Not to take anything away from Aaron, but there was a fair bit of cut n paste work with the user provided "speeches" and the rest were just tallied results.lord-of-sith wrote:And most of all, great job Aaron, you truly worked hard on this.
Still, I suppose it did..erm...something.

As someone who has tallied results and spent much time copying and pasting in the past, I can tell you that these tasks alone can certainly qualify as hard work. When you take into consideration everything else Aaron did to keep us entertained, it's practically colossal! Especially since he's always got a busy schedule too.Loomis wrote:Not to take anything away from Aaron, but there was a fair bit of cut n paste work with the user provided "speeches" and the rest were just tallied results.

Yay, Aaron!

"Fifteen years from now, when people are talking about 3-D, they will talk about the business before 'Monsters vs. Aliens' and the business after 'Monsters vs. Aliens.' It's the line in the sand." - Greg Foster, IMAX chairman and president
Wow I must say this was really fun and Aaron did a great job compiling all of those votes and speeches to make one bitchin presentation!
Great job Aaron!!!
Also congratulations to all the winners even though most of them I didn't vote for.
I guess all that's left to do now is start worrying about the 3rd Annual UD Awards. It's already behind schedule so what are we waiting for? Yeah!!!

Well technically it could be right on time since the first was in June, the second was early in May, and it's only mid-April...Zoltack wrote:I guess all that's left to do now is start worrying about the 3rd Annual UD Awards. It's already behind schedule so what are we waiting for? Yeah!!!

To Aaron and all the presenters, I offer a hearty and sincere thank you for putting all this together. It was great entertainment all around. Thankfully, there were no madmen with guns holding things up this year. That's not to say that there weren't madmen, but they didn't cause any trouble. Loomis' pantslessness must have put them off-balance.
I know that UD's membership has a tendency to like certain types of movies over others, but the results of these awards seems more representative of the general public's opinions than the Oscars or Globes do. We all know that Narnia, Star Wars, and Batman are top-notch films, and it's nice to see them get their due.

Thankfully, all that work resulted in the world being a better place.Luke wrote:As someone who has tallied results and spent much time copying and pasting in the past, I can tell you that these tasks alone can certainly qualify as hard work. Yes, great job, Aaron, and everyone involved. It was quite the awards ceremony!
I can't believe Return of the Sith racked up so many awards! I'm glad. It is a great film.
I'm surprised by some of the television wins. I would have thought that Desperate Housewives and LOST would have picked up the awards in their catagories.
All in all, very exciting. I can't wait until next year. Aaron, your Amy Grant avatar is safe. You came through and saved her!

Exactly, we need to get to work on building our time machine so we can have more time.Escapay wrote:Well technically it could be right on time since the first was in June, the second was early in May, and it's only mid-April...Zoltack wrote:I guess all that's left to do now is start worrying about the 3rd Annual UD Awards. Actually, you can, with the awesome DUOS of DH and GA AND Lost and Invasion.Timon/Pumba fan wrote:You CAN'T beat the awesome duo of The Simpsons and Family Guy!MadonnasManOne wrote:What?! Fox wins for Best Broadcast Network?! Are the voters insane? ABC has Desperate Housewives, LOST, Grey's Anatomy, Boston Legal, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, AFV, and Commander In Chief, just to name a few. How did Fox win over ABC?! I demand a recount!
Cheers,

Thanks, everyone. I'm glad you seem to have enjoyed it. It did take a tremendous amount of time -- more than I had anticipated and probably more than I should have (granted, it's not the most worth-while expenditure of time), but then I don't really need to be reminded of that either.
Can't say that I was pleased with every victory, but I liked most of them and agree that it's refreshing to see some of these fantastic movies have a shot at an award, even if it is just here in Off-Topic Hall.
