As a kid, I definitely would have said Flight of the Navigator, but I don't know if I could consider it a top fave today (haven't seen it in some time though).

Anyways, I can't remember if Scarecrow of Romney Marsh is officially a feature or not. If it is, it's definitely a fave too.

Also, since some of us have stepped into the 80s with this, gotta say "One Magic Christmas." And, there are probably more from around then that I'm forgetting.

Does Return to Oz really count as a Disney movie? It's being released by Anchor Bay, as far as I know.

The Cat From Outer Space is just awesome. I couldn't tell you why, but I used to be obsessed with that movie when I was little.

It was produced by Disney and is currently distributed on DVD by Disney. Even when it was only available on home video through Anchor Bay, it was still a Disney film on lease to them. However, as it was released in 1985, it doesn't qualify as a valid response to the original post.

My very favorite is Mary Poppins, followed very closely by The Parent Trap. I also enjoy Pollyanna, among others, while The Three Lives of Thomasina has always been a particular sentimental favorite even though I've found it lacking during more recent viewings.

I've never really liked much in terms of Disney live action *runs for cover* though The Parent Trap and Bedknobs and Broomsticks are favs of mine. I've yet to see Mary Poppins, but I do enjoy parodies of her so when I see the movie I'll probably enjoy it.

Sorry, didn't even catch that the first post said "before 1980." Definitely, the Disney stuff felt very different once 1980 came around, though I have some major favorites all the way through to today (just a few would be my number one favorite film, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and two other top faves, Adventures of Huck Finn starring Elijah Wood, and Hocus Pocus).

Anywho, I love Cat From Outer Space too, though maybe not as much as the stuff that I listed. I have the Anchor Bay release, but, sadly, I believe both that one and my Ancor Bay Black Hole DVD need replacing. A few of my discs got damaged some time ago, and I think those two were among them.
