It has been a while since i was on this topic so i will recap what I have seen this past week.

Talladega Nights A pretty funny comedy but nothing really memorable.

A Goofy Movie One of the most underrated Disney movies.

Click We watched some of this in our English class Wednesday because a student brought it in and we had a substitute (again).

Apollo 13.

Always a pleasure to watch, since the great actors made it a great movie, and it's just a good movie.

Watched Gridiron Gang again on DVD. Having not been a huge fan of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (seriously dude, DROP the title part of your name  ) and never seen Xzhibit act, when I first saw it I didn't expect much, but what I found was pretty decent. A nice stand up and cheer movie and just as good on DVD as it was in the theater.

Cheers,
JM :thumb:

P.S. I also saw Dreamgirls today for a fourth time.

Classic horror sci-fi. Not much more really needs to be said.

I saw Dreamgirls at the theater last night. It was great! Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson deserved their awards. I can't wait to see if it gets Oscar nominations.

Just watched Xanadu with Michael Beck, Gene Kelly, and Olivia Newton-John. I forgot about the Don Bluth animation sequence in this movie. Otherwise it is just a nice way to pass two-hours. Good music, passable story, and just pure fun.

Eli Roth's Hostel - A- : I was surprised, I wasn't expecting this to be as good as it was. I'm a hard guy to shock and gross-out, but this movie is really extreme, so if you're wondering 'what horror movie will really get me, like right in the gut?', look no further. In fact, I haven't flinched, made substantial noise during, or turned my eyes away from a movie in a long time - but I did all three here. And since that is an often important reaction to horror movies, I must fully endorse this film to other horror fans. Basically, if you thought Audition wasn't shocking enough...

Than, jump out your nearest window. There's a lot to love about that movie...
Well...
There's enough to love about that movie.

Oh, and High Tension (2003) - I wasn't originally intending to post what I thought about this movie, because I rarely post what I buy on the New DVD Thread and then bash my decision to have purchased it by saying the movie stunk, but High Tension stinks. For Horror fans - ignore the hype on this one. I'm already trying to do everything I can to dispose of my copy of this movie, and I think I've got a sucker all lined up.

Hmm, should I consider this an offensive comment?
And I didn't say that it wasn't lovely. I just said it was boring. Lovely and boring go together sometimes, you know.

Having the grandkids on another over-nighter we made it an all Disney night in the Junkie Home Theater -

The Incredibles - one of the best kids movies around, and it doesn't bore the adults either. I really like this one a lot.

Lilo & Stitch - I love the soundtrack, and the characters are very enjoyable. The kids all like this movie a lot.

Oliver & Company - What can be said about one of the better Disney animated films. Good story, great music, and the kids all laughed together.

Chip 'n' Dale's Rescue Rangers - Watched a couple of episodes while the older kids were still awake.

Now I have seven sleeping bags on the floor of the Home Theater filled with sleeping kids. This is the best part of being a grandparent.

CSI is not a movie, Hades. That would belong under the "What Television Show Did You Just Watch?" thread.

Fantasia 11/10
Fantasia 2000 11/10
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 9.5/10
High School Musical 9/10

Of course, the two Fantasia's were simply wonderful. I thank Walt so much for the original, because it is such a wonderful thought. Fantasia to me, is like what a baseball player loving to play baseball. It is a fantastical dream full of vision and grace. I love this movie. I also enjoy, however not as much, Fantasia's continuation film, Fantasia 2000. It contains wonderful imagery, and great music. From both films, my favorites would have to be The Nutcracker Suite, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Dance of the Hours, Night on Bald Mountain, Ave Maria, Pines of Rome, Carnival of the Animals, Rhapsody in Blue, and The Firebird Suite. POTC is also a wonderful and exciting adventure. Although I have never been on the ride, or to DisneyLand for that matter, it's a really fine movie. Excellent in my opinion. HSM is a little fancy of mine that I just can't get over. The music is pretty good, and the dancing isn't half-bad either.
