I have to ask... anyone here who owns a UMD...

Does it have movie chapters like a regular DVD? Are they a lot more or less than usual DVD?

I don't have a PSP, but if I did I wouldn't buy UMD movies.

They accept Memory Sticks, they can play mp4 files... just encode the stupid things yourself! I mean, buy the DVD version and get the PSP version free, why would you buy it again?

(Oh, and official Digital Copies will work if you know how to remove the DRM  )

Do they still make many of these? I know a few people with PSPs now and I don't think any of them have bought a UMD.

Just a question - do they crop all the PSP movies to 1.78:1 or whatever the ratio of the PSP screen is?

Or are there letterboxes on the really wide movies like The Matrix?

But otherwise, yeah, UMDs are stupid - why would you have a system that takes discs AND memory cards, using memory cards is easier and more manageable!

I stopped buying UMDs years ago. I only have Toy Story, Incredibles, Harry Potter 1, and Garfield(the only one I haven't bought on DVD).

.Quite frankly, I'm surprised some UMDs have features as significant as commentaries on them.

Does anyone here even own any of these discs? And if you do, does anyone have an answer to my question? Because I checked Wikipedia and Allmovie.com and neither of them have this information.

I have some still, and yes, they have chapter selections. No bigger than the DVD usual, though.

I figured that they would. I just had to ask someone.

I have a proper obsession. It's not healthy, but that doesn't bother me. :D
