I'm hoping for a Joey and Emmet finale, but I think it will be a Mario and Emmet one.

Last nights elimination wasn't a surprise, but Mario in the bottom two was.

Considering it is the number of votes along with the judges scores that keep the dancers around, I was also surprised at the lack of support that Mario is getting. If he gets the axe next week, it won't be because he is bad, but because we didn't get out the vote for our Disney star.

I was really moved by Monique's mom, when she came out on the dance floor to see her daughter and console her.

Since when is Mario a Disney star?

Ok ... I guess nobody pays attention to Tom and Samantha when they are talking ... because they said this numerous ... numerous times ...

For the first time this season ... they did not reveal who was in the bottom two ... but ... the person that went home ... was the one with the least amount of points when combining the viewers and judges scores ...

So ... just because it was Mario and Monique that were called last ... it did not mean that Mario and Monique were in the bottom two together ... but it did mean that Monique had the lowest score ...

Well, he was a backup dancer and drummer during the first couple seasons of Kids Incorporated, and even though that itself isn't a Disney show, it was on Disney Channel for many years.

Or, of course, it could simply be the fact that he once guest-starred on the Touchstone-produced sitcom "The Golden Girls"...

Maybe Bill was thinking about Joey Lawrence, who's more associated with Disney than Mario is?

I thought Saved By The Bell was a Disney-affiliated show. He was on that for a number of years.

And of course, Mario was also on "Pacific Blue" on USA. (Why isn't this on DVD yet?)

The predecessor to "Saved by the Bell" was "Good Morning, Miss Bliss", which was a Disney Channel show, but it didn't have Lopez.

He is co-host on "Extra" and I believe that it is distributed by Buena Vista or one of its affiliates. I know they made a big thing about having two people on the show with roots to Disney when the season first started. Since I have the shows on DVD+RW I will have to go back and watch the first week and see what they were talking about.

"Good Morning Miss Bliss" was a Touchstone show if I'm not mistaken ...

"Saved by the Bell" was an NBC property ...

Joey was on both "Blossom" and "Brotherly Love" and both of those are Touchstone properties ...

By just doing a guest star role here or there ... it doesnt make Mario a Disney star ...

Monique and Joey are more Disney stars than Mario LOL

Picking nits is fun! :P It helps correct misinformation such as the assumption that Mario Lopez is a Disney star, when Joey Lawrence has more Disney-related shows and appearances to his credit and resume.

Anyone else glad that the finale is only going to be an hour this season?

I mean the past two finales that have been 2 hours long really were fluffed up with so many clip reels of things we have already seen several times over LOL ...

It is nice that this season it will only be one hour ...

Last night's show (Tuesday) was phenomenal. Emmitt and Mario danced three dances - one of their own choice, the free-style, and to lead it all off both couples danced to the same song.

Emmitt and Cheryl came out with both guns blazing and got a perfect score for their dance to "Sir Duke". Mario and Karina got a 29 for their interpretation of the same song and dance.

Then it was dancer's choice, and Emmitt and Cheryl chose their crowd-pleasing Mambo and the judges gave them a 30 (Perfect score) for their hard work. Mario and Karina did a Paso Doble and collected a perfect score as well.

The last dance was the free-style, and both couples gave it all they had. Emmitt and Cheryl danced to "U Can't Touch This", the big MC Hammer hit of years past, and knocked everyone our of their socks. They were gigged one point for some technicality so their total was 89 for the three dances.

Mario and Karina collected another perfect score for their dance, and at the end of the evening both couples ended up in a dead heat with 89 points each.

Tonight is the grand finale, all the other couples will appear in a special dance number and when all the dust clears, one couple will be crowned the champion.

My prediction is that it will be Emmitt Smith.

For those that even care, I will let you know that we have a new "Dancing With The Stars" Champion for 2006.

IT'S EMMITT SMITH!!!!

It was a great show tonight, and yes, Tucker Carlson was as talentless tonight as he was the first week. Sara Evens did make an appearance as well as all the other dancers cut from the competition over the past weeks.

Great show. Hope they can come up with some good stars for next year, because they really raised the bar this year.

I didn't really watch it this season, but I did catch the finale. Overall from what I saw Mario was the better dancer, but I guess since Emmit Smith started as a football player, more people applauded that.

True, Mario was a better dancer. But it all seemed to come so natural to him. Emmitt had to work really hard to do as well as he did, and I applaud that.

Thanks Prince Ali, I was just going to say. If someone didn't watch the show from the very first night, they would not have seen the growth of Emmitt Smith.

I believe Mario Lopez is a natural dancer. He excels at everything he does, so it was just fun to watch him dance, and break the rules one week, and his partner was very pretty and they made a perfect couple.

Emmitt Smith admitted in several interviews that he was very nervous about doing something he had never done before, but was going to accept the challenge. He had as a partner, last year's champ, so I could just feel that Emmitt was going to get better each week. To be honest, I didn't think he would get this far, but when it came down to the final three, he broke out the champion in him, and it was game on.

This, by far, was the best "Dancing With Stars" of its short three season run. Kelly Monaco (General Hospital), Drew Lachey (No-talent Nick's brother), and now Emmitt Smith. The bar has been raised and the challenge is on for next season.
