Oh, HAPPY DAY! I love Whoopi! She is the one I've been pulling for. I am very excited about this news, and I hope that she accepts. She better!AwallaceUNC wrote:Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd have officially been offered the replacement spots for Rosie O'Donnell and Star Jones Reynolds, respectively. Both stars are expected to accept and are in negotiations, finalizing their contracts, and their hiring is expected to be announced next week.

Funny thing is, I searched Google, looked at some pictures, read her resume, and realized I have never seen her in my life. All of the things she's been in, I have never watched. She also looks a little like Star Jones, before Star "lost" the weight.Lazario wrote:Her first big thing was being something of a regular on Suddenly Susan. Then she did The Jamie Foxx Show. Then she became a regular on Less Than Perfect. And did some recurring spots on Everybody Loves Raymond. But she's definitely one of those faces and voices that everyone remembers once they've seen her. I knew exactly who she was when AWU said her name.
I agree. Whoopi is an Oscar, Emmy, Tony, and Grammy winning artist that deserves better than being on a daytime talk show. But, like Aaron said earlier, the movie roles haven't been coming in, so maybe this is a better choice for her.Lazario wrote:I think it's a huge come-down for Whoopi.
Wait a second... Doesn't Ellen have a daytime talk show?Anthony wrote:Whoopi is an Oscar, Emmy, Tony, and Grammy winning artist that deserves better than being on a daytime talk show.
Ooh, I didn't think about that.Anthony wrote:But, like Aaron said earlier, the movie roles haven't been coming in, so maybe this is a better choice for her.
Joy was once a comedian? I did not know this. It's true, she's not very funny. And she seemed to have more sass than Rosie did. Was less serious in tone about the issues. But still, I thought she was... Well, I didn't know what she was. But I don't think she's very funny. We'll see about Whoopi and Sherri though. I haven't seen much of Sherri's comedy acts. Actually, I haven't seen anything of Sherri's comedy. But her shows were a bit dull. Hopefully, she'll be funny here.Anthony wrote:Although I do think that with Whoopi, Sherri and Joy all on the panel it'll be a lot of former comedians trying to get the laughs at the same time, which can get annoying.
nah, Kathy is hysterical. Love her.Lazario wrote:I also don't think Kathy's humor would often be that favorable with the View's audience. Plus, she curses quite a bit.
Yep Aaron, I've heard it on "Board Reflections" last week where Allan Sniffen was talking about Whoopi Goldberg wasn't successful on WKTU, but the NYC Arbitrons came out a week ago that Whoopi's show on WKTU are not that strong in mornings, but it did really poor in New York City during the rest of the morning.AwallaceUNC wrote:What makes you say her radio show hasn't been successful?
