This week's episode was hysterically funny and poignant at the same time. Susan is finally realizing that her daughter is growing up and she has to be a mother to her. Lynette is so fabulous, as she is trying to save this family business from going totally under before it opens. And poor Bree, she just doesn't understand what is going on with Alma and Orson. Next week's episode looks to be a real slam-bang one.

I wonder how they are going to write around Marcia Cross' pregnancy now that she has been confined to bed rest until the twins are born. The next few weeks should prove interesting.

And I agree, the thing with Zach Young is Gabby is hilarious. I am glad that they have kept the same actor in the role. And that hair, it has to go. Although it does fit the mold of the character he is portraying. Very funny situation for Gabby to be in.

Last night's episode was so great ...

I am glad that I keep an eye on the guest cast credits ... cuz I saw the name of the actor that played Zack ... and when Gaby said "your voice sounds familiar" ... I was like ... oh hell no ... She's talking to Zack LOL

Such a priceless Gaby moment ... but they really do need to give her a "mystery" storyline ... She's the only one without one ... well maybe Zack will go psycho on her for rejecting him LOL

Alma is scary and creepy ... I think she does drugs (what did she inject herself with last week?) ... and I think she is the one that killed Monique ...

She is obsessed with Orson ... made the bird say something suggestive so that Bree could hear it ... and planted that evidence so that Bree would leave Orson ...

What a loon!

Now if anyone can help ... my VCR (yea I still got one of those) turned off right before the previews for next week . ..

Is there anyway I can view them online? or can someone just type what was seen in the preview?

Thanks in advance.

From ABC.com, here is what they say about next weeks episode:

Sunday, January 21 at 9/8c

"Come Play Wiz Me"
Lynette and Tom struggle to overcome challenges as Pizzeria Scavo prepares for its grand opening, Gaby can't seem to get away from her secret admirer, and the new neighbor on Wisteria Lane reveals a devious plan.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From what I remember:

Gabrielle obviously gives Zach a second chance, and even kisses him.

Bree walks in on Orson and Alma in bed together. Alma has her arm around Orson, but, Orson appears to be asleep.

I honestly can't remember what else they showed, but, it looked like it was going to be a great episode.

Good lord.....Gabby has officially earned the title of "Most Deperate Housewife." Zach is one of my least favorite characters and (even though I didn't think it was possible) looked even more rediculous that he did last time we saw him. The fact that Gabby is even giving him a chance is way out of character for her.

But, on the other hand, we get to see Bree kick some butt next week. First it was Lynette and Nora, now its Bree and Alma (does that mean that Alma's gonna die soon?).

I am still somewhat confused as to wether Alma planted the teeth + the picture, or if Bree wasn't supposed to find it. I can see it from either way.

Next week looks good!

I have a hard time buying that America Ferrara is a better actress than either of them. Because guess what, she's not.

Scoops from E!'s Kristen ...
Oh, Baby! I'm sure you guys already heard this, but in hopes of working with Marcia Cross' real-life bedrest, ABC asked her doctor if it was safe for her to act while very, very pregnant with twins. The doc said yes, so they're shooting several scenes in Marcia's real-life bed in her real-life house. Onscreen, Bree is confined to bed because of a recent fall from a ladder…

SHOWRUNNERS DISH!

Just got out of a panel with all of ABC's coolest showrunners (each and every one rocks!) and Marc Cherry of Desperate Housewives was spillin' the down-low on his show. They all talked about the restrictions placed upon them creatively in the post-Janet Jackson era, and Cherry noted, "I have a few actresses who refuse to wear bras. It costs me $100,000 a week to take nipples off my show. And then I turn on Friends [reruns], and it's a nipple-fest." And while Marcia Cross' Bree is somewhat out of commission, the writers really plan to use Edie to her best advantage: "Nicolette [Sheridan]'s about to have a really fun time. She's being promoted to front and center. We'll be meeting her son who we first heard about in the pilot. And she's going to be having a really fun romance with someone who's already living on the street."

Just saw the episode! And I am happy!

Gabby finally has a storyline that will ultimately run together with the overall plot! And it looks like Edie is getting some better screentime too! Wooot!

I loved tonight's episode! Best in a loong time, IMO. I also think Alma killed Monique. I think she has been blackmailing Orson. She said something about what he "did to Monique." I don't think she meant for Bree to find the teeth though.
In next week's episode, I think Alma drugs Orson and plants him in bed with her, hence his being asleep when Bree walks in. That is going to be a SHOWDOWN. But I'm okay with it, because whether or not he killed Monique, I still don't like Orson.

Zach is such a creep. He looks disgusting. I'm willing to bet he's going to go crazy again. He and Carlos are going to have a fight.

And what is up with Paul?? That whole prison thing just wierded me out. I have no idea what's going on there.

Well, crap!

I typed the whole recap of the excellent episode, tonight, and then my connection to the internet went down. So, I copied it, so that I wouldn't have to re-type it. I restarted my computer, got my connection going, logged on, and tried to paste my recap, and no luck. Nothing there. So, forget it. I'm sure someone else will type up a recap. If not, I'll copy and paste the one from MSNBC.com, when they finally post it.

Needless to say, it was excellent. This has been a great run of awesome episodes for Desperate Housewives! I'm very pleased with this season!

Why would NBC recap an ABC show? Or was that a typo on your part? I know that you can rewatch the episode in its entirety on abc.com.

As far as tonight's episode went, it was absolutely hilarious and we now know that Bree (or a stand-in) falls from a ladder, so they do the rest of the season with her in bed.

Alma revealed that she has been taking injections to make her fertile and after she get Orson's mom to help drug him she tells him what she is going to do just before he passes out.

When Bree arrives in the bedroom of Alma's home, she finds Alma supposedly asleep by Orson's side in a frilly red nightgown. After confronting Alma, who tells Bree that she 'didn't expect her to react this way', Bree replies 'Did you expect this?' and punches her.

Ian's wife Jane passes away leaving the way clear for Ian to propose to Susan.

Lynette quits her job so she can become the manager of the Scavo Pizzeria after a big success on the street fair. After feigning effects from her gunshot wound to her bosses, they give her another week off, and she is confronted by her boss at the street fair, she decides that she needs time with her family and tells her husband she wants to be part of the business.

Gabby and Zach have a special arranged day-time date. Part of an agreement with Gabby and Susan so that Zach will bail Mike out of jail. Naturally Zach thinks it is more serious than it really is, and that leads to a very funny, disastrous kiss at the front door.

Next week looks to be pretty good. Can't wait.

Alma is nutts! Loved Gloria's return ... Bree was fantastic ...

Being pregnant does Marcia Cross well ... She glows in every scene ... very very beautiful ...

That little girl ... Kayla ... needs a good spanking!

Yay @ Tom and Lynette working together ... Felicity looked hott when she was dressed and ready to go to work ...

So next week we will see how they are going to get Marcia off her feet and into a bed ... and the following two weeks Bree will be in bed ... and then the storyline will be over for the season ...

I heard on ET or Access Hollywood that Marcia does want to return for the finale ...

Hmmm ... I am now confused ... My gut tells me that Alma killed Monique ... but could it have been Mama Hodge ... or were both of them in on it?

Oh ... before I forget ... I absolutely loved when Bree punched Alma out ... I am so glad that she realized what Alma did ... she drugged and raped Orson ... I am glad they didn't make it appear as if he cheated on Bree ...

MSNBC as in the news channel for NBC. They have entertainment sections and by doing that they must have things that do not relate to GE owned property. Also Alma said "I might be expecting right now" as she was telling Bree her evil plan MAHAHAHAHHA! :shifty:

I wanted Jane to wake up at the last minute!!! I hate Ian! He can't possibly become Susan's husband.
Let's also not forget that Gabby is dating Zach so he will finance a lawyer for Susan for Mike.
I hope Alma is pregnant. That would be soo juicy :P !
I'm surprised that the last we saw of Bree was her calling Andrew from Alma's house. Did she just leave Alma knocked out on the chair? If you ask me, that would have been a great time to plant the teeth in her house and call the police. I'm surprised that incident was over without a bigger ending.
Zach is planning to marry Gabby?!?!? That's insane! And I think we haven't been privy to the full extent of Paul's motives.

Next week looks great!

MSNBC.com does a weekly recap of several ABC shows. They do one for Grey's Anatomy and Lost, as well.

Here's the link for their weekly recaps of Desperate Housewives.

Great episode last night!

I will admit the mistake I made with Gabby. It wasn't out of character at all for her to go out with Zach (because of the circumstances) and I thought it was sorta funny how it turned out. I still can't stand Zach though.

I had to chuckle a little to myself everytime they would use a "clever" camera angle to cut around Marcia's pregnancy. But I agree that it works for her as she looks fantastic!

I loved the scene where she really stuck it to Alma. It held one of my favorite lines of the season ("Were you expecting this?" PUNCH!). That was so great!

I was under the impression that there was no way that Ian's wife wasn't comming out of her coma, guess I was wrong there. I don't like Ian either, and it upsets me that he might become Susan's husband. Although, it is unlikely to last (if it does happen) as I cannot imagine Susan never speaking to Mike ever again, that's just not gonna happen.

I thought Lynette's choice to quit her job and to join in on the pizza buisness was a little iffy, but I'm interested to see where it goes.

Looking forward to next week!

Thanks for the info MM1, I didn't know that competing networks would do such a thing.

But I am glad that we all can give our summations in our own words and not use someone else's view of the goings-on. It makes it a little more chatty that way. We all see things a little differently, and if we copy someone's opinion from another network, we may not get the full impact of what happened.

I like what is going on right now, everyone seems to be excited about the rest of the season, and I am glad that they are going let Marcia Cross have these babies in peace. She was really starting to show a lot. You can only hide so much for so long.

This season is going to be really good if they keep going in the direction they are headed.
