I forgot about "The Comeback" in my list. That show was hysterical. Thanks for reminding me, xxhplinkxx. I have it on DVD and it was great to get to watch it all again. "Fatty had a party and nobody came!"

I also miss the sitcom "I'm With Her" with David Sutcliffe and Teri Polo. I thought this show was quite funny and also cute. It had an entertaining premise that I believe should have caught on.

Gargoyles. But at least they finally brought it back and are continuing it in comic book form.

Yeah, who likes 7 seasons of quality writing on TV nowadays?
I didn't say "quality writing." Turkey = bad. I'm telling you, you set yourself up for that one. :P

Besides Gargoyles.

Buffy: TVS also I'm with ya there Mutant Enemy. Also Birds of Prey. That one was never given a chance.

Also Dinosaurs. And anyone remember Scorch? Old sitcom out around the time of Alf. It was very campy and silly, but I loved it as a kid. I remember a man (I think he had a kid) and he found an egg and it hatched and inside was a baby dragon. The puppet was adorable. I found this website about it: http://www.ronnlucas.com/scor1.htm

Some things that come to mind

Soap......They just left as hanging. Highly rated but to contraversial for advertisers.
WKRP In Cincinatti.

Both incredibly funny.

Battlestar Gallactica---only one season. Good ratings but too expensive.

Wild, Wild West - Highly rated but too many complaints for being too violent.

I just remembered a few short-lived ... but truly enjoyable shows ...

First ... The Critic ... great great show!

Temporarily Yours with Debi Mazar ... loved it!

As well as Fired Up with Sharon Lawrence and Leah Remini ...

And ... FAT ACTRESS with the wonderful Kirstie Alley! (Let's add Veronica's Closet too :) )

Well going back a ways for the first one:

Taxi: Most brilliant comedy ever made! The writers were absolute geniuses and as of 2007, it still holds the record for having the greatest cast ever casted for a t.v. show. It's a sad turn of fate when it switched from ABC to NBC and had to get cancelled after only 5 seasons. One of the producers agreed and made a similar show called "Cheers", which while funny, didn't have quite the brilliance in writing or acting as in Taxi, yet was the one that went on 11 seasons.

Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: One of Disney's best animated show of recent years. The animation was really good actually, and the characters, plot, and voice acting was absolutely great. I was absolutely obsessed with this show, as were my friends, but yet, it never caught on. It's a shame when crap like Kim Possible can keep on going and going beyond 3 seasons while this is never even given a chance on it's first and only season.

And... that's really it. Every other show I can think of at the moment had a fair run or outstayed it's welcome.

One of my favorite quotes from "The Comeback" that I use fairly often is "You see a box of puppies, I see Korean barbecue!" lol. I miss that show. I love the commentary on the DVD by Valarie Cherish, and not Lisa Kudrow. Hystericl.

Quantum Leap and Taxi are also good answers. I am less upset that they cancelled Quantum Leap that they never made the feature movie to wrap it up that they were going to.

Also with Taxi - ABC cancelled it and NBC came to an agreement with the producers. So the move was a good thing it gave us one more season. And it was brilliant but at least we got five seasons out of it.

It was a show back many years ago (1997) ... If I am not mistaken it was produced by the people behind THE NANNY ... so it was Fran Dresher and her ex hubby ...

Mazar was a single woman ... recently jilted ... so she signed up at a temp agency that was owned by ... the wonderful ... Joanna Gleason ... and it even co-starred Seth Green ...

It only aired a few times after THE NANNY I think ... it was a midseason replacement that never caught on ... but it was so cute and funny ...

Here is a brief summary of the series I found on IMDB.com ...
Debi Mazar plays a New York City resident who lies about her place of employment to get dibs on a great apartment building. She reports to the temp agency she lied about and eventually gets a job there, only the owner thinks she isn't the right material, and so sends her on rather odd and difficult jobs in the hopes she can find cause to dismiss her.

---FUTURAMA!!! Although I am looking forward to the new episodes/movies/whatever it ends up being. I still watch it in Adult Swim.

---That 80's Show. I was about a bunch of collegeish age people in the 80's. It only lasted one season but deserved so much more. Tinsley Grimes was so funny in a lot of her scenes. My favorite scene was the one where they are in the car (1st episode i think) and they just bust out dancing. hilarious!!!! Should be on DVD.

---Out of This World. I loved this when I was a kid. She would touch her index fingers together and freeze time. Everyone around her would be frozen. I wish this would be released on DVD.

---Oblongs. Animated show about people who have various (for lack of a more pc word) deformities. I actaully got to interview Angus Oblong, the creator. And I got to meet him and got some original artwork by him. Anyway it was not as dark as he wanted it, but it was great!!!

---The New Tom Green Show. This was his talk show where he would interview other celebrities. MTV is STUPID for cancelling this. My boyfriend and I saw the taping a few times.

---Eerie Indiana. Great, Creative show for kids. Marshall lived in Eerie Indiana (obviously) where weird things always happened.

Can't think of any other really important ones I miss...But I know they are out there.

---Daria!!! Best Show EVER!!! Could have gone on forever (except Tom was kinda lame)
Yeah Disney!!!

I've been rewatching the series on my computer and with every episode, I'm reminded of how smartly-written and great this show was. If only it lasted a few more seasons, there's so much potential with the characters and stories. To think, it would be starting its fifth season now if it were still on television. Bobby would start his Senior Year of high school, Jack would be well into college or the armed forces (I forget in the continuity whether he was in college or immediately joined the army). Curse you, WB for canceling it because of low ratings! Curse you, audiences who chose to watch other things on Wednesday nights!

The Comeback- Was on HBO. I LOOOOOOOVED Lisa Kudrow in this, it was just uber funny.

Carnivale- WTF?! Another great show that HBO cancelled... morons.
I would also like to add Angel to my list. It ended on such a freaking cliffhanger! I know it's being continued now in comic books, but it would have been so much better to see on TV. I felt it had a at least a few more seasons left in it.
