Well thank goodness you managed to get out of there... I would imagine the restroom attendent making the hourly rounds freed you! And congrats on your award (if I forgot to mention it back on page... uh, well CONGRATULATIONS ANYWAY - WAY TO GO!)

And A BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO AARON on his award for Kindest/Friendliest member of the year! Way to go Aaron!

Three cheers, Uh, I mean "ears" for you: :ears: :ears: :ears:

Hooray for Aaron, a very deserving person to win the kindest member award (everyone else is quite nice too, however :tink:)! And awesome acceptance speech, Pasta. It made me laugh a bit inside. Congrats on the win!

Congratulations, Luke! A look at today's front page update is all it takes to show that this is a much deserved award! Thanks, Spongebob Squarepants (the UD one) for that great speech. As for the other Spongebob... this is a Disney board. Security, please take care of him.

Still to come in this year's ceremony:
*In The Vault: A Look Back At Those Banned In The Last Year
*A stirring tribute to the poster formerly known as Disney Guru and his fallen Guruettes
*Another live musical performance
*And of course, the final 2 awards of the year!

The UD forum lost one of its most cherished members this year, teh one and only Disney Guru. Now, let us all look back on this frequent poster-turned-Secret Santa deadbeat in a solemn memorial.

During these very awards last year, Disney Guru's talented back-up group, the Guruettes, fell victim to a vicious massacre here in Off-Topic Hall. Though he was stunned by the tragedy, he held fast to his mantra: the show. Must go on. He dazzled us all with a live performance of a remarkable song that he penned himself. Sung to the tune of "I walked where Jesus walked" (and this year at a much slower tempo), here is a tribute to that performance:
Disney Guru wrote: The UD Awards Have Finally Come
Everybody Is At The Awards Ceremony
There's Luke with Renata
And is that JM making out with his new girl ?
A truly great event.

They Come, and then they go
They came, but they will leave
They were such a joyful event
But as all good things, this has to come to an end

I saw you sitting there
We sat and enjoyed the awards together
Oh we sat, and saw the awards together
And UD Awards were brilliant
The awards presented were well deserved
But the most important thing was being there

We walked the red carpet where Luke had walked
We sat and watched the awards taking place
2005 Awards, were the best awards yet.

Here's To You Ultimate Disney!
 That was. moving. Just really really, moving.

And now please join Vanessa Williams and John Secada in this rememberance...

If I never Guru-ed
If I never felt this love
I would have no inkling of
How shocking Rosie could be

And if I never Guru-ed
I would never have a clue
How at last I'd find in you
The Guru part of me.

In this world so full of fear
Full of scams and lies
I can see the truth so clear
In your avatar
Oh, that avatar

And I'm so grateful to you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Lost forever
If I never Guru-ed

If I never Guru-ed
I'd be safe but half as gay
Never knowing Doris Day
Had meant so much to you

I'm so grateful to you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Lost forever
If I never Guru-ed

Oh if I never Guru-ed
There's no moment I regret
If I never knew this love
Since the moment that we met
I would have no inkling of
If our time has gone too fast
How shocking Rosie could be...
I've lived at last...

I thought today's actresses were so beautiful
But I soon found out that there is so much more
I never knew the golden ladies of the olden days
You left me with so much more respect for
Magda, Zsa Zsa, and Eva Gabor (Eva Gabor)

And if I never Guru-ed
If I never Guru-ed
I'd have lived my whole life through
Empty as the sky
Never knowing why
Lost forever
If I never Guru-ed

That was absolutely beautiful, Aaron! It's truly a potent way to remember the late, great Guru.

(Did the cameraman leave, yet? Good. That was freaking hilarious, Aaron! Great job!)

Hi

Post by Luke »

That was an awesome tribute, Aaron. It was just, really, really. Awesome. It's too bad that Guru had to go a little psycho, and stiff us twice in Secret Santa, in one year. At least we had his insight and coustom covers for over two years!

Marvelous tribute! I think I can speak for everyone when I say that Guru and his odd/endearing ways will be missed. RIP Doris Day avatars and coustom artworks.

R.I.P. Guru...

Great tribute, Aaron. I agree with Disneykid; that song was hilarious, but at the same time, touching.

Can't wait to see what's next on the agenda!
