So i'm watching the season premiere and already love the new season. I'll post more after the show, but I was just so excited that I wanted to start the thread! :D

I don't have much thoughts yet thus far, but...

* I hope Orson is discovered soon ( I can't stand it when Bree is in trouble)

* I am surprised that so much is happening in only the second episode.

The episode is over and I'm not as speechless as I would like to be. The show was good, but there wasn't a lot that was revealed...

Susan looks like she's going to get herself into trouble with Ian. I don't see Mike being under for too long, so I really hope Susan doesn't get involved with someone else.

Lynette was great. I don't know what else is going to happen with her, but I love her.

Bree's storyline was by far the most interesting. I seriously am scared for her. The poor thing is getting herself into so much trouble lately...
There's news that a character will be killed off this season. I know it's a bit predictable, but Bree is now at the top of my list, along with Orson and Mike.

What Edie lacked in interest, she made up for in humor. She was great tonight. Although, I don't know where her next stroyline is coming from.

Gabby had the second-most interesting storyline tonight. I hope she and Carlos don't get a divorce. I'm glad that someone finally pointed out to her that she's a b*tch. She needed to know.

Last but not least, are we finally over and done with the Dierdra storyline? Also, have we seen the last of the Applewhites?

Agreed. Bree is my favorite housewife. I hope she gets as much attention as she did last season because her stories never get old. Marcia Cross is a fantastic actress.

*SPOILER*
Eva Longoria said that Gabrielle's marriage problems will be resolved by the third episode.

I don't think so. Alfre Woodard (Betty) was signed on to do seven more seasons.

All in all, a pretty good episode. I can't wait for next Sunday!

Whoa...so she signed an 8-season contract? Or did you mean seven additional episodes?

I rather enjoyed the Season 3 premiere. In fact, if I had a working computer, I would have started this thread. ;)

While not as much was revealed, it was still a great way to start the season. I'm worried about Bree, as well. I hate it that she can't just be happy. By the way, where was Danielle? I'm actually shocked that, after six months, Andrew hasn't come back. They at least should have shown, or mentioned, her children.

I'm very curious. Mark Cherry said a lead character would be killed off. I'm thinking that it will be one of the housewives. Either Marcia Cross (since she is pregnant, with twins I hear, in real life), or Eva Longeria (since she is not going to renew her contract).

I also hope we aren't done with Betty Applewhite. I loved the character. I don't believe Alfre Woodard signed an 8 Season contract. There's no way that they know how long this show will go on.

Just because you sign an 8 season contract doesn't mean they're saying the show will last that long. It's just saying that if the show does happen to last that long and they want her, they have her. But for all I know, she could be done with the show. If Marc Cherry doesn't want her anymore then he can drop her from the script as he pleases. But signing the contract just meant that SHE can't leave the show on her own until her contract is up.

That is not true. What Eva said was that once DESPERATE ends its run ... She will no longer be doing television (i.e. she won't star in another television series) ... She will focus on movies ...

She never said she wouldn't renew her contract.

I thought last night's episode was terrific! It certainly had the feel that Season One gave. Just like ... I think it was Teri Hatcher? ... had said on Access Hollywood.

It was wickedly delightful.

I for one loved the whole start of the show ... Showing Orson's backstory ... and I loved that Laurie Metcalf was the neighbor ...

I think that all the clues will point to Orson being the bad guy ... but I don't think he is Alma's killer. The clues point directly to him ... Wouldn't be much of a mystery huh?

-- The neighbor says he did it.
-- The bird mimics Alma saying "Orson No"
-- The body is found at the country club (where Bree says that he's been a member for years)

I don't think so buddy LOL ... It's too obvious ...

And let's not forget Orson's friend in the mental hospital ... and his "run-in" with Mike ... for which I think Mike is the guilty party ... Maybe Mike is behind the woman in the mental hospital?

Lynette/Edie/Gaby ... too funny last night . ..

And poor Susan in another love triangle ...

Oh ... and I loved that it was on for 14 mins w/o commercials ... gotta love it ...

And was it me or did they not even show the title card? ...

I wonder what the ratings were for last night? and for the other Touchstone show "Brothers and Sisters" ...

It was announced on the TV Guide "Up Close" that she has said she will not renew her contract. I'm sure that they know what they are talking about, considering that their job is reporting television news. I know what Eva Longeria has said in the past, but, that doesn't mean it's going to hold true.

Eva was on "Entertainment Tonight" a few weeks ago regarding this misinterpretation of her statements. She said she will stay with "Desperate Housewives" as long as the want her, but she will never do another television series after that. She wants to concentrate on movies. She has no intentions of leaving "Housewives" until it leaves the air.

It was also said that she has signed on for a 6 Season contract, so even if she plans to leave after the contract has expired, I doubt the show would go on anyway [at that point]. I really, really, hope they don't kill off Bree. I know this show is gutsy, but a line must be drawn, lol. I for one, am betting on Mike getting killed later on, after he explains some past dealings with Orson.

As for the episode; Incredible! Desperate Housewives is BACK, in more ways than one. From the phenomenal opening scene, to the hilarious comedy, this episode had it all. It balanced out the humor, drama, tension and mystery wonderfully, and you really had the 'feel' of the original show.

My only gripes; Danielle not at her own mother's engagement party? WTF? I don't mind that Andrew is still MIA, but a mention would've been nice. I hope they haven't forgotten that Edie and Susan are not in good terms at the moment, and I really really want to see what Zack is up to. That was one cliffhanger I couldn't wait to see unravel, and I got nothing. Oh, and Susan's friend with the accent, I could live without, though her scenes with Mike were really touching. Teri Hatcher delivered the goods all around!

Overall: 9/10 -- Time to come clean, indeed.

Well, I still think it will be either Bree or Garbrielle that gets the ax. I hope I'm wrong, but, I have a very strong feeling.

At any rate, some new Desperate Housewives news, courtesy of TV.com:

http://www.tv.com/desperate-housewives/ ... st;title;0

Housewives welcome mystery woman, hero

Two more additions to Wisteria Lane.

Kathleen York Oscar-nominated songwriter-actress Kathleen York and Matt Roth have landed recurring roles on ABC's Desperate Housewives, which begins its third season on Sunday.

York will play Monique, a beautiful redheaded mystery woman. Roth will play Art, the newest neighbor on Wisteria Lane who buys Mary Alice and Paul Young's house and is immediately befriended by Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman) after he becomes a hero in a tense situation.

Roth's wife, Laurie Metcalf, also has been recruited for a recurring role. However, the two are not expected to appear in the same episodes.

York this year was nominated for an Oscar for cowriting the song "In the Deep" from the Oscar-winning feature Crash. She recently had a recurring role on NBC's The West Wing.

Although it is a very short article, MSNBC.com has posted this piece of interesting news:

Bree pregnant? Not on ‘Housewives’
Marcia Cross says her pregnancy won't be written into the show

Updated: 9:54 a.m. CT Sept 25, 2006
NEW YORK - Marcia Cross is having a baby in April, but Bree won't be getting pregnant in "Desperate Housewives."

Marcia Cross says she thought Marc Cherry would write her pregnancy into the show, but she told "Live With Regis and Kelly" that Cherry just told her that won't happen.

The Orson character proposed to Bree on the season premiere after murdering his first wife and running down Mike with a car, putting him a coma. Bree said yes, but at the end of the episode, she heard what happened to Orson's first wife.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First, I could have sworn that I heard that Marcia Cross was pregnant with twins, on Entertainment Tonight, or some other entertainment news program. However, recent news reports about Marcia Cross have said "baby", not "babies". So, either I dreamed that I had seen this, or the news reports are not correct.

Second, this means that they are either going to have to write the character of Bree out of the show (ie-Bree will be the one who is murdered in November), or, we are only going to be seeing Bree from the neck up. Hmmmm.......

Good. Gabrielle having one is more than enough babies for a show.

My thoughts exactly! I always thought that they wouldn't write in Cross' pregnancy because of the fact that Gabby was gonna have a baby as well.

But please, please don't kill her off, Cross is too good to be written off like that just because she's pregnant. (I mean, Julia Louis Dreyfus was pregnant during Seinfeld, an I would never have caught on to that if I didn't already know about it).

Tonight's episode was pretty good. There was the introduction of Edie Britt's nephew, Austin (who is a hottie, by the way!). There was the wedding of Bree and Orson. In true Bree fashion, she stopped the wedding to ask Orson if he had killed his wife, Alma. Of course, he denies he had anything to do with her vanishing. After the wedding, Susan and Ian have an exchange of words, using a toast to Bree and Orson to speak to each other. Lynette plays match maker, and connects Nora with Carlos. Carlos and Nora hit it off, quite well, and Gabrielle watches in horror. Finally, Gabrielle confronts them, and they all end up having a war of words. Nora tells Gabrielle that it is Lynette who introduced them, which causes Gabrielle to yell, "Lynette, I want to talk to you!", as Lynette quickly leaves to go home. Carlos and Gabrielle continue to argue, as Xiao-Mei enters, and her water breaks on the dance floor. They take Xiao-Mei to the hospital, where she gives birth to a baby, which is obviously not theirs. Apparently, the fertility clinic put the wrong egg into Xiam-Mei, and the correct egg, put into the other woman, did not take. So, Carlos and Gabrielle do not have a baby, after all. Toward the end of the wedding reception, a detective comes in, asking to speak with Bree. Bree goes over to the detective, who informs Bree that they may have found Alma's body. The body had to identified by someone viewing the body, because whoever killed her, had removed all of her teeth. Orson and Bree go to the morgue to identify the body. He see's the body, and says that it is not Alma. Suddenly, Carolyn Bigsby (Orson and Alma's former neighbor), comes in, and says, "You seriously don't think that they would just take your word for it?". They show the body to Carolyn, who looks stunned, and says, "It's not her". Bree tells Carolyn to leave them alone, and Carolyn insists that Orson is a murderer, telling Bree that "You deserve him". As everyone leaves the room, Orson looks back at the body, and says something in, what I believe was French. If anyone knows what he said, please, fill us in.

All in all, a decent episode. The mystery continues to deepen. If the body is not Alma, who is it? If it is Alma, did Orson do something to change her appearance, so that nobody could identify her? What did Orson say, as he left the morgue? Where was Bree's daughter, Danielle? Was that Danielle in the audience, sitting next to Julie? I'm excited for the next episode, because Andrew comes back into the picture. Hopefully we'll learn more about the Orson mystery.

The second episode was SOO much better than the season premiere!
SO. MUCH. BETTER.

SUSAN
I'm up in the air about Susan's relationship with Ian. I think he's an okay guy, but he's still married, and she's waiting on Mike. It's a bit sick.

BREE
Omigod, she actually married that creep-o. Even if he didn't kill his wife, he's still hiding something IMO. And that bit at the beginning was hilarious.

GABBY
I really really really hope she and Carlos work it out eventually. It looks like she and John are getting together in the next episode, so I don't know if that's going to happen, but I'm hoping. And I'm really disappointed they didn't get their baby. Or will they? What's going to happen to the child that was born?

LYNETTE
My favorite. I feel really sorry that she has to deal with that psycho girl.

EDIE
She's a doll. I think her nephew coming to stay with her is an interesting development. But why is she still so cold towrad Susan?

And what did Orson say?? I heard the name 'Monique'...is that also a word in French? Or does the body belong to a woman named Monique??

I think it would be cool if Danielle came back and she, Julie, and Edie's nephew (and maybe Matthew Applewhite) become involved in some kind of web of lust. Whatever happens, I hope to see Julie more involved in the show.
:pan: Love It.
