Maybe, while she's in the dungeon, Marina encounters another purple prisonerNymbus wrote:Maybe, in the end of TLM:AB, Triton "banishes" Marina, they are in the dungeon, but Marina's fortress is transformed into Ursula's cave over the next year and then she reveals her true identity, although we don't know where that would leave Benjamin, unless he escapes.
The eels do bear a resemblance to Flotsam and Jetsam, and maybe Marina was able to keep two of them and change back into Ursula.
I dunno, I'm going to hang onto every thread of hope that Ursula will make an appearance somehow or someway in this new movie

Are you sure?Vermin Friends wrote: And the mermaid at the end, jumping out of the ocean is most definitely not Ariel. The hair is black/brunette, and the tail is blue- sorta like the mermaid at the start of the 5 minute sneak peek, and at the beginning of this very ad- it probably is.
At the end of the "Amazing" video, we can see Ariel underwater spinning, and she is just about to jump out of the water, and then we can see the mermaid jumping out of the water.
And if you look carefully, you can see that the fins are green and the seashells are purple, the hair is dark just because of the shadow effect.
What do you guys think?
Is it Ariel or not?

Wow seems like it would be a good sequal after all.
I feel bad now that this will be the last sequal Disney's going to make now that they're doing really good prequals like Cinderella 3, and The Little Mermaid 3.
I was looking forward for a sequal of Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Hercules, & Alice in Wonderland.

I'm sorry if something similar to this has already been posted, but I had a thought the other day.
As has been previously stated, it's extremely odd and completely nonsensical for Disney to avoid Ursula in this prequel, it just doesn't make sense.
Here's my theory: Disney originally hired Sally Feild to voice Ariel's Mother (which is what we all thought when we heard she was cast). But it's obvious a lot of script changes were made, and it's likely the part of Athena was cut down to the part we know today. Now, because they had hired Sally Feild, a well known (and likely expensive) actress, they couldn't put her in what was now a smaller part with a lot less lines, so they created Marina. This meant that she had to take the place of what Ursula was originally to do in the story. This means Ursula was cut (though they might throw something in at the end).
I pretty sure that's what happened. The main reason brining Marina in doesn't make any sense is because she plays the EXACT same part Ursula would play in a prequel: a woman who worked in the palace, apparently tried to take over, and was then banished.
The more I think about it, the more I'm sure this is what happened. Shame on you Disney! You know we'd love Ursula 10x more than this replacement (no offense to Marina)!

I don't wanna fight with anyone, but I still think its Ariel,
I see the fins green, not blue!!!

And while jumping, she is giggling like Ariel (Jodi Benson)
By the way, I think that the mermaid with the blue tail has something in her hair.
Well, we'll discover who is that mermaid when we watch the movie!!!

The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning
Disney's Divinity, this film doesn't seem to be paying much attention to the right ages. Ariel seems like she could be 15 and yet she doesn't seem to have discovered humans yet!
However, if she's only something like 13, then that gives us a little more time. Marina looks old, maybe 45 or 50 something. She could already have two 25 or 30 something daughters. Or Marina could use magic to look younger, like she used magic to change her clothes.
Disney Villain, in both books it says the film takes place ten years later. 10 years. And Ariel is not an infant in the scenes with Athena. She's a baby or toddler. She can play the piano! She could be 5 or 6.

what does this mean?? doesn't equal Ursula??Prudence wrote:=/=
I definitely think it's Ariel...She's jumping in front of the sunlight, therefore it makes her appear more silhouetted. Similar to the scene when Ariel first bursts out of the water after being turned into a human. Her hair looks almost black in that one.

Re: The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning
I don't know what people are arguing about--the girl in that shot is obviously Ariel. It's far too thin to be Athena (as well as missing the crown) and noone else has ever been connected to the surface but Ariel.
Not that I would be totally shocked to see the witches' mother appear in a sequel (I've expected that ever since I saw the ending to RttS), but I don't think Marina is it.
"Seem" being the operative word here. The above picture of Ariel above the surface already seems to disprove that.Disney Duster wrote:Disney's Divinity, this film doesn't seem to be paying much attention to the right ages. The only problem with that theory is, if Marina were enchanting herself to look younger, she wouldn't look so old. However, if she's only something like 13, then that gives us a little more time.
