My newest purchase is from ebay. The "Sissi- Royal Edition"
It's a German movie series about Empress Elizabeth of Austria. It's cheesy and historically not too accurate, but the acting, the scenery and the costumes are just lovely. It's a real German classic that everyone here knows.
I've been looking for this for some time now, and yesterday I finally got it on ebay. The box is amazing and the DVDs are gold!! Some pictures:

Green Wing: The Special R2 PAL

Nooooooooooooo! It's finished. Ka-put. Put a fork in it, it's done. Green Wing is no more.

But it ends with a humongous 88 minute special, which (so I believe) ties up all the loose ends from the end of the second series. Channel 4 video and Talkback Thames have done a good job on the packaging, which although not a digipack like Series 1 and 2, still has the same transparent plastic sleeve. I was hoping that the Comic Relief sketch could have been included on this release though. It will never be released now.

I don't know how I will go on living without new Green Wing. At least Tamsin Greig is due back on our screens in another series of Love Soup soon.

DOA: Dead or Alive R2 PAL [Exclusive Play.Com cover]

Well, I don't really have much to say about this. It's a film, based on a fighting game (and also a nominal Volleyball game) all of which seems to get as much milage out of beautiful women rather than the actual fighting (or volleyballing). And it also stars Eric Roberts. Bliss.

Doctor Who - Mark of the Rani, because I was desperate to spend more money after Christmas!

I also received a bunch of review discs, mostly anime:

- Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki! V1
- Trinity Blood V1
- The Work of Directors Boxset One - Spike Jonze, Chris Cunningham & Michel Gondry (which I already own, but the bonus disc was nice)
- Tree of Palme
- Streetfighter II the Movie (Uncut)
- Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (from Korean director Park Chan-wook)

My Disney Legacy DVDs seem to be missing in action.

After finally getting fed up with waiting to complete "Are You Being Served" series (with series 7 being delayed again) I ended up buying from DeepDiscountDVD today the R1 S6-10 collection.

Bought The Illusionist at F.Y.E. for $14.99*. Pretty good flick, though I enjoyed The Prestige much more.

It is now a month since the Walt Disney Treasures were supposedly sent by DDD, and has yet not arrived.

Now I've had to re-order More Silly Symphonies and The Hardy Boys from Amazon. (Can't afford to re-order Pluto Volume 2 at the moment)

If worse does come to worse, and my DDD order finally decides to arrive, I'll make the duplicate purchases a selloff through the trade section at the price I paid plus P+H.

Other purchases made this week:

From Big W

Shark Tale (with interactive DVD game) $A17.95
The Road To El Dorado $A8.95
Sinbad, Legend of the Seven Seas, $A8.95
Spirit, Stallion of the Cimarron, $A8.95

and from Target:

The Spongebob Squarepants Movie A$8.95

BIG update.

Image
Walt Disney Legacy Collection: True Life Adventures Volume 4: Nature's Mysteries R1 NTSC
My second copy, but this time Secrets of Life has the correct ratio, yay!

Image
Walt Disney Treasures: More Silly Symphonies R1 NTSC
I have it a while and already made my comments about it! ;)

Image
Walt Disney Treasures: The Complete Pluto Volume 2 R2 PAL
I really enjoyed this more than volume 1, I felt kind of sad knowing t'was the end of the yeller dog!

Image
Blackadder III R2 PAL
Very funny, probably my favourite of all of Blackadder's incarnations.

Image
Blackadder's Christmas Carol R2 PAL
Very good, I loved Blackadder in this era, just a shame he didn't get to spend more time in it. I would've loved a series in the Dickensian period. Great twist on the classic, with some of the best one liners ever!

Image
The Muppet Movie R2 PAL
Interesting tale of the start to the Muppet saga, can't say I found it that entertaining though, probably I will appreciate it more with repeat viewings.

Image
The Great Muppet Caper R2 UK
Almost as good as the masterpiece that is The Muppets Take Manhattan, very interesting to see the Muppets return to their spiritual homeland of Blighty! ;)

Image
Pom Poko R2 UK
Not what I was expecting at all, but very enjoyable nonetheless. Superb animation and a wonderfully inventive tale spun out of the most mundane subject matter. If truth be told I found it slightly overlong, but stunning!
