs that have really stood out to me the second time around that didnt make as much of an impression on me when they first came out. The video for Dirty Diana shows how great of a performer he was. I kinda had forgotten just how great he used to be......

I liked everything about Michael, the innocence the way he gave back...his music.

I'm just sad we didn't get ONE last album from him...give Invincible a shot, outsidt the ballads it's pretty good.

Even though there won't be a new album from him "per say", I'm pretty confident his label will release at least one album if not more of unreleased material. I've read that Michael has a hell of a lot of unreleased songs and that potentially he could be releasing albums in years to come. Here's the source:

Also, 2pac is a fine example of someone who has had a significant amount of album releases since his passing in 1996.

I still can't believe he's dead...

We will NEVER ever get somoene agin with such purity and who gave so much of himself to children....people like to compare Justin Timberlake to MJ he's not even in the same anything as him...nobody will be MJ someone like him comes around once in awhile...he was like our Elvis...I'm really just still in dissapointment as I REALLY wanted to see him live, however I was too young and he hasn't toured in the US in sometime...when I found out he died my mom was like I know you really wanted to see him live at least once :\

Oh well...I missed out on a legend.

Maybe he means that MJ was "The Elvis" of a new generation? (those who were teenagers in the 80's?)

I can *shrugs*

No offense is intended or anything, perhaps it's just the fact I couldn't care less about as a singer/entertainer. But yeah, I guess I was able to move on faster than most people here. Like the day it happened, I read about it and said "huh he died" and just went back to life. I saw no reason to be fully sad, or to break out all his songs and listen to them.

In all honesty I'm rather tired of hearing about it through Facebook. I mean on Facebook ever since the day it happened I've seen so many MJ Groups and Tribute Groups, and Quizzes. It's rather sad that it took his death to make those things happen, before his death I had seen nothing related to him at all in my News Feed.

That's my random thoughts on it all. *Puts on Flame Retardant Suit*

No need to put on the suit, not at all. I feel exactly the same way. The first day of the news was kind of understandable because it was so "sudden." But after a couple of weeks, it's really starting to become quite an annoyance. I don't care about him, I never did. But all the news stations just repeating the same information 24/7, I about wanted to shoot the TV. I'd much rather hear about something that is important instead of his "sudden" death. That's just me though.

Cherny and Sequel: Its perfectly understandable how you two are feeling. While a death always had impact, whether it was expected or sudden, people handle it in different ways. Some will be deeply affected, others will resume life as normal. It all depends on how someone views the deceased.

The main thing you two must remember is to always show respect despite your stance on MJ's dead. MJ was an icon. Millions loved him. He made history so of course people were impacted by his death. It doesn't help that his life was rather tragic despite his talent. So if you didn't feel moved at all by his death fine. Just let everyone else mourn him in their way.

If you keep stating that you don't care for MJ's death it will sound disrespectful to both him and the mourners because somehow you are trying to establish some sort of emotional superiority and in times like these.

So long story short; Its OK not to be moved by his death. But others were affected and have the right to express it whether you care or not. So be respectful and watch what you say.

Frankly, I am sick of the Facebook crap too. I am also tired of the hypocrisy too. For years it was like Scarlet Letter to say you like Michael Jackson (music wise). People would look at you weird, say "I don't support a child molester", etc.....All of a sudden all his fans come out of the woodworks. Where were they when he went to trial? Why weren't they playing his music, buying his CD, gushing about his greatness. Suddenly he's dead and its cool to be a fan?

I've ALWAYS been a fan of Michael Jackson, his stuff from HIStory and back. Everything after was total crap. The accusations took their toll and his talent died long before he did. Sure he could still sing and dance, but write good music....Invisible sucked. I heard two songs from it and it was BS.

But I'm not gonna gush about how I was a fan since I was a kid, always supported him now that he's dead. Its crazy out there. Either you have always been a fan or you are just being a fan now because he's dead and its suddenly cool to admit you like his music.

I agree. While I always enjoyed his music videos I never owned any of his albums. And when he died I didn't go out and buy all of them.

I think this is a common case of "You don't know what you have till its gone" syndrome. While I bet a great chunk of the population is supporting MJ out of hypocrisy and such I am sure many people just realized how much of an impact MJ had on people and noticed that he made some amazing music and videos.

Its very easy to take a person for granted, whether that person is a close relative or an international superstar like MJ. Its when you finally realize that the person is gone forever that you notice how much of an impact that person left in you.

Now, I'm not defending the media or saying you are wrong Siren. I agree that the media is being hypocritical and only focused on MJ when he was in trouble most of the media or making fun of him. And I hate it how his family seems to be squeezing him dry for all his worth after years of abuse.

Just saying that for some fans it was a shock and noticed the legacy he left behind.

Pap: I don't intend to be disrespectful towards MJ, or his fans, by stating that I never was a fan or that I wasn't moved by hi death. The only reason I may state that I wasn't, and still am not a fan is simply to show that I am not among those who Siren pointed out to be jumping on the We Love MJ bandwagon.

On one of my favorite shows, So You Think You Can Dance, they took the time out their show to stop and honor MJ which I thought was fitting and a good thing to do, but also they honored Farah as well. I feel more bad for Farah because people seem to be "oh she died that's sad, but MJ this and MJ that, let's make MJ fangroups and jump on that We Love MJ Hypocritical Bandwagon"

I suppose it does come down to Farah wasn't as big an icon, or didn't have as much an impact on the entertainment world. However I found her death much more tragic in the fact she battled with her condition for a good three years?

*shrug* Like I said, I don't intend disrespect.

I'm watching the memorial service on TV right now. It is quite touching. I teared up at the end of the song "Will You Be There."

What a legend.

Just watched it, though not right from the beginning. It was a worthy ceremony. I was touched by the emotions shown by MJ's daughter Paris.

Me too. And there was something very human and unTVish hearing the woman next to her (her mother?) whispering "Speak up, sweetie ..."
