I think you greatly underestimate the sales potential of Fantasia over Beauty and the Beast. No and I completely understand that. But what I am saying is, is that Beauty and the Beast as of right now has the highest demand. And yes adults do enjoy animation but not as many as there are children who enjoy it. Every child loves Beauty and the Beast. Or at least almost. I don't know any child who enjoys Fantasia. I just feel like Fantasia is a separate kind of piece that should get it's own type of release. And also Beauty and the Beast is one that children and adults can both enjoy. It's not childish compared to others. Not that any of the animated classics are but this one offers a story anyone can find something in. I just think it deserves an earlier and bigger release than Fantasia. I can agree there. I'd rather Disney treat Fantasia as a film above the Platinum line, which really is only a shell of its former self (regardless of how many impressive features Sleeping Beauty seems to have, as it came too little too late for other just-as-deserving titles). I enjoyed it as a kid. And the original Fantasia set sales records on VHS when it came out (which was the original criterion for choosing Platinum titles, by the way).
whats this about Aladdin being removed from the line up? since when and why? and Aladdin is considered by many to be their favorite Disney classic of all time. ask your average person and its usually either the Lion King or Aladdin.
