Scott is the new VFTW pick.
"The search is definitely over. Scott has won us over as the new VFTW pick. Dial 1-866-436-5705 as much as you can, because he was one of the performances that didn't stand out tonight and could easily go home. But between his sense of humor about himself, his lack of stage presence, and his subpar vocals, how can we not choose him? But again, he could easily go home this week, so don't rest. Even a blind man can see that he needs our help. And if you don't vote for him, you're a terrible person for insulting someone with a handicap. Why would you do that?"
Too bad they'll need a new one next week.

It won't happen - at least this week - Adam Lambert finally crossed the line and irritated everyone, including my dog, who left the room mid-performance shaking his head. It was Lambert's worst performance of the season, and it deserves to put him out of the contest, but there were others who will probably leave before him.
Based on last night's show, the bottom three will be: Scott MacIntyre, Lil Rounds and Adam Lambert. And, after being given chance after chance to show us something and failing, I am afraid that it is Scott's turn to take the road home. He can practice up for the Summer Tour and hopefully bring his chops to the tour.
Two standout performances last were Matt Giraud and Danny Gokey. And our favorite little redhead Allison just knocked the socks of the audience and the judges with her performance of "I Can't Make You Love Me". It was, again, a night of the wrong choice of song that spelled doom for at least four of the eight contestants, and Scott with a guitar was terrible, and I agree that his comfort zone is definitely behind the piano.
Kellie Pickler is the special musical guest on tonight's Results show. And I will definitely be surprised if anyone else but Scott is sent home - unless it is Adam Lambert, then I would be satisfied.

Can’t disagree more about Adam Lambert. Although I’m surprised Simon gave him a standing ovation--he’s never done it before, and there have been plenty other moments of perfection in the past seasons.
The first half of the show sucked and the last half was brilliant--Adam being the best of the night!! (easily the best for him so far, though I’ve liked nearly all his others as well) I loved him last night; I replayed “Mad World” over several times! Matt and Allison also did fantastic.
I thought Scott and Kris both did okay, though I think they had problems. Scott would’ve been better without the guitar (though I did like the song) and I think Kris’s song would’ve sounded better if he’d cut the band so it hadn’t been so jazzy though it wasn’t that great of a song anyway (like Simon said, “Stupid, stupid song choice.”). Anoop was also pretty good, but I have little to no interest in him for some reason.
Danny and Lil both did horrible. Enough said. And, if it were my choice, Lil would go. Also, I find VFTW a complete waste of time, not only because they are unnecessarily harsh but because of they're pointless obsession with a show they supposedly hate. Very sad indeed.

Just because you are highly critical of something and like to have fun with it doesn't mean you hate it. Look at survivorsucks.com. The name implies that they would hate the show but you'd be hard pressed to find a bigger group of fans anywhere.
I don't always agree with VFTW's picks but I think they are right on the nose about their observations about the show. Nobody watches a show they hate.
VFTW is about having fun with the show so that it's not just a bunch of boring singers at the end. And really, they don't have THAT much influence on the votes.

Ended up seeing last night's show online...
For the first time since the earliest rounds, Adam Lambert really impressed me. No annoying screaming this week. Allison, Matt, and Anoop were also really good. Danny and Kris were okay. Lil Rounds and Scott were awful.
I was very nervous for Anoop tonight but thankfully he's safe. I really wonder if the judges would have saved him. No matter -- Scott is gone at last! Now just one truly unworthy person remains (Lil Rounds).
I can't believe the judges even momentarily entertained the notion of saving Scott. The cynic in me wonders if they did that solely to avoid seeming anti-blind or because they had a few minutes to kill (or both).
My personal ranking for this week (since I didn't get to post it yesterday):
1. Allison (TIED)
1. Adam (TIED)
3. Anoop
4. Matt
5. Kris
6. Danny
7. Lil
8. Scott
My votes went to Anoop (tried to get some in for Kris and Allison too, but voting ended before I got the chance).
Two other notes: (1) I loved the UNC shout-outs on this week's show. (2) DialIdol is blowing their accuracy level.

I don't get why Simon gave a standing ovation, that isn't Adam's best performance, and the hype surrounding Matt's performance... please, the guy's nothing special, I mean why the hell would we need two Justin Timberlakes, there's no point in it at all.
Allison is by far the best singer of the night.
If she makes it to the bottom three this week as well, then I can only infer that crack sales are soaring in the States this year.

Matt is really creepy looking when he wears a fedora. I'd cross the street to avoid him. He needs to ditch the hat.

Scott was the lucky loser last night, but I think we the viewer were really the losers having to put up with some no talent called "Flo Rida" - I know my music and I have never heard of him, it or whatever you would call it. Oh, that's right, it was a rap artist, and you can't say rap and music in the same sentence because that would be improper English.
On the other hand, Kellie Pickler was amazing, and I can't wait for her concert, along with Taylor Swift to hit Wichita. I already have my tickets and I am very anxious to see what the two will do together and separately. Kellie's new CD is really good, and her writing collaborations with Taylor Swift make it so much better than her first outing, which was not a bad CD by a long shot - three Top 10 singles is not bad.
I was really surprised to see Anoop in the bottom three. I thought for sure that it would be Lil, Kris and Scott. And it was good to see the judges really torn on this one, but it was smart to save their 'save' for another week.

"I Will Always Love You" seems to be the judges' mantra for Lil Rounds... no matter how awful she is, they just pass it off with "we all know you're better than that". No she isn't! That's why she keeps sucking week after week.
I hope you're right, Widdi, and maybe she'll finally get the boot. We need her to if Anoop is to stay around.

I actually expected Lil to do Whitney several other weeks and she, thankfully, didn't (country week, year you were born week, top on itunes week). I remember how, last year, I knew before Syesha even came on that she'd be singing Whitney's version of Dolly's "I Will Always Love You." And, of course, she couldn't pull it off. Lil isn't good enough to do Whitney and I think she seems smart enough to know that.
Also, I like Kellie, but she's always really weak live. Though "Best Days of Your Life" turned out a lot better than last year's performance of "Red High Heels." *shudder*

I wonder why OneRepublic's still here then. Honestly, Timberlake isn't the only person who sings in that genre.and the hype surrounding Matt's performance... please, the guy's nothing special, I mean why the hell would we need two Justin Timberlakes, there's no point in it at all.

Generally you should always wait for the show before predicting.Jack Skellington wrote:Since all you guys like to make bottom three predictions, I'm gonna say the bottom three this week are :
Anoop, Matt, and Lil, with Anoop leaving the show !![]()
Anyways in VFTW news, Lil Rounds was just announced as the surprising successor of Scott MacIntyre. Of course the show on tuesday could change this, but for now this is pretty funny.

Updating throughout the show tonight:
Allison Iraheta: God I love her. She sang my least favourite Aerosmith song and she made me love it! I shall be wishing on my wishing trolls for an Allison victory.
Anoop Desai: Needed more passion. Not horrible, but it could spell some trouble for him. He seemed to be holding back out of fear of blowing a note. If you're passionate enough you can screw up a note and it won't matter too much because we believe you. I guess we'll see.
Adam Lambert: I'll give him a standing ovation this week! That was all kinds of awesome! First time I've ever bought him as a full blown rockstar! And for the record Simon, The Rocky Horror Picture Show > You. May I also add that Adam's performance of "Mad World" was NOT original. Just like David Cook's "Billie Jean" last year the arrangement is fairly well known, especially among us Donnie Darko enthusiasts.
Matt Giraud: Good vocal, but not overly memorable. Looks like this week will be an even bigger popularity contest than usual (remember this IS NOT a singing competition... it's a popularity contest disguised as one). I think the judges were a bit harsh on him this week though. He's a lock for the bottom 3.
Danny Gokey: Unforgettable? Huh? *SNORE* ... And the Dead Wife is brought up again. Thanks you british bozo.
Kris Allen: ... No. First time I really didn't like him. I'm afraid I may have to remove him from my avatar till next week.
Lil Rounds: Welcome to VFTW infamy. Wasn't all that bad, but her attitude is awesome! You go girlfriend! Tell that British Brat! *snap*snap*
My rankings:
1. Adam
2. Allison
3. Anoop
4. Lil
5. Matt
6. Danny
7. Kris
Bottom 3: Matt, Lil and Kris
Going Home: Matt
Saved: No.
