In some comics I read, she was. But you know how TLM is with canon--every new thing has its own universe.
lol aint that the truth. But I still choose to see TLM animated series as canon just with them retconning some things. Not as if it doesnt happen in actual tv shows.
Funny how Attina is the only one who chooses to wear a crown. But I guess Triton and Athena could have chosen not to try to bring up the rest of their kids as "royalty" after they started having more after Attina was born.
And in the back of my mind, I always want them to reveal Ariels "real" name as Ariella (so it can fit the rest of her sisters names ending in a an A) and just have Ariel be what she chooses to go by.
And am I the only one who thinks that Aquata and Adella could be twins?
I always thought the order they appeared in the Daughters of Triton scene was decending from oldest to youngest, although I definitely think Attina should or would be one of the oldest, along with Aquata and Andrina. Adella could be middle child while Alana and Arista are closer to Ariel's age. From the series anyways, it seemed like Arista and Ariel were closer in age.
I wonder why they say Alana embodies the natural beauty of a mermaid? I think they all embody that appeareance, probably Ariel the most since she has that wild long hair. Ariel's also the only one who has a different eye shape. But geeze you think after having their same hair styles for years they'd wanna switch it up a bit!
Hahahahhaha disney's DIVINITY hit it on the nail every new thing in the little mermaid has it's universe.

Just so you know, that was Disney's Divinity, not me, but I don't mind getting mixed up with that member! It's kind of flattering. Thank you jeremy88! I, too, think he hit the nail on the head with that funny but too true comment.
oh, wow, i feel, like...an insignigifcant fool, I don't know if I saw that it was Disney Divinity and I just thought of duster when i was typing, or what was wrong with me. I apologize to Disney's Divinity. And thank you Disney Duster for pointing that out! Have I not known I would have always been in unconcious embarrassment for like...ever.

Ariel's graduation or something??!
Well actually, it is
Ariel misbehaves (forgets that her grandmother is coming to visit them and shows up late) and Triton decides to send her to a boarding school. She causes several problems there too, but in the end everything is alright and Ariel graduates and apologizes to her grandma.
And they wear school uniforms in that boarding school. I mean, mermaids in school uniforms?!?
Thanks for the picture .
What? she shows up late when their grandmother is coming and she's send to a boarding school? Triton is the suckest father in the whole world.
And this isn't misbehaving.
I wonder if the other Princesses has other relative (Aurora's uncle or Belle's grandmother,Aurora "misbehave" when she shows up late when her uncle came thanks to Flora,Founa and Merriweather who couldn't choose the color of her dress so she's send to work as a chambermaid in Hubert's castle ).
When I was younger and watched Ariel's Undersea Adventures the first time round, I loved it so much, and did not think of the differences to the movie. Watching the show now, it's shocking how much they 'modernised' it ! The culture is compleatly different, and the fairy tale aspect has almost gone.
Of course the show has some truely magic moments, like 'In Harmony' 'Daring To Dance', 'Giggles', seeing Hans Christian Anderson to name but a few.
Ariel fans were lucky that their favourite little mermaid had her own show
Yeah, mobsters? squidcycles? submarines? hotdogs? it's a fairy tale.
Daring To Dance is Wish Upon A Starfish and the episode with Hans Christian Anderson is called Metal Fish .
Jasmine (Thought there's too much episode,no episode without Iago,Abu or Genie but lots of episodes without Jasmine?) and Belle had their own shows.
Oh man, thanks so much for those pics, Mooky! They are so bizarre though! The mermaids look kinda silly in those dresses lol. And I guess mermaids must graduate at an earler age than humans do.

I agree. For one, Triton, the king, isn't wearing anything. And, two, well, noone ever wears extensive clothing in the original movie--not even older mermaids (there's a particularly heavy-chested older woman who wears nothing but shells in the original's celebration at the palace, just like everyone else).
It's also weird how the grandmother is depicted as stern here. She was more sympathetic in the original story and even intervenes when the King becomes angry at his daughter (that part could just be from the anime though).
Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

You make me laugh. A lot.
Interesting pictures. Why are they wearing dresses in the boarding school, though? Doesn't that come across as rather human to you?

I"m not joking, she shows up a little and that's misbehaving?.
Anyway, that's not a reason to send her to a boarding school.
Going through my pictures, I noticed how Adella is depicted in the movies compared to the tv series. She is noticeably bigger in the series which I dont see a problem with since it helps her stand out. And since I still see the series in continuation with the movies, I wonder if Adella has started to emotionally eat for a year or so, or just letting herself go a bit before regaining her figure in the first film.
Well, actually, Adella is big in the original movie. She kind of goes from fat to thin. The animation isn't always consistent, as illustrated in these pics:
But take a look at when they do remember to make her different from the others:
