Meet The Robinsons: Loved Boat Buliders, felt like I was ina 20's audience and really appericated the restoration. The Robinsons was stunningly creative, payed homage to certain Disney history, the characters came off very warmly and cliche.




W.T.D: Your Host Walt Disney: I missed out on DisneyLand USA, so I thought I'd get a Walt Disney show, he was a very good host, right up there with Larry King, Peter Jennings. I wish they'd included Walt Disney X-mas Show and One Hour In Wonderland on the disc.

I generally agree about wanting the movies to be more like the books, but S.P.E.W. is the one and only thing I really can't stand in the books, and I just don't see where it's leading (I of course might have to eat my words come July 21st ) so I am glad they left that out! That said, GoF is easily my favorite movie of the serie. PoA is a better movie in itself, but GoF is a much better adaptation of the book, I don't know if you get what I'm saying!

You really feel that way about S.P.E.W.? I guess we will have to see. I understand about GoF and PoA. If PoA was the only made HP film, without even having the other books made into films, or typed out on paper, it would easily be the best. But in the series, Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone and GoF are obviously the best adapted. The only thing that I don't like in the films is that Hermione becomes less and less of what she is supposed to be, and is becoming an emotional toad. The first film was by far the best adaptation of Hermione because she came across on the screen as she did in the book, but she has slowly declined and I don't think that's why I'm liking the films that much. It's all because of Hermione! Not that Emma Watson's not doing anything for me

Anyway, I started watching "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" today, but I didn't finish, I don't even think I got half way through, but that's okay. I'm sick today, and had to stay home from school. My Strep tests, yes I got two of the most terrifying thing ever, came back negative, but I can't do anything about it, I'm just taking drugs and sucking on cough drops, so I hope that helps.

I've always had conflicts myself with this one. It is definitely a really... sarcastic movie. And there's a lot of anti-PC humor, which is surprising in a movie about a teenage beauty pageant in a Redneck Country high school. But... the mockumentary format? Ehhh...not sure that works for this sort of thing. It really works in some sequences. Like the "meat packing" Queen. And the girl who can hear and talk but speaks sign language as a talent. And of course... ALLISON JANNEY. I cannot, do not, will not watch The West Wing... but that woman is so funny in this movie, everyone who loves comedy needs to see this movie just for her performance in it. Who know she was this damn funny?!

I watched:

Disturbing Behavior (1998) - absolutely dreadful. Poorly directed, poorly written, ultra-contrived mess of a teen horror conspiracy thriller. A transparent rip-off of The Stepford Wives & Westworld combined. D-. It's only saving grace, and I don't know how it really saves the movie because the movie is that bad, is a very interesting scene featuring a girl bashing her head into a mirror- she grabs one of the broken shards and attack someone with it, only to fall, get up with bleeding head and say with dead seriousness, "I've gotta go, I have a big test tomorrow!"


Gossip (2000) - hmmm... It's not bad. Really. Strangely. But it's not very good either. Biggest problems are that it's very confusing and unoriginal. But it's well acted, stylish, and fast paced. B-

I finally got around to watching Brother Bear last night. Unfortunately, it had been a while since I looked at the package or read the UD review, so I just grabbed Disc 1 and put it in the player.

I really enjoyed it and can't believe I let it go into my DVD pile and get forgotten like it did. (My DVD's were horribly disorganized at my old place and I actually discovered a few that I didn't know I had. Pathetic, I know.) I'd even say it ranks as one of my favorite Disney movies now. So, I get to the end and when the credits start up I see the aspect ratio change, and I think to myself, "Oh no. Did I just do what I think I did?" Yep I watched the "family-friendly widescreen" version.

Oh well, at least I liked the movie enough to watch it again soon, and I'll do it properly this time.

I, too, watched Brother Bear for the first time yesterday (but with the OAR )! Frankly, my expectations were kind of low, but my boyfriend and I liked it a lot! It's a great story and I love "On My Way".

I saw Blades of Glory at the theatre today. It had a couple of funny scenes and Will Ferrell was pretty good. I give it either a 3.5 or a 4 out of 5.

The Night Listener. Very boring. This film is only 80 minutes long but it felt like 3 hours! Very slow, unoriginal and completely unsatisfying ending.

I finally got round to watch my Peter Pan PE. It's still as lovely a movie as it ever was. I hadn't seen it in years, so this was really great!

Just got back from seeing Grindhouse for the second time. Great movie, and it is definitely not for the squeamish or for anyone under the age of 17.

Alien vs. Predator - talk about a big bucket of crap, that is towards the end. I liked the beginning but it started becoming stupid when that chick teamed up with the Predator. Predators don't team up with humans; they kill humans. I thought the movie was too short and they could have developed the plot better. I was actually hoping to see Sigourney Weaver, Danny Glover and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie.

"Bambi II". I bought it when it came out, but I just got around to watching it. It was really cute. I had to grab tissues a couple times to dry my eyes, too. And, the animation was really good- I don't think it's near as good as the original "Bambi", but, for a sequel, it looked really good, especially the backgrounds.

Silly Syphonies v.2 I love this genre, not too in your face (except the Ub Iwerks trademarks) less annoying characters, beautifuly animated. I highly recommend the series anytime.

My fav. shorts are Cock O'Walk, Mother Goose Goes Hollywood, Pied Piper, etc. It's amazing how some of these shorts were almost forgetten.

Don't take this the wrong way...

But we've heard that said about so many movies so many times before. The "squeamish" thing. Does anyone actually believe that anymore? I'm not squeamish by nature (although there are a lot of things, content-wise, that one could be squeamish toward), but movies like Meet the Feebles make me squeamish for one 95-minute sitting. You ever seen Meet the Feebles, junkie?



I watched Peter Jackson's classic Dead-Alive (1992) (97m, Unrated)
then watched Lucky McKee's May (2002), but I talked through most of it so I wasn't paying attention.
