IGN.com has reviewed the Wii version of Ratatouille. It was given a 7.0 (Decent) rating.

Overall, they liked the game. From the closing comments:

The label "kid's game" is usually a license for a publisher to make a poor product and shove it out the door. However, Ratatouille is for the most part a well-made, but basic platformer that is usually fun despite its lack of originality. I don't think younger players will mind that the majority of the gameplay types included in the project have been done before or that Ratatouille doesn't floor anybody with its innovative usage of the Wii remote. They will undoubtedly enjoy this game because it capitalizes on the license, it's easily picked up and mastered and because it offers a single-player mode that flows along, not to mention a selection of multiplayer mini-games to back it up. Still, these are issues and we can't ignore them completely simply because a portion of the audience will.

I asked for the Ratatouille game for my Nintendo DS for my birthday next week. I hope I get it, it looks really cute and fun.

I have to say that it's very rare for movies to get such positive reviews by all on rottentomatoes.com.

If you haven't checked the reviews out there yet, I recommend it. It made me totally psyched to go see this on Saturday (wish I could on Friday to boost opening day sales, but have to work).

I was expecting to see this some time soon with my daughter and to my horror I've just discovered that we won't be getting Ratatouille in the UK until October 5th!!!

Did I miss something? What the hell is going on?

I have Saturday off and guess what I'm going to do?

I'm looking forward to this movie more than I've looked forward to one in a while. I realized a few days ago that this will be the first Pixar film I've seen in the theater since Toy Story 2, back when I actually ran a movie theater.

MM1, I agree completely. I personally don't care how much it makes. The only reason I mentioned money in my earlier post is because I don't want Pixar to change the way they make movies if the grosses start to fall off. I seriously doubt they would, so it was probably a foolish thing to mention anyway.

It happened. Someone posted a negative review for Ratatouille on rottentomatoes: http://regulus2.azstarnet.com/blogs/philmguy/4650. We can't say we didn't see it coming. There's bound to be at least a few people in the mass who hates the film. It's odd, I read the review, and it seems they are critiquing Brad Bird rather than Ratatouille. Oh well, the good thing is that the comments posted for his review are more good reviews of the film.

I could care less about him. From the looks of it, he did not really like any of Brad Bird's movies at all.

I was a moron when I inhumanly sabotaged The Incredibles. Gone are the days of me calling it the "WORST" Disney•Pixar film. After a recent viewing, I was enlightened by Brad Bird's outstanding direction. Soon, I'll have to order a vegetable stew called Ratatouille and see if Bird's culinary skills gratify my ravenous appetite.

Does anyone know if the sneak preview box office totals will be added in with this weekend's totals for "Ratatouille"? BoxOfficeMojo.com doesn't list any money made by "Ratatouille" yet. My husband thought that the "Ratatouille" sneak preview's money went towards POTC:AWE, which I think is stupid, if true. Many people who saw "Ratatouille" during the sneak preview won't be seeing it this weekend, which, if the previous total isn't included with this weekend's total, could hurt the opening box office numbers, which is misleading.

I'm sick of people always mentioning how much a movie makes, and if it doesn't make a gajillion dollars, then it's a craptastic movie. Please. Some of my favorite Disney movies didn't make much money at the theater ("The Black Cauldron", "Atlantis", "Treasure Planet"), and they're wonderful movies. It just stinks how some people write off these movies as being bad, when they're just not.

I posed this question before, but, nobody provided an answer. So, I did a little investigatin, myself. It is true, the money from the sneak peek of Ratatouille went towards the total of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, during that Saturday. Yes, it is stupid, but, that's how they do it.

As far as a film having to make a ton of money to be considered good...well, that's crazy! I agree, the quality of a film shouldn't be judged by how much money it makes. I'm hoping that Ratatouille will blow the Box Office away, personally. However, with the current trend of Box Office totals falling well below expectations (as far as domestic totals go), I'm trying to tame my expectations.

Thanks, MMO! That makes me so mad. Does Disney want "Ratatouille" to fail? Why would they add the $ to POTC? That movie didn't need much monetary help. They are sabataging this film's money intake!!!!!!! I just don't understand Disney sometimes!!! Do most sneak previews put the money earned towards an already-out movie?!?!?

Disney doesn't care that it went to the Pirates total because the money goes back to them anyways. They could care less about impressing people with a big number at the Box Office for Ratatouille. It's sad really, goes to show how much Disney cares about the animated movies they release...as long as it makes some money.

Brad Bird has such bad luck at the Box Office. The Iron Giant didn't make much at all, The Incredibles grossed much less than Finding Nemo, and now Ratatouille has some of its BO takings away.

Well, keep in mind, Pirates of the Caribbean's budget was $300 million, more so than any film. While they've definitely have made enough worldwide to get a profit, they want it domestically too.

I can predict the future: Ratatouille will get #2 at the BO, Die Hard getting first, and like Cars' controversity it got when it lost the Oscar, everybody on various forum(except this forum as everyone here only cares about news that involves a red-headed fish) will be ranting and discussing away.

Well I SOMEHOW convinced my father to make a FOUR hour drive to Oakville, Ontario to go to the uber cool drive-in there. Tonight I will see a TRIPLE Feature of Ratatouille, Ocean's Thirteen & Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (my forth time & counting). It will start at 9:45pm and end about 5:00am! I am SO psyched!
