So, so sad. It was confusing, since some websites only said that he was in the hospital, some said he was in a coma, and some said that he died.
I was sad about Ed McMahon and Farrah Fawcett, but I feel numb about MJ- who didn't grow up with him?
Extremely sad. He was apparently working on a comeback, too, which hopefully would help his image and career.
Rest in peace, Michael.

A friend just told me about this and I am as stunned as you are...
To be honest, I was expecting him to die since he didn't look in good shape.
MJ's life one one filled with many tragic moments. The man had an amazing talent but that talent was brought upon him with years of abuse from his father.
I just hope now that he is now able to find the peace he never received during his time on Earth.

This is shocking and totally unexpected to me. He's one of those celebrities than many of us grew up with. Fifty isn't all that old.
Despite the rumors and his troubled personal life, he was an extremely talented individual. I was never a huge fan of his, but I really liked him as an artist and enjoyed his music a lot. Pluls he had an enormous impact on the music industry. I was just a kid in the 80's but can clearly remember when Bad, Thriller, Billie Jean, etc. were brand new. I enjoyed his later stuff as well, particularly The Earth Song.
The world feels a little less bright today.

See I knew someone would bring this up. We will never know for sure if he was a child molestor. Everything was shrouded in mystery, rumors and vicious jokes that all of us took part in.Mr. Toad wrote:Good riddance child molestor.
But he also led a tragic life. Despite his amazing talent he was the product of an abusive father who only saw him as the only way he can make his dreams come true. He suffered greatly for it and I am sure its was lead him to his early death.
So whether you think he was a great guy or very creepy show some respect because MJ was first and foremost a human being, a human being that suffered throughout most of his life and the least he deserves is for the pedo jokes to go on during his death.

I also knew it would be brought up. All I can say is that by all accounts he was robbed of his childhood, which is something I believe he paid for for the rest of his life. I agree with what was mentioned earlier, perhaps he can now find the peace he did not have on this earth.pap64 wrote:See I knew someone would bring this up. Regardless of how anyone felt about him, you've gotta admit that much of his music not only brought joy to people, but that he often communicated powerful and positive messages though his talents.
I've been listening to this song a few times since I've heard the news: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FZcAzZOyOg

Yeah, that was the last I heard not many days ago that he was about to start a new tour. Now he's dead. Very sad, indeed.blackcauldron85 wrote:

Rest in peace, Michael.
As for his past allegations, I can't pass judgment on him considering I don't know the truth. So I'll just have sympathy that another great entertainer has passed this year.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ "Elizabeth Taylor"
Katy Perry ~ "bandaid"
Meghan Trainor ~ "Still Don't Care"
