Well maybe I should rephrase myself, I don't hate HISTA. I use to really like, and still find it to be a decent show, but I think it's just outlasted its welcome. Before the 50th anniversary, this show was basically a walk-through since there were NO crowds at all. I haven't been on Stitch's Great Escape yet, so I don't know how "bad" it is, but not only is it newer than HISTA, but it's also MUCH easier to replace HISTA than it is with Stitch.Loomis wrote: I agree that there is too much Hating of the HISTA! It's a great attraction, although ultimately, for Tomorrowland to remain Tomorrowland it needs constant updates. That is the curse of the Land.
However, with all due respect Pals - replacing an attraction with an even older attraction is just not on. Not only is it not in the spirit of Tomorrowland, it isn't even in the spirit of Disneyland's 'never being complete'. That's kind of why I'm in two minds about the Finding Nemo Subs: I loved them as a kid, missed them in 2005, but will ride them again in 2008. Yes, it will be a new attraction, but virtually a re-make of the original Subs. To be true to the spirit of Disneyland, they should have made a completely original use of the space.
As for Captain E.O., actually, I think it could be a great attraction to remake! Just modernize all the effects, and replace Michael Jackson(not sure who with, but as long as he/her doesn't sleep with children, they'd be perfect
) and you'd have a brand new(yet at the same time, old) attraction.
