New Disney add! Celebrities in the pictures!
Clutching a sword in one hand and a lucrative contract - sorry, shield - in the other, David Beckham gallops straight into a high-profile American endorsement deal.
Although playing down accusations that his impending move to Los Angeles owes more to showbusiness than football, here he is on a white charger all dressed up in doublet and hose to advertise Disney.

From the Daily MailIn the picture, by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz, Beckham portrays the dragon-slaying Prince Philip from Sleeping Beauty.
The 31-year-old former England captain - who two weeks ago signed a £127 million deal with the LA Galaxy soccer club - appears with singer Beyonce Knowles, country star Lyle Lovett and actors Scarlett Johansson and Oliver Platt in the Disney campaign.
It will be featured in the March issues of U.S. magazines including Vanity Fair, GQ, Vogue, W, The New Yorker, Conde Nast Traveler and Cookie.
As Beckham's equestrian extravaganza was unveiled, friends revealed that he has been taking lessons to lower the pitch of his voice and is studying method acting.
It was also reported that he and his wife Victoria are considering an offer to star in their own fly-on-the-wall TV show when they move to Los Angeles.
It would be modelled on The Osbournes, which featured rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his dysfunctional family.

I wonder, is he working for Disney, or is Disney working for him. I suspect the latter.
Of course, with his squeaky voice, he'd be ideal as the new voice of Mickey Mouse. David Beckham must be the only person with PAL speed-up pitch change on his voice... in real life!

PLEASE REDUCE THE SIZE OF YOUR PICTURES.................YOU ARE EXPANDING THE BANDWIDTH AND THAT WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS DOWN THE ROAD!!!!
Why can't you just put a URL down for the other pictures, and we can click on them and see what we want. That is what a knowledgable, mature person would do, instead of blowing the bandwidth all to heck.

The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!
I LOVE my Blu-Ray Disc Player!
I LOVE my Blu-Ray Disc Player!
The pictures are awful. Truly awful.
a) Disney really don't need to stoop to the level of hiring A-list celebrities to get people's interest
b) There's quite a dark atmosphere in those photos, and since when did Disney take the twisted fairy tale approach?
c) The Alice in Wonderland one is pathetic. Could they have found three people to look less like the characters they were portraying if they'd tried?

While I agree that they could've found celebrities that looked more like their respective characters, I still find this pretty dang cool. The photos are beautifully rendered, and the concept itself is fascinating. I'd like to see more of these created. I wonder if these will move on to commercials, too. Oh, and I have to say that Oliver Platt makes a neat Mad Hatter, even if he reminds me more of the original Tenniel illustration than Disney's.

Here are some choices I'd like to see:
Catherine Zeta-Jones: Snow White
Gwyneth Paltrow: Aurora
Anne Hathaway: Belle
Claire Danes: Jane
Jesse Metcalfe and Salma Hayek: Aladdin and Jasmine
Eric Mabius: Hercules
Lucy Liu: Mulan
Jennifer Garner: I love her too much not to see her as someone, but I can't figure out who. Her facial structure reminds me a lot of Pocahontas, but I dunno if Disney would be afraid of being un-PC by having her pose as such. Personality-wise, she's a lot like Ariel, but she doesn't quite look the part. Hmm...
I also think a Peter Pan picture is pretty much required (and a given if they continue) for this ad campaign, but I can't think of any guys suitable for that role.

I thought of her when wondering who would be good for Belle. But her face is not as rounded as Belle, so I'm not sure, but still, I think she'd be good! But who would be her Beast?Disneykid wrote:Jennifer Garner: I love her too much not to see her as someone, but I can't figure out who. I think the pictures are really cool! I made a desktop background with Cinderella and Prince Philip and a night shot of Cinderella Castle. I'd love to add more if there are more.
I'd have to agree with the person who said it's not a Disney style, but I like that the photographer made the Fairy Tale atmospheres look like they could've happened in real life. It's like the most recent Disney commercials with Cinderella's coach coming down the neighborhood street and the little girl in the royal court all dressed up in an authentic medieval outfit. It's stuff like that that make fairy tales so much more real and less kiddified.
Jennifer Garner could be Drizella!!! Lol, jk. How about Mary Poppins? Megara? The wood Nymph from Fantasia 2000?
Peter Pan absolutley must be in this ad campagin! The only celebrity I can think of is Jesse McCartney since his face still looks like a little boy. I just hope they don't use Zac Efron.

I think Jesse Metcalfe would be too buff to be Aladdin. Aladdin is supposed to be a scrawny little guy. He's in shape, but he doesn't take protein shakes or anything like that, lol.Disneykid wrote:Jesse Metcalfe and Salma Hayek: Aladdin and Jasmine
