My 5 1/2 year old niece LOVES Cinderella, but also loves Ariel. I voted for Cinderella though.
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

Personally, my favorite princess is Belle (although I don't really consider her a Princess unlike Jasimine, Ariel, Snow White, or Aurora. I mean, she was the daughter of an inventor, not of a king = not biological a princess!)

Interesting point about her not being a princess based on lineage! I voted for Ariel even though I don't know hardly anything about the majority of these princesses since I haven't seen most of these movies. Based on observations which include what I see little girls wearing, who has the most Disney product, it seems to be Ariel. My favorite is Snow White - she holds a special place in my heart.

Do you guys think there ever could be an Ariel backlash? She is toooo popular and you know how it is when something gets too popular, it becomes passe' (gets old hat, yesterday's news). So the girls then latch on to a newer less appreciated princess in order to stand out and be different. Or is that just not possible in the girls through tweens world? Like when everyone buys the Razr phone, but now it isn't cool because everyone has one...
yeah she'll go out of style after Jeans go out of style  .

I just saw Jasmine for the first time at Disneyland. She came out to take picture with the kids - some big (grown woman had her picture taken with her). She was gorgeous! She wore a beautiful soft turquoise colored outfit like "I Dream of Jeannie" wore and I tried to get a picture, but she left for a break before I could get it lined up. When she returned 20 mins later, she had a matching cloak on - not as good a picture, but it was a pretty cloak. I was wondering if she put it on because she was attracting attention in that outfit, or if it was because it was a little chilly that day.

Has anyone seen Pocahontas walking around in Disneyland or in WDW?

My sister tells me there is a place in Disneyland where you can meet all the princesses at the same time and have your picture taken with them. I am not sure what "all" means (who's included or not). She says the line is always really long - too long for her 2 1/2 year old to wait in.

Princesses

Post by prettyboystyle1 »

I mainly went for the ethnic princesses. I LOVE Pocahontas, Mulan, and Jasmine! I also love Esmerelda, but I don't know if you would consider her ethnic. Below is a pic of Pocahontas at Animal Kingdom, and below that is Aladdin and Jasmine and Magic Kingdom, Orlando. Last is Ariel also at Magic Kingdom.

i've seen Mulan with Mushu at Calafornia Adventure near Paradise Pier. :P the place you might be thinking of is the Princess Meet and Great at the Fantasyland Theatre where you can meet Cindy(i can see a happy Prudence right now :P ), Snow White, Aurora, Belle, and one other princess i think.

Is Meg ethnic? Hmm she is Greek. I just never think of her that way because of her voice I guess!

That's the first time I've seen a picture of Pocahontas at the park. I think it's pretty neat.

I voted for Ariel. I dont like Disney's Cinderella very much. She seems helpless and dumb. So life gave you an unfair shake, do something about it!

Definatley Cinderella. I've never seen any Disney Princess merchandise without Cinderella on it. She's just an iconic figure of Disney like Mickey Mouse. After her I'd say Ariel would be the next big princess. Belle and Aroura get their fair of lime light too. Jasmine and Snow White used as much as the others which I think is a shame because Snow is the orginal and Jasmine adds diversity.

I like Ariel best, because she's a mermaid.

But I voted Cinderella. She is probably to children the most realistic and easiest to identify with.

A normal girl who goes from rags to riches. Its a thought few little girls in this world have never had before. I mean, who wouldn't want to go from their regular, mundane life to being that of a princess? Finding your prince by chance?

She has her own show at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Live birds, raccoons, even rats come out for the show.

I get the joke. But that's because I have a sick and twisted sense of humor like that.
