They did actually consider a Bruce Wayne show before Smallville, but went for Smallville after they started up work on the Batman movie.
For some reason WB won't mix it's TV and movie properties. The producers have said that now Batman Begins has been released and a sequel is in the works they can't use Bruce in Smallville as they had originally planned to do.
Smallville seems to have survived despite Superman Returns, probably only because it's so popular and is 5 years in. There's no way WB would have let this show start this year or last year when Superman Returns was in the works.
It's sad but true.
You can find more here; http://www.kryptonsite.com/brucewayne/ which includes the full script for the opening teaser and a good summary of the rest of the pilot.

Just an update. I've now reached the episode Zero, which has become my favourite episode of the season. Seeing Lex loosing it really was somethin'! The episodes leading to it were also great. I loved Leech as a what-if scenario. I guess Clark was destined to be responsible for his powers, even if he didn't have them any more.
I'm guessing I'll be done with the season by the end of the week. This has got to be the most enjoyable purchase for me, especially since I had no idea what I was getting in to!

Alright! I'm done with Season 1! Tempest is perhaps one of the best cliff-hangers I've ever seen in a TV show. The final scene with Clark and Lana is executed perfectly! So... I'm now really anxious to see what happens in the end. I know that Clark and Lana will survive, but how they will is the interesting part. Here are my favourite episodes from this season (in order):
- * Tempest - Brilliant ending to an awesome season. Can't wait to see how this gets wrapped up. 10/10
* Rogue - The first Non-FOTW episode. Phelas is a wonderful villian, and had Clark trapped in a sticky situation. 9.5/10
* Nicodemus - Evil Lana, evil Johnathan, evil Lex. Could this be any better? Great episode. 9.5/10
* Zero - I was really hoping they'd share more about Club Zero, and there it was! The episode I was hoping for! 9.5/10
* Obscura - A wonderful Chloe episode. The whole Lana story is great and is resolved in a cool way. 9/10
* Hug - This episode's freaks were very cool. This opened up the whole Chloe-Clark "arc" in a very creative way. 9/10
* Stray - Seeing Clark with a little brother was really touching, and the moments with the Kents were in perfect tone with the characters that were establsihed. 8.5/10
* Pilot - Sets up a wonderful TV show. The opening scene alone is breath-taking, and the character foundations are placed in a near-perfect manner. 8.5/10

Smallville was renewed by CW (CBS/Warner) for a six season next year but might moved to Sunday night wth Supernatural.
Also Everwood fans let your voice be heard because Everwood might not be picked up by CW. Watch Everwood when it returns to it's old timeslot on Mondays nights at 9.
Everwood returns to The WB March 27 with a two hour event then goes to it's old 9 P.M. timeslot.

This is how I think it should be:
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y171/S ... LEJPPG.jpg" border="0" alt="Image hosting by Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y171/S ... LEJPPG.jpg" border="0" alt="Image hosting by Photobucket"></a>
this is highly unpossible.. as much as i would like it to end up that way but what the CW is doing is a 8-10 primetime slot for tv shows... if they were to have 3 instead of 2.. there would be 8-11 time slots instead of 7-10.. but that most likely happen because they reason they are merging is that they dont have enough money.. so they cant afford to pay for new shows to fill up the extra hour each nightSofaKing381222 wrote:This is how I think it should be:

When I say 7:00 - 10:00 I mean central time. Smallville wiould have stayed at the same time its been at. And The CW had considered having the network have a 3-hour primetime schedule. ABC/FOX have done it before. And I am sure that money is not a huge problem, especially since they are both combining.

Chill out dawgs!
ok so im hearing all these rumors about THE JUSTICE LEAGUE.
It's Official that the guy that was gonna be AQUAMAN for the AQUAMAN show is gonna be playing GREEN ARROW in some SMALLVILLE episodes for season 6, and he is trying to recruit Clark for some JUSTICE LEAGUE.
I THINK THATS GREAT!!!! and they're even talking about bringing some past guest stars for season 6.
Of all the superheroes or cominc book characters that have been on smallville, i have to say that THE FLASH was my favorite. I just loved the way they portrayed his frienship with Clark, it was real kool. And the ending when they were racing and the background music was just KILLER!

I love DC... however the Superman character wasn't my favorite. So at first I didn't care about the series. But then I went to watch several episodes at a friend's house and couldn't believe how good it was.
Later down the road I decided to buy the series, and recently I had.
Got hooked to it. It's not just like watching a good sci-fi show but also a drama.
Have to admit like others that the Seasons openings and finales are the best.
Several opinions:
In terms of being evil... Lionel takes the cake more so than Lex. He really knows how to get under your skin but does so in such a clever way you never see it coming. Plus knows how to play people more so than Lex.
I ended up hating... but HATING Lana.
For starters, by the Sixth Season she has been with, I don't know.... at least 7 boyfriends? On top of that she does it in a blink of an eye.
Didn't she just broke with Clark and in a couple of episodes later was already with Lex?
Plus, I DO understand how she felt by the fact that Clark was always lying to her... however she really knew how to hurt him each and every time. Plus most of the times they had an argument was her fault. Never knowing what she wanted.
How many episodes where there that ended "Ok", next episdoe: "I'm not sure", next episode: "Let's do it", next episode: "We need more time" ...and so on and on and on...
On top of that I really can't understand why she was so unforgiving with Clark... but then every now and then she find's stuff about Lex (that's WAY worse) and doesn't care that much or buy his lies like nothing.
I really hope she gets what's coming to her... and that PLEASE, Clark doesn't get back with her.
A shame Clark never hooked up wth Chloe (a character the evolved nicely and grew up on me quickly).
PS
I'm also surprised about the amount of violence/blood on the show.
Not because it shouldn't or can't... but because Superman is obviously a children/family character and don't see how aside from the comics WB let's this to be shown on the media.
..especially when they don't even let the movies have a higher rating than PG-13.

I've been a fan of this show since S1. And looking back, it really wasn't that good. S1-3 are filled with freak-of-the-weeks and did not really satisfy much, but it set up for later seasons.
I loved s4. I love jensen, and the season arc with the stone was amazing plus it played on later.
Alot of people say that season 5 saved the show but for me, it killed it. I stopped watching after the highly disappointing 100th episode. It took me a couple weeks and then I started again towards the end of the season, but I was not happy where it was going.
And Season 6 completely killed it for me. Lexana? I seriously Vomited for the Promise episode. I didnt watch anymore of that season, and could not bring myself to watch Season 7...
Then I finally watched all of 7 about a month ago. And it was AMAZING. The show finally came full circle. Evil Lex. Lana and Clark making earthquakes, but then fulfilling the goodbye-ness. It was F'ing AMAZING. And now, I had high hopes for season 8. To finally bring Lex to an arch-nemesis, and bring Clark to Superman. But now, Michael Rosenbaum (lex) is not returning as a regular. I don't know if I can trust them to finish off the series nicely... Sadness.....
