I know, I was so upset when I didn't get it! I literally wanted to cry (all this over a Queen? A *transforming* Queen!). Harrumph to McDonald's employees who don't give the right toy!

I tried to find a picture of the transforming Queen/Old Hag, but could only find this group shot. Either way, they were probably one of my favorite sets of Happy Meal toys (well, I only have the Prince and Sleepy). They're so...precious...

Then I decided to check YouTube...and DAMMIT! The one commercial I found does not feature the transforming Queen/Old Hag!

Disney Villain: Oh dear...

Mirror: You still want to tap that?

Mirror: (not paying attention) I'm sorry, what?

Disney Villain: You know...take her to the forest...use her voice to kill the animals...get me a pig's heart for my collection...

(Disney Villain leaves. Huntsman comes in.)

Huntsman: His Majesty sent for me. What is it, Magic Mirror?

Mirror: I honestly wasn't paying attention. I think Disney Villain wants you to take Snow White into the forest and kill her because her voice is deadly. And something about a pig's heart for his collection.

Huntsman: Will do.

(Huntsman exits. Scaps comes out of hiding, and passes a $20 through the Mirror to the disembodied head.)

Scaps: Thanks.

Mirror: Anytime.

ETA:

To avoid further accusations of "bashing" the beloved Snow White, let me just remind readers that the Huntsman didn't have the nerve to kill Snow White, and so he DOESN'T. Proof that men can be afraid of women, and that at least one person in the movie is given a complex multi-layered personality, despite being in probably 3 minutes of the film. All this post was, really, was a little fun recasting and a brief anachronistic cameo. Anyone seeing it as anything else should stop taking my humorous posts seriously.

If I wasn't already despairing enough as it is.

But now what a gem!

Madagascar and Shark Tale are good and Prince of Egypt and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron are awful.

One Who Must Learn the Proper Definition of bashing wrote:Ooooo, sure, you can kill and bash Snow White and her beautiful voice! whenever you want but i can't bash Kida!,oops,i mean Shika.

<snip>

And Escapay can bash Snow White and tell us stories about how he whould like to kill or using her voice to kill poor cute animales but no one else can bash Kida or Nakoma!.
By its definition, bashing is the excessive and harsh criticism of a character, idea, institution, etc. Within fandom it's often met with vehement counterattacks by the gushers of whatever someone is bashing, or with scorn and disdain by disillusioned neutral parties who grow tired of the endless debates.

I truly doubt that replacing "the Queen" with "Disney Villain" in the opening scene of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, along with my own humorous rewriting and brief meta-fictional inclusion would be along the lines of bashing. After all, as we all know, the Huntsman couldn't go through with it, so Snow White ran away and found the Dwarfs anyway. Just because I didn't type the rest of the movie out doesn't mean I had her killed. Sheesh!

Constantly saying that Kida is ugly and a monkey...that's bashing, and is often a sign of forum immaturity, especially if it can't be backed up by valid opinions and criticisms.

You want bashing? This is bashing: (and I don't mean a word of any of the example as it's something I'd never ever say in an actual forum conversation)

OMFG, SNOW WHITE HAS SUCH AN ANNOYING SHRILLY VOICE! I CAN'T STAND IT AND THE MOVIE SUX BECAUSE OF IT!!!!!!11 I HOPE TO GOD THAT SHE DIES A SLOW AND PAINFUL DEATH BECAUSE HER VOICE ANNOYED ME SO MUCH! ONLY DOGS SHOULD BE ABLE TO HEAR THAT FREQUENCY, SO ANYONE THAT LIKES HER VOICE IS A DOG! YOU HEAR THAT? PEOPLE WHO LIKE THE MOVIE AND HER VOICE ARE ALL DOGS!!!

So, my friend, quit saying I bash certain characters when all I ever do is criticize their shortcomings and call them by my affectionate silly nicknames which nobody really should take so seriously.
Mr. Crane, perhaps the strangest schoolteacher that ever lived wrote:I think I may have just had a stroke.
You and me both.

I loved The Prince of Egypt, it truly stands out as a visual masterpiece, and the songs are quite epic as well. Of course, I'm a bit biased as my favorite movie ever (like, ever ever) is The Ten Commandments, which has influenced me to partly become unconditionally loving towards any other adaptation of the Moses story. Still, I can still recognize the movie's shortcomings (it's a bit high-horsed in trying to be this animation spectacular, and the characters aren't as developed as I'd like), and I'd classify it among Pocahontas and Hercules, in that they're really stylistic pictures that tell a story through familiar historical/mythical means. The message and design is more important than the story accuracy or the character development, IMO. Plus, there were thankfully no plucky comic-relief sidekicks. It was like watching a live-action drama/musical in animated form, which ironically gave way to Val Kilmer (voice of Moses) doing the L.A. The Ten Commandments musical, which I have yet to see.

Four points:

Point 1: I didn't deny that I'm bashing. I factually stated that I am not bashing. I gave examples and reasons and definitions that prove I do not bash.

Point 2: The dog's name is Gromit. And in my example, my fictional fanboy said that because Snow White's voice is so high, only dogs should be able to hear it, meaning that PEOPLE who like Snow White's voice are dogs. And again, I must say that I do NOT mean a word of that fictional fanboy bashing of Snow White, I wrote it merely to prove a point, which so far has flown over someone's head, past the target, around the world, and back in the sling of arrows.

Point 3: What more do I want? At the very least, correct grammar. At most, conversation that isn't limited to fanboy vernacular of "I love this because I love this!" or "I hate that because I hate that!".

Point 4: I like Belle and Mulan, no need for me to bash them. I'll leave that to your capable hands.

Disney Villain does look very much like a male version of Queen Grimhilde. We were discussing physical resemblances to Disney characters earlier, and I truly agree that he does share quite a few of her features, especially from certain angles.

This Ariel'sprince drama has been making me laugh SO MUCH. =3 Whatever Your Name Actually Is, do you realize how foolish you are making yourself look? "normal like Snow White!" This is forum troll behavior, to be honest.

Disney Princess and the Horribleness that is their Marketing

Post by Disney Duster »

Ariel'sprince, don't leave just because one or two people are saying you are foolish. There's more people who are trying to work with you and talk to you and agree with what you're saying about Disney.

Prudence, hey, I think Ariel'sprince was just pointing out some horrible stereotyping and predjudice on Disney's account that many people are too blind or don't care to see, and I agree with him. He wasn't just trying to make people angry, but often something controversial or trying to make change or show people something they don't want to see will cause anger or fighting. And what if he is a little crueler than most in voicing his dislike of a character. Perhaps he says monkey for comedic effect, it's not his fault we don't find it funny.

Backcauldron85, you may not like Dreamworks, but unless something is just meant for adults, we should show are children lots of different things so they can find out what they truly like. If they turn out to like Dreamworks more, you have to be okay with it.

Scaps, funny little screenplay excerpt! But Snow White's voice actually seemed to attract the animals. She could lure them to the Huntsman, which would echo the scene with Princess Clara and that pig who ate her animals on Drawn Together. I had the Shrill and her wishing well as my toy, don't know how I got it, and I personally thought the well was cool because it's a nice color, that's the whole color, which is interesing, an aquamarine well, and I just love plastic toys and figures, there's something about them. And I never would have guessed The Ten Commandments would be your favorite movie! I thought it would be some musical, and certainly not something religious. Well, a good movie's a good movie.

Disney Villain, I agree, you do look like the Queen, you and you're girlfriend are pretty and cute, and I was right, your girlfriend does look like a goth chick! She likes your black hair and paleness. And what's up with your uncle, you turned out to be a great guy, it's just more of an insult to say that your'e cousin turning out like you is a bad thing! Tell him how horrible an insult that is and that you're cousin will only be happy deciding what he wants, not letting his father decide for him. Maybe he will even respect this act of manliness, standing up to your family.

You have no idea how much I despise my uncle. I had a two hour argument with him over the classic Disney films and how their not just for children...but that there are actually more people, other than myself, who watch and enjoy these timeless masterpieces. Don't worry, I already explained to him how horrible an insult that was to me. I have a very large family, with 8 younger cousins, all girls except for the little boy. I play with those kids all the time. I can't even begin to explain to you how much those girls are obsessed with the Disney Princesses. We play princess all the time. We act out the films, sing songs, play the games. If it's Disney Princess we enjoy it. Now that there is a boy, I guess my uncle does not want him to be influenced by all these girls. But your right, my cousin has the right to choose what kind of person he wants to be.

We act out the films, sing songs, play the games. If it's Disney Princess we enjoy it. Now that there is a boy, I guess my uncle does not want him to be influenced by all these girls. But your right, my cousin has the right to choose what kind of person he wants to be.
Your female cousins know the Princesses from the films? my female cousin dosn't even know them (most of those little girls are exited of the Princesses becouse of their dresses, they didn't even know the characters or the films),she only know Snow White and Jasmine and she still buy Ariel and Aurora stuff (she's allways get confuesed with Aurora and Cinderella).

Disney Dust and Disney Villain? Give them to Mikey, he'll try anything. He likes it! Hey Mikey! wrote:Scaps, funny little screenplay excerpt! But Snow White's voice actually seemed to attract the animals. She could lure them to the Huntsman, which would echo the scene with Princess Clara and that pig who ate her animals on Drawn Together.

Escapay, you are the greatest. I can't even begin to explain how hard I was laughing after reading your clever post. To set the record straight I love Snow White, and therefore would NEVER try to kill her. Escapay, your story was very clever...I loved every second of it. It's exactly how it would have happed if I were the Evil Quee....er....King. Snow White is beautiful and all..but I would so rather have Aurora (this is sick...isn't it...I mean their Disney Characters!!!). That was just awesome!!! I loved it, Thanks so much
 Thanks, both Mikes! One of my favorite things to do at UD is randomly start writing really oddball stories related to whatever someone just said. I think one of my favorites was when Alan was asking a million common sense questions that someone else (I think Wondy) said that Alan would do bad at Jeopardy, so I ended up writing an entire skit with Alan, RJKD, and Loomis on Jeopardy! And I remember writing one where Marvin from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was bought by reyquila.

Yeah, I think it's the sheer accuracy (well, to an extant) that plastic action figures had is what made me like them so much. I have probably over 50 "Star Trek" figures still in my room, along with a bevy of little Disney figurines. And I've got a whole row of little PVC figures just standing in a row on my shelf. It's like they're staring at me, saying, "Play with us, Albert! Play with us!"
You lucky Disney Villain, you got the transforming Queen! wrote:Oh BTW I had those McDonald'ds toys as a child. I used to play with the transforming Queen Grimhildie, Snow White, and the Prince with his white horse (I still have the prince and horse)
The quote name says it all. You got the transforming Queen! You're so lucky!
Oh Moses, Moses, you stubborn splendid adorable fool! wrote:And I never would have guessed The Ten Commandments would be your favorite movie! I thought it would be some musical, and certainly not something religious. Well, a good movie's a good movie.
Hehe, yeah, a lot of people are surprised when they hear it's my favorite movie. I first saw it when I was five years old, and quite literally fell in love with the whole 3-hour 39-minute affair. I can't remember what exactly it was back in 1990 that appealed to me so much about the film, but these days, it's more about the theatricality of the production, the wonderful costumes and expansive sets, and the overall message that asks more about personal freedoms and the true power of law. It's certainly not the best movie I've ever seen (the line in the quote is one example of the overtly-melodramatic dialogue), but will always be my favorite to watch.

And if it's any consolation, my favorite musical is 1953's The Band Wagon. Watching Cyd Charisse and Fred Astaire in "Dancing in the Dark" has got to be the most sensual dance sequence I've ever seen! It's just such a powerful scene, with a fury of passion and chemistry that's intermixed with a very posh and refined style:

"Dancing in the Dark"

Then of course, later on it's completely countered by a very staccato-like and energetic jazz bit during the "Girl Hunt Ballet":

"Girl Hunt Ballet"

The Ten Commandments is your favorite movie Escapay? Like the 1956 one? No kidding, thats one of mine and my Mom's favorites lol.

Out of the many melodramatic quotes from the movie this one always cracks me up, and I have no idea why.

Nefertiri: Who is this fair young God to come into the house of Pharaoh?

Haven't seen it in a while, talking about it makes me want to watch it again lol.

I can't answer for Sir Disney Dust, but I definitely see the family resemblance. You could pass for twins!
