Mickey's Sweetheart Stories DVD??

I think Disney releases things like this because of how hard it is to find some of the "Treasures" sets.

Then they should simly re-release the Treasures in budget form.

The collectors will still have the tins, and everybody who wants the toons can still have them. Look at Anchor Bay! How many times have they re-released "limited" sets in different forms? (e.g. the Army of Darkness Limited and Boomstick editions are same, and their discs have also been released separately).

Still, I DO like the idea of "theme" discs, as it reminds me of the afternoons when I watched what must have been the Wonderful World of Disney or something, and they had a "theme" (e.g. Halloween, Valentine's, Xmas etc).

We have the problem here in Australia (as they do in Europe) of have a bunch of these collections on the market, and THEN they release the Treasure sets. Either way, it is poor marketing - or very clever marketing, trying to cater to all groups (e.g. the Treasures for fans and collectors, and these sort of volumes for the parental unit to buy the kids).

I now own "Sweetheart Stories" and I love it. I don't care if I end up owning these shorts later in the "Treasures" sets. It's a perfect compilation of some of my favorite shorts. I wish they could have incorporated a Goofy short into it, but I guess there never was a "How To Fall In Love" short. He does make a short apperance in "Nifty Nineties," though. I had also never seen "In Dutch" before. It's a Pluto cartoon, and it's awsome!

I haven't bought the Winnie the Pooh one, but I could recommend it based simply on the fact that it is Pooh

As for the Mickey Sweetheart one, I would personally only buy that if you really wanted the toons. Otherwise, wait for a more completely collection or a Treasures re-issue.

It was on TV a few years ago, and there's a wonderful finale about friendship. Just the way it ended, I thought it would be the last Pooh flick! It was so heartwarming, and was a great representation of what the 100-Acre Wood and all its citizens are!

I actually ordered it as soon as I stepped off the forum yesterday...and believe it or not it had entered the "shipping process" within 5 minutes! Talk about fast service (Amazon, that is).

I think that is what I like about Pooh - the fact that they are cute and funny, as well as breaking your heart. Pooh's Grand Adventure (is this out in the US yet?) in particular has this feel. While the original Pooh shorts (on Many Adventures...) had a kind of whimsical sense of fun about them (Pooh wanting to be a little black raincloud to get honey etc), the more recent stories have been able to successfully balance between that and a sense of...heart I guess.

Look forward to the DVD now
