I think you mean "Match Game" with Gene Rayburn, Ross Shafer, and Michael Burger (or Michael Berger, I don't know how you spell his last name). It's okay.Flanger-Hanger wrote:Math Game from the 70s for sure. Sadly GSN doesn't show it as much anymore. They'd rather have Lingo, Weakest Link or some other crap.

I am with Flanger Hanger, Match game is the best game show of all time. Who is Michael Berger? Richard Dawson and Charles Nelson Reilly were the other regulars. My wife and I got the Best of Match Game on DVD and were entertained thouroughly. Price is Right comes second for me. I also really liked the show with the whammies. Can never remember the name though.dvd500 wrote:I think you mean "Match Game" with Gene Rayburn, Ross Shafer, and Michael Burger (or Michael Berger, I don't know how you spell his last name). I am not sure about the argument that whoever is there for the longest is the best. I don't like to give points just because something just exists.
Never thought much of Wheel of Fortune. Thought Pat Sajak and Vanna White were dry and boring and the contestants were just outright stupid most of the time. Could never figure out the most obvious of puzzles. Come on people there are only so many combinations of letters that are possible. Cant say that about Jeopardy though. Seen some wickedly smart people on that show.

Yeah the new version's name is obvious it is Press Your Luck I can never remember. Peter Telemarckin the original host and producer of both programs recently died in an ultra lite crash.UmbrellaFish wrote:There's two verisons. Michael hosted "Match Game" from 1998-1999, just so you know.Mr. Toad wrote:I am with Flanger Hanger, Match game is the best game show of all time. Who is Michael Berger? As for the argument that whoever is there for the longest is the best, well, there's no argument, it's just my opinion like I said. It's okay, though.

I think you mean Peter Tomarken. He wasn't the producer of both "Press Your Luck" and "Whammy!". Actually, the host of "Whammy!" was Todd Newton.Mr. Toad wrote:Yeah the new version's name is obvious it is Press Your Luck I can never remember. Match Game is a family favorite at my house. We watch it together pretty often. I also enjoy Press Your Luck, The Newlywed Game, Who Wants to be a Millionaire? (pre-Meredith), Password, and The Dating Game.
As you can see, I prefer classic game shows to modern. The corniness of the '60s and '70s just can't be beat!

I basically like the flashier game shows. The ones with cool graphics and set designs and fun participation things going on. The Price is Right was very presentational in that regard. I always wanted to play Plinko! And I just want to see that big table and the dice and that huge gameboard with the holes where you put the dice in so the numbers light up. And that weird game with the mountain climber who falls off...

Wheel of Fortune is always going to have a special place in my heart. My grandma who died last month had to watch it everyday at 6:30 pm and we never missed it. Plus, I'm awesome at it, so if I had to choose one game show to go on this would be it.
I also really like Jeopardy, I mostly like the pop-culture questions though. I haven't bothered with Price is Right since Bob Barker left, though I've always wanted to play Plinko. And I remember The Newlywed Game being especially hilarious, does GSN still show it?

I don't have GSN, but I would watch it all the time if I did. I love old shows like "Lets Make A Deal" and "Press Your Luck".
I grew up watching "The Price is Right" and I have always loved that show. I don't watch it now much since Bob left. Drew Carey isn't bad, but he's not Bob Barker and the show seems to have lost it's appeal to me.
I also like to watch Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Deal or No Deal (if that is a game show).
