The collectors will still have the tins, and everybody who wants the toons can still have them. Look at Anchor Bay! How many times have they re-released "limited" sets in different forms? (e.g. the Army of Darkness Limited and Boomstick editions are same, and their discs have also been released separately).
Still, I DO like the idea of "theme" discs, as it reminds me of the afternoons when I watched what must have been the Wonderful World of Disney or something, and they had a "theme" (e.g. Halloween, Valentine's, Xmas etc).
We have the problem here in Australia (as they do in Europe) of have a bunch of these collections on the market, and THEN they release the Treasure sets. Either way, it is poor marketing - or very clever marketing, trying to cater to all groups (e.g. the Treasures for fans and collectors, and these sort of volumes for the parental unit to buy the kids).
