It's Japanese, so the American cover probably won't look like that... Unfortunately.

70 minutes, huh? Not bad.

Japanese? Why is the title in English?

I think it's perfect: it's got "III" and "Ariel's Beginning" is more of a subtitle.

Old Fish Tale's post used to say it was Japanese... Hmm...

I don't know why it was written in English if it's Japanese. I think they do that sometimes in foreign countries that don't speak English, at least on the titles.

EDIT: Okey-dokey... Old Fish Tale explains it in the above post. :)

They do it here, but the original title is usually really, really small. Like here:

And what kind of animal is Benjamin, he looks weird.

Freaky, he doesn't really look like a sea cow, he looks like some ghostly blob. What kind of evil sidekick is that  ?

I must admit, when I first saw him, he looked more like a green Barney to me... Maybe he'll have purple polka dots on his back!

Benjamin's Marina's trusty manatee sidekick, who stands by her through thick and thin.

I've just been to IMDb's TLM3 page to see if Benjamin will have a speaking part and look what I found:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0969647/ratings

I seriously doubt it's THAT good .

Technically considering how far out and deep Atlantica must be, he is a dugong. Manatees stay in more coastal regions and don't go in the ocean much at all. Where as dugongs spend far more time in the ocean. Though his tail is more like a manatees. But then one can't really trust Disney to be that scientific. Rafiki had a tail and Spot (from TLM series) slept on the bottom of the ocean.

Though I find it ironic they chose a sea cow....When sailors first took to the sea, they would often confuse the sluggish sea cow for beautiful mermaids....they were at sea a loooooong time.

When I saw the latest cover, I thought it must be some kind of April fool's joke, but then I quickly remembered it's June...

Yeah, I think Benjamin (is that his name?) will probably be like Wiggins from Pocahontas. You know, well-meaning and totally out of it. I can't believe they put him on the cover though. It's unnecessary and he crowds it.

The Little Mermaid III: It's a Manatee

Post by Disney Duster »

Isidour...OMG too funny, and rather genius.

Siren, did you see Old Fish Tale's later post showing Disney does indeed call him a manatee and I guess they aren't being accurate, then?
