A little bit from memory... he talks about coming in late on the film, how they had de-ratted the rats and he changed that, talked about how the film was so rich that they had been having a hard time finding the core of the film.

About half way thru (the first one is the only one I've watched so far) he starts talking about the Blu-ray and DVD the tech. and such.

Then he starts talking (very Lucas-esqe) about how he's never happy/done with the film and how he will continue to work on it. Talks about how sometimes there isn't time to do some shots the way he wants them and meet the sched. So after the theatrical he gets the shots the way he wants them for the home vid. I think he said there were about 10 shots in Rat that will be different than the theatrical e.g. Remy will get a chef's hat at the end of the film.

Thanks for the summary. I actually just got done watching the first part, as well.

I don't mind him making those subtle changes, really. The thing is, I hope that, 20 years down the road, he doesn't actually become Lucas, and change the films completely!

Every time I think about Fullscreen vs Widescreen it reminds me of the quote by John Carpenter (director):

"For everyone that cares about the movie, give them widescreen. Let all the idiots have fullscreen."

(Paraphrased of course, but that was the definite intent of the statement.)

I don't know if this has been asked yet, but will "Ratatouille" be one or two discs?

It's a 1-disc only, but wal-mart will have a bonus disc with it.

Thank you for the information! I believe I'll probably buy my copy at Best Buy. It may have already been posted, but, they are giving away free Movie Cash to see Enchanted in theaters. I believe it is a $7.00 value.

I know how we 'love' discussing slip covers on this site... hee hee.

Does this Walmart exclusive also get the slipcover?... Is the second DVD in a separate DVD case ?

So Movie Cash at Best Buy, and a cooking Bonus DVD at Wal-Mart... has anyone heard about any other exclusives?

I might just pick this up at Best Buy. I was hoping someone would have a bonus disc similar to the ones offered for Cars.

Thought you guys might be as anxious as me as to what the physical form looks like:

At times so close to release date, I become super nerdy where anything about the movie will excite me. 8)

Target - Low price with an exclusive Bonus DVD "Features never before seen footage including behind the scenes character profiles and more."

Circuit City - Free chef's hat and apron with purchase, also save $5 if you buy Ratatouille and Pixar Short Films Collection together. ($14.99 and $19.99 respectively)

I wish Best Buy would offer a $5 dollar off promotion when you buy Ratatouille and the Pixar Shorts together. The movie cash doesn't really interest me that much because I don't think I will be seeing "Enchanted" in the theater.

Well, with the movie cash you can see it for free so if you don't like it you're not out anything. You might love it, you never know. I think I might get the Target version, since they are saying that their bonus DVD actually has movie related extras. Just as long as they aren't charging too much extra for it (since they all charge extra for the free bonus stuff now, hrumph) and as long as it has a significant run time. I bought a Saw 3 DVD from there, paid extra and their bonus disc was only 6 or 7 minutes long. If they do that again, I think I'll take it back and complain.

I am leaning towards the Bonus Disc from Target unless the chef's hat and apron from Circuit City has the Ratatouille logo. Then again, even if it doesn't have the logo stamped on it, it would still be cool to put it up in my room.

I think the Target deal is th best one. The price is good and the bonus DVD is not like the Wal-Mart one, but actually movie-related.
The chef's hat could be cute though.

Looks like the Target one is probably the one I'll pickup depending on price. However I am tempted by the Circuit City $5 off when you buy both Ratatouille and the Pixar Shorts.

I will buy Ratatouille at Target. It seems like the most reasonable deal.

Watching the movie again I realized something about Anton Ego. In the movie he is called "The Grim Eater" and he is portrayed as a dark character whose reviews can make or break a restaurant. His office is even shaped like a coffin! When he harshly reviews Gusteau's, Gusteau dies. So Ego can LITERALLY kill someone with his reviews! :o

I just looked at targets weekly ad & it looks like they'll be selling it for $15.99. Sounds like a good deal to me :D
