what in the hell fire? Attina is a man? I don't believe that...cause it says He was born in 1981, So that means he was only like 8 when The Little Mermaid came out...Attina doesnt really sound like an 8 year old boy....

Besides IMDB isnt always right..people can write what ever they want on it.

well, i typed in "matthew balaban" into google and i got a result from amazon which i clicked on and it came up with the little mermaid, too.

maybe that's WHY they cast him as attina, jeremy88. because he was young and his voice was (probably) high pitched....maybe.

Adella: The Fat One?

Post by Disney Duster »

You know, it's true, Adella really is "the fat one" of the sisters. In the original movie, she is a little chubbier than the others. But then, I was watching The Little Mermaid animated series today, and in the episode "Save The Whale" or something, where Spot the whale returns, King Triton orders all the sisters inside the palace because a human ship is floating overhead. Each sister was doing something as she floated into the palace. One was reading a book, and I think another was looking at or painting her nails, and the others were doing other things. But Adella was eating. And I think it was a donut, which I don't get because I didn't know sea creatures could make donuts. Anyway, just like xxhplinkxx already said, she had notably more weight than in the original movie. So I guess they just decided that would be the extent of her characterization. Nice.

Oh, and the animated series can be seen on Disney Channel at 12:30 a.m., Eastern time.

Adella was always the "bigger" one on the series. It really wasn't fair. Anyway, a possibility she lost weight in the movie was that she went on a diet. The show is supposed to take place a year earlier.

Why not? :? Not everybody is always thin, I think it's neat they gave her some weight. Makes her stand out from the others, some people believe big is beautiful, to each his own I guess. LoL

I didn't mean it that way. I meant in the fact they really stero-typed her. Not every one who is big eats all the time. There's all kinds of different bodies and faces and each are beautiful.

Actually, its on the regular Disney Channel at 12:30 p.m. :D

And yea, Adella was always chunky in the series. In the movie she was basically the same as the other sisters. These cooky animators. :P

Wow, thank you Little Merboy! Oh, and I said was trying to point out that it was stereotypical that she was eating just because she was the heavier of the sisters. So, it seems they made her fat on purpose, and it didn't do much to expand her personality.

Anyway, UmbrellaFish actually got what I meant, that she was eating and I thought it was kind of low that they did that just because she was fat...

The merpeople can make an entire city underwater, their king has an unrusting metal staff that can shoot bolts of energy or turn someone into a human, a sea witch can work magic through her own cauldron and can capture people's voices in a shell...and you question the fact that they make donuts???? :P

I think DisneyDuster thinks you're from the Mountain Time Zone, where 12:30 there is 10:30 here in the Eastern Time Zon...no wait...that's the other way around, isn't it? Unless the Earth is spinning the opposite way now and we're actually going back in time a la Superman: The Movie?

Ariel's Sisters Discussion

Post by Disney Duster »

Oh sh*t, another informative crime...I DID mean 12:30. I'll go edit it...

Okay well, Escapay thanks for attempting to bail me out. Xxhplinkx, I put that in bold so people would see it better to overide my incorrect information.

What's wrong with me? 12:30, 12:30 12:30.

Oh and Escapay...well, my problem was it looked like a real donut, but I guess it could have been a "sea donut". Also, I'll send you an E-mail as soon as I actually have something to screencap. Lighthousemike made so many screencaps for Cindy III...there's nothing new I could contribute with a screencap for that of my own.

I always liked that Ariel had a chubbier sister.

Here is something I did when I was in high school that featured all of Ariel's sisters. I had my own ideas on who each sister was and their ages. (and, yes, I know I have some corrections to make in the names. I'm still working on my site. In my next update it will be corrected.)

And I'll throw this one out there. Does anyone ever wonder what happened to Urchin? Did he move away or marry one of the sisters or what? Do you think he had a crush on Ariel? If so, how did he feel when Ariel rejected him for the prince? Any thoughts.

Well I liked Urchin as a character. He couln't possibly get married to ANY of the 7 daughters of Triton because all of them were quite enough older than him. He seemed to me as a 12-year old child and Ariel was 15 years old in the series so even Ariel, the youngest one of all, was quite old for him. I don't think he had a crush on her. He always seemed to me like a second Flounder or something. Of course, in real world, 12-year old boys are always attracted to older girls, especially if we're talking about girls like Ariel- that means really hot!! :D But we're talking Disney now, where everything is covered with pixie dust. So,no, in TLM The Series, Urchin didn't seem to be in love with Ariel. He did care, but only as a brother. There's nothing about him feeling rejected I think.
