Annie Leibovitz photographs celebs in Disney fashion

Post by myr_heille »

I heard about this on another forum, apparently as part of a campaign for Disney World Annie Leibovitz convinced celebrities to dress up as Disney characters. The first serie was out yesterday and we can now admire them: Scarlett Johansson, David Beckham, Beyoncé Knowles, Lyle Lovett and Oliver Platt are all wonderful! Rumours of future characters include Peter Pan, Tinker Bell and Ariel. It's must-see! I especially love Scarlett!

Wow! That is really awsome! Who would you like to see dressed up as Disney characters? I would personally love to see Nicole Kidman as Sleeping Beauty -- -- that would rock! I'd love to see someone dressed as Ariel, but i'm struggling to think who could do it!

Good idea for Nicole Kidman! As for Ariel, I'd love to see a (redhead) Kate Hudson or somebody like that. She seems very playful and I think it would generally fit Ariel. If not, I don't know, there's not much redheads.. Alyson Hannigan maybe? But then, Beyoncé and Alice aren't exactly look-a-likes, so I guess it doesn't matter so much.

Celebrities Dress in Disney!

BINGO! I LOVE HER! And she actually dressed as some women in famous paintings before, so maybe this is something she might like. I of course really love Scarlett's because she's Cinderella, but Beckham as Prince Phillip is really cool! I wish they had done it more at night, and with thorns, though. In fact, technically the castle should be in front of him, not in back, because he was fighting his way to the castle! Thanks for bringing these to our attention, myr_heille!

Whoa, those pictures are amazing! Really beautiful.
(on a sidenote, how great would it be to sleep in Cinderella's Castle?)
I love Scarlett as Cinderella. She wouldn't be my immediate choice, but it works ^^

She really does lok fabulous, as they all do, but i only wish they had put her hair up 'Cinderella-style' rather than down with just the hairband thingie.

That's my one complaint too. Still, she's on the run, so maybe it got loose

These are simply beautiful. Scarlett wouldn't have been my first choice for Cinderella, but she looks amazing and the photo is beautiful.

Becks is pretty good as Phillip, I almost expected a Sleeping Posh Spice somewhere in it though, lol.

Beyonce as Alice? I'm not really feeling this one or the flying teacups since that wasn't from the movie, it's a ride that's became popular for Disney theme parks. Blah.

I look forward to the next round of pictures. Perhaps they could get Anne Hathaway to do Belle, I think she would look fantastic in the gold dress.

The pictures are great! Although Beyonce looks a little funny as Alice!
Anyway they're just magical. I would like to see Lindsay Lohan as Ariel, Monica Belucci as Pocahontas and Halle Berry as Kida. Don't ask me why, I know it's weird but I've always made thoughts like that, even before these photos came out. I've always tried to think of Hollywood stars as Disney characters.

I'd also love to see Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow.

:D
(Seriously, Captain Hook could be fitting!)

I absolutely loved the Scarlett Johansson picture!!! It looks amazing!!
They should sell that dress at WDW. They sell princess dresses for little girls, but nor for big girls like me!! I want one!!!
And I'd just love to sleep in Cinderella's castle, although the bedroom actually looks kind of overloaded and dark, but still very nice!
How cool would it be to wake up in Magic Kingdom!!!

And I agree with Little Merboy that Rachel McAdams would be a good choice for Ariel picture!! Her smile reminds me of Ariel's.

Wow. Those pictures were amazing. The suite was pretty cool too. I think that Anne Hathaway would make a great Belle.

Oh. My. God. Those photos are really breathtaking! And thanks to Leibovitz and Johansson, I have a newfound respect and love for Cinderella.

Wonder who they could get to be the menacing Maleficent...I can just imagine Glenn Close, even though she's already got one Disney Villain under her belt (and one Disney Matriarch as well!)

Also would love to see Tarzan and Jane as portrayed by my wishful-thinking couple of a previous thread (with discussion of a new live-action Tarzan film), Alec Newman and Rachel McAdams. McAdams could work as Ariel too, but I've got more respect for Jane than I do the little fishgirl.

Celebrities Dress in Disney!

Post by Disney Duster »

Hey, there were stories about these photos on Xtra! and some other entertainment show, perhaps Entertainment Tonight, that I just saw after being in ths thread! But are you sure there will be other photos? They seemed to act like those three were it, no mention of upcoming ones. But the photos haven't even appeared in magazines yet, so there's still time.

I don't know, I heard about it on a little forum with 20 people max on it and it seemed to be coming out of nowhere! I'm just repeting what the girl said but it's a pretty unreliable source. But since it's a good idea, maybe it will be a "theme" for the WDW ads in the next few years?

I particularly like Cinderella out of the three.

Michael Palin could dress up as Merlin quite easily.

Bruce Spence (if anyone's heard of him!) is a dead ringer for Jafar.

Christopher Lee would look quite convincing as Frollo.

Glen Close could don Cruella's coat again.

It's a pity he's dead, because Arthur Lowe (Dad's Army's Captain Mainwaring) would be a great Doc, with John Laurie as Grumpy and Ian Lavendar as Dopey.

JOKE IDEAS:

Victoria Beckham looks an awful lot like Yzma at the moment.

Anne Robinson is practically Lady Tremaine in real life.
