well i just got it for my daughter and sat down to watch it with her ... my thoughts were that it is not worth it ;( the story the acting bad...
the only good thing on it that my daughter liked was the music video !
Oh, good lord no. Regardless of my opinions towards Hilary Duff's fugly-ness, Material Girls is simply horrendous.

I appreciate the input guys. Good, one less cruddy flick in the house. Maybe I'll get her The Devil Wears Prada instead...
It's up to you and me, to face our destiny. The jury's here so let's take the stand.
How old is your daughter? If she is I guess 12 and up, then I think that she'll appreciate the film. If she's younger, she won't get it. It's a fantastic concoction of a movie, it's just that if she's too young, then the jokes will fly over her head and she won't understand the plot, etc.

As James previously stated, whether or not your daughter will enjoy Prada is based on at one end her age, and the other her maturity level. Some of the films best lines...
Emily: I'm one stomach flu away from reaching my goal weight.
Andy Sachs: You look so skinny! Emily: Really? Thanks. I'm on this new diet for Paris. I don't eat anything... and then when I feel like I'm about to faint, I eat a cube of cheese.
Andy Sachs: I thought only the first assistant went to the benefit Miranda Priestly: Only when the first assistant hasn't decided to become an incubus of viral plague.
Sorry, this isn't on topic, but TLM, I love your new avatar and siggy. I've heard that Jennifer Hudson is the actual star of it, instead of Beyonce. Is it true? And is it based on The Supremes? Because I thought that it was, but some reviews have said that it isn't. What's the deal with that?

Oh, why thank you James! To answer your questions, in the musical Effie White (Hudson) is mainly the lead, yet I think the makers of the film are pushing Knowles because of her star status. Also, Dreamgirls is more of a loosely-based take on all older-generation girl groups-- with The Supremes being one of the larger influences, I suppose.
Oh okay, I didn't think that it was all about Beyonce. Okay, that's good, thanks for the info. I'll probably go and see it when it's released in Australia.

Hey guys, for anyone who cares, Hilary Duff's third studio album (not including the Most Wanted album) will be released on the 3rd of April, 2007. It will be titled, against the rumours, as "Dignity". Dignity will be released alongside other anticipated albums in April, such as Maroon 5's latest, and Avril Lavrigne's third album "The Best Damn Thing". Singles off this album will include "Play with Fire" and "With Love". Here's are some promo pics for the new album, showing off her new adult look-
What's everyone's thoughts on it?

HOT.
I think she needs to stick with music. Her movie career is floundering and, truth be told, she's better a singing.
Lindsay on the other hand, needs to give up those sound-sicknesses she calls albums and stay with acting. I think she's a good actress, regardless of her silly movies of late.
I kind of agree with you since Hilary's never struck me as a particularly strong actress, but I think that both she and Lindsay have their own places in acting and singing. I personally love Lindsay's singing, and I love her stuff. It sucks how she only released one song of her second album; I wanted more! I hope that she makes it through rehab with her career intact.
They both need to move into more adult roles, which they both have done, with Hilary doing a John Cusack movie and Lindsay doing a number of adult movies, including Bobby, A Prarie Home Companion, Georgia Rule, and Chapter 27, which I am so freaking physched for! It'll be great, since Jared Leto gained like 60 pounds for the role. She's a great actress too, so it should be good. Could be Oscar-worthy.

Hil looks gorgeous in those pics, though I still don't buy her as the bad girl rocker she sometimes tries to look like in publicity stuff. Despite the ex-boyfriend and those pics in the leather jacket and black nail pollish, Hilary still comes off to me more as the princess type, which is not an insult as long as she doesn't act like the Simple Life girls, ha.
I wouldn't call Hilary one of the best actresses in the world, but I think she's good when she has material that suits her (and that is good material). I do have to agree that her movie career has floundered due to doing movies that seem like they should go direct to video, but I hadn't heard about this Cusack move. Don't know a thing about it, but I'm glad she's still acting. I think her singing and her acting are about on the same level. Also glad she doesn't look sickly anymore. I think that was mostly when she first lost all that weight, back when she was making "Cheaper By the Dozen 2."
Ah, and her new brunette look... That's one of the reasons I love pinkish-pale girls like Hil. No matter what hair color they decide to try, they tend to be able to pull it off. I mean, Hil looks great as a blonde and a brunette (since her natural color has been both too), and I bet she could even pull off red hair. Though, who knows. Melissa Joan Hart couldn't pull it off.
Hilary is still my favorite and the most gorgeous over-18 celebrity right now. But, don't know who will be my top dream-girl when Kay Panabaker, Emma Watson, and Rachel Hurd-Wood turn 18 soon, ha.

Hehehe.
You and me have verry similar tastes. But I prefer Danielle to her sister.

Ha. I like Danielle, but they do have different looks/faces (though some think they look exactly alike, hmm), and there's something more appealing to me about Kay's face. I'm more of a face guy than anything, actually.
This is interesting. If we are to trust Wikipedia, apparantly the reason Hilary got veneers (sp?) over her teeth was because she chipped a tooth with a microphone. Anyways, it also says that after hearing everywhere that they were too big for her face, she had them made smaller to look like her real teeth. Still noticeable, I'd say, but they seem to look a lot better.
I also looked up some of my other celebrity dream-girls. Ha, it was a real eye-opener, if the info is correct. Back in school, I would have known everything about my celeb crushes, but I think I purposely avoid getting "too much information" nowadays.
Oh, and this is amazing! Kay Panabaker, who gets closer to being my top fave every day, is already a Junior at UCLA! She and Danielle graduated High School by 14. They're some sort of super-geniuses, especially Kay, who has an Associate's Degree already. Crazy!
Well, as I mentioned before, Wikipedia says it was literally "horse teeth" comments from people that caused her to recently have them made smaller, so she should look considerably better, as she seems to in some pics I've seen (though they still are noticeable). I haven't seen recent footage of her in what seems like forever. I guess we'll have to see her new video to know for sure. Don't know if I am totally convinced by that chipped tooth story, since you can have that sort of thing fixed, I believe, without getting all your teeth capped (I could be wrong about that though).
she just looked so much cuter with her little lizzie mcguire teeth which looked natural...not like her teeth now but i will have to see new pics of her to determine...but she is still really cute and i like her new more grown up look....but i am not fond of her new perfume "with love" its realllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyy strong amber smell ...yuk...
