I was going to write that I'm confused about the aspect ratio, but I think I get it now. But, the booklet says this: "Did you know...Prince Phillip is the only prince mentioned by name in all of the Disney animated fairy tales?" Um, hello- Prince Eric!?!?!?! Geesh...it makes me lose a little faith in Disney with messups like that.

Perhaps they should have worded it differently:Ames wrote:But, the booklet says this: "Did you know...Prince Phillip is the only prince mentioned by name in all of the Disney animated fairy tales?" "Did you know...Prince Phillip is the only prince mentioned by name in all of the Disney animated fairy tales overseen by Walt Disney?"

But they didn't write it that way...that's why they need me to work for them! I would never let a mistake like that get out!!!Escapay wrote: Perhaps they should have worded it differently:

They need UD members to proofread all their material! I'll gladly watch their DVD documentaries and offer critiques of what works and what doesn't, as well as what they should have mentioned and what they can leave out.
*sigh* Times like this I wish Disney had it's own Restoration Team like Doctor Who - a group of people who are huge fans of the product and know more about it than regular company employees, thus they can guarantee that the restoration and extras all are high-quality and true to its original presentations. That's not to say that the ones making Disney's DVD extras aren't fans. But sometime's a fan's touch can do wonders more so than a studio employee whose latest assignment is making up some bonus features for The Aristocats with a limited budget and an order from Disney to keep it family friendly and include a game.

I can post full resolution (1920x1080) screenshots of the Blu-ray Disc when I receive the screener for review. Since the DVD version comes with the BD, I can take comparison shots between the two as well.
I don't know if anyone wants screenshots of the BD exclusive features in action. If someone is curious, I can get a few, I suppose.

Paka, Paka, Paka. You have to ask? Knowing that I frequent this forum?
Of course we want to see the BD supplements in all their glory! It's all about interaction baby!

I wouldn't mind seeing the Cine-Explorer material, see what kind of stuff it focuses on. And of course, I'd love to know more about what they discuss in the "Restoring the Soundtrack" featurette.Paka wrote:I don't know if anyone wants screenshots of the BD exclusive features in action. The BD-Live stuff (chat, mail, trivia, etc.) I'll pass on.

Yes, nothing would please me more than to have the battle of the wands scene interrupted by a little bug saying "You've got Movie Mail!", which I'll begrudgingly decide to open, only to find a random video a friend sends me in which he simply goes "A boogedy-boogedy-boogedy-boo! I interrupted the movie just for you!"ichabod wrote:Come on, you know as well as I do that's what we've been waiting for!Escapay wrote:The BD-Live stuff (chat, mail, trivia, etc.) I'll pass on.

Since it's been a long time since you and I had some fun with a war or whatever, I'll just go ahead, annoy you and say:ichabod wrote:Come on, you know as well as I do that's what we've been waiting for!
"tsk tsk. ichabod ... is that the wittiest you can say?"
Now if you decide to reply, then everything's well and good. If you, um ... feel like making me look the forum idiot, just ignore (really, I'd rather you choose the former option ... just a suggestion).

Or it could just have been because you hadn't posted that message when I started replying to Espcapay's message, you little Malteser!Julian Carter wrote:There, see! Discrimination! That's what it is!
Shame on you ichabod! You replied to Escapay and not to me (and the only reason I can see for that is that my post is stupid and devoid of any substance).
I'll make it up to you by sending you a message to open when you're watching your Sleeping Beauty blu-ray!

You're not the only one. That featurette is one more reason why I need to get my hands on the Blu-Ray. xDEscapay wrote:And of course, I'd love to know more about what they discuss in the "Restoring the Soundtrack" featurette.
It's been quite unfortunate that Disney hasn't spent more time and effort on music-related featurettes on their releases. Sure, there have been the occasional good feature (e.g. the wonderful Alan Menken documentary on Aladdin DVD), but too often these featurettes are too short although they do manage to add in some relevant information despite the usual short running time.
I've always been interested in the musical side (songs, score and the overall music production) of Disney films, so it's nice that the Sleeping Beauty Blu-Ray has such a promising featurette coming up among all the other things.
Some things you see with your eyes, others you see with your heart.
