Question: Is "Deleted Scenes" it's own category, with the subcategory "Alternate Ending"...I mean, is the only thing under "Deleted Scenes" that one "Alternate Ending", or are there other deleted scenes? I already have the Gold Collection DVD and was counting on multiple deleted scenes...even though I bought TF&tH again for one 6-minute documentary and an art gallery... I'm very glad this DVD has an art gallery, too, though...it justfifies the purchase a bit more!
With Robin Hood, as has been pointed out several times already in this thread, it was animated in the 1.33:1 aspect ratio, with the intended theatrical ratio (via matting) being 1.75:1. So all the action would be contained within the 1.75:1 frame, but still have a 1.33:1 aspect ratio for stuff like television airings and home video releases. Both ratios are "correct" for Robin Hood, in that the intended animated ratio is 1.33:1, and the intended theatrical ratio is 1.75:1.Beastboyravenz wrote:I heard a while ago that Aladdin and the fourty thieves when released to dvd was cut off from the top and bottom. I'm keeping my GC and buying the MWE so it's a 2-disc edition with both the fully animated frame on one disc and the matted theatrical frame on the other. You are very correct. I guess I had temporary amnesia in regards to the titles that had been slightly matted to their 1.85:1 theatrical ratios. The Hunchback of Notre Dame - it's also presented in the theatrical 1.85:1 aspect ratio as opposed to its animated 1.66:1 aspect ratio.
All three films were presented in those ratios at the request of their producers/directors, though for the SE of Mulan it was decided to release it with the animated aspect ratio instead.

There was a show on Disney Channel geared towards very young kids that had puppets of the Hundred Acre Wood characters in front of cut-out backgrounds. The idea was that Pooh and his friends were emerging from a pop-up book. It's not on anymore in the United States that I know of, though it's on Playhouse Disney in the U.K. according to Wikipedia. "My Friends Tigger and Pooh" will be computer-animated and focus on a six-year-old girl named Darby as their new friend. Yeah. What is Disney doing with the discs' appearances? Robin Hood's disc appears to be that shiny, almost-transparent kind of looking disc art (like Chicken Little, or the PE of Lady and the Tramp's discs), but last week's release of Cars was a normal looking disc. Why don't you just take them off? Or better yet, look at the DVD case before you try to open it. I just learn which DVDs I have, with snap shut cases, and, hey, remember so I don't try to destroy my DVD case. You must be smarter than the case.
