I think it's because the picture is a little bit risque. I'm all for freedom of speech, but I don't wouldn't give that to my five year old child and say, "Hey, look, it's Hannah Montana!". It's not bad for Miley to reinvent herself, she'll have to if she wants to survive in Hollywood. I just don't think it's not good for kids to grow up with their role-models suggesting... things. Call me stone-age, I just don't like it...
P.S. Artistically, it is a good picture...

You have a child,Umberllafish?.
Well,I whouldn't show any of those pictures to small children (I don't think that those picture are for them anyway, why whould they care about pictures with Julianne Moore as Ariel or Jennifer Lopez as Jasmine?),I don't think that she is a role model for small kids.
But why they made this picture anyway? is it really for the Dream Portraits?.
I found an article about this, she said that it was "Artistic and cool" and now she's embarrassed, the article didn't said anything about the Dreams Portraits, they said that the photo shows her naked (When you can only see her back skin
) and that it's pedophilia.

Thanks, UmbrellaFish!
I don't think that it's a risque picture, per se, but she is only 15, and she's always showing more and more skin. I think the argument is that she always shows skin and she's showing skin in this picture- granted, it's not no-no parts of the body, but she just needs to put some clothes on.
Since she's so young, though, I can imagine that maybe she just went with whatever the photographer said to please the photog.

Anyway, the poster that originally said it was going to be in the Dreams series was only joking.
I didn't thought it's a joke,I don't know,I thought they can used somehow (Esmeralda?

It's Zac. There's an interview on the new D23 site;

Looks like the costume colors were altered after the picture was taken.
I'm hoping this is the first of a new batch (I was disappointed when Ariel was the only one in the last set).
Did anyone ever find a hi-res version of the Ariel picture with the caption on it?

Hate it. Why?xxhplinkxx wrote:Thoughts?
The thing I loved about this series was that, sure the celebrities didn't look exactly like the characters, and the reason for their being selected wasn't always clear (or logical, for that matter), but to me- what made this series great was its ability to capture the magic of the scene. Whether it was through costume, background or even pose, the magic was there. Take my favorite: Scarlett Johanssen Cinderella. You have the background of Disneyland's Cinderella castle, a modernized, yet strikingly similar dress, even a prop, and great pose, she's made an amazing photograph.
Now take this one. For one thing, "Sleeping Beauty" has already been done- through David Beckham (as Phillip)'s battle with Maleficent. So there's clearly a major cast change, which would be okay, had they been able to pull it off... but they didn't.
Both of their costumes are in no way similar to the costumes in the movie; Zac's looks more like Prince Adam/the Beast than he does Phillip. I'm glad they changed Vanessa's dress from that yellowish color to the pink it is now (perhaps to add to the whole "make it ____"), but they still got it wrong since, as Flanger-Hanger said, in the scene, she was wearing blue.
I'm not too bothered by the fact that her hair is so obnoxiously not blonde, because as PeterPanfan said, there have been other additions where exceptions have been made (I LOVED Whoopi as the Genie). It's just the stupefied look she has plastered on her face. From what I read in the interview (thanks, ChrisLyne!), they were recreating the kiss scene. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but did Prince Phillip kiss her on her neck, and did she smile at toward the right? Seriously, it looks more like he's sexually assaulting her than kissing her.
The ONE thing I actually like in this photo is the inclusion of the flowers and thorns or whatever. It's not necessarily "accurate", but to be honest, nothing in this photo really is.
Although I don't necessarily agree with the rest you had to say, I do agree with this.Flanger-Hanger wrote:It's some tweens fantasy that has squat to do with the movie it's based on. It's a big F U to the Sleeping Beauty fans out there.
I think a side portrait of just Aurora (portrayed by Kiera Knightley as we all wanted) would have been the most beautiful thing in the world.. but no. We got this.
Hopefully the rest of the set will make me eat my words.

Truthfully, I'm still rather puzzled by this campaign even now.
The whole purpose at first was as promotional pieces for the Year Of A Million Dreams celebration at the parks. I thought the idea of promoting the Disney characters and their famous film moments for the park is a great idea, and that these photographs are beautifully done, but I just wonder why. When I think of Disneyland or Disney World I think of Snow White and the dwarfs, Peter Pan and Tink, Phillip and Aurora, Alice and the Wonderland gang...not famous celebrities dressed up to vaguely look like Disney characters. A good example is the King Arthur one to me. If he wasn't pulling the sword from the stone, I would have had no clue it was supposed to be Arthur since it's being played for one by a full grown man in a medieval suit or armor.
I would have preferred they had done just very beautiful painted pieces of artwork of the character in their film moments. For example, Phillip on horseback with it saying "Where true love conquers all" or one with the Blue Fairy, the Fairy Godmother, and Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather all together saying "Where magic is a simple wish away." That I would have loved to see, but these pictures just don't immediately make me say "I want to go to Disneyland/World!" or really reeenact the famous moments of the films for me. But that's just my personal opinion.
Anyway, about the recent picture, as Vermin Friends said, Zac looks more like he's in Beast/Prince Adam's costume, and why do they have Vanessa in pink? Also, another thing that perplexes me is why is he kissing her when she's already awake anyway.
