Reality TV has come a long way in a short period of time. Proof of that can be found in UD's nominees in the category of Best Reality or Unscripted Television Series. Don't look for bug-eating, rodent-swimming, or roomate-betraying action in these shows. Instead, they highlight a more positive side of the genre: two do-gooding shows are up for the honor along with three more career-oriented series and one that follows the marital adventures of one of America's (and Disney's) favorite (former) couples. The nominees are:

American Idol
America's Next Top Model
The Apprentice
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
Newlyweds Nick & Jessica
Three Wishes

...And the winner is...

American Idol

Here he is again, ladies and gents, the Wonderful Wonderlicious of UD!

Comedy is always there to cheer us up. Even if's there's no money to pay the rent or a house lands on your witch (come on, don't we all have one sitting in the back garden?), a little laugh can make it seem all better. And thanks to the medium of television, comedy is accessable to all in great forms, as you can tell from some of the nominees on our list. We've got...

Scrubs, a wacky exploration into medical care starring Zach Braff, star of Garden State and the voice of Chicken Little.

Reba, which I've never heard of before until now (perhaps it's coz I'm British), but apparently is supposed to be good.

Desperate Housewives, the whimsical and saucy dramedy made and (in the USA) screened by Disney. Complete with a Danny Elfman theme tune!

There's also Family Guy! This is a fun animated series, with fun characters, yet it isn't as good as (in my opinion only, so don't get miffed!) our next nominee...

The Simpsons! This is my personal favourite of these nominees. This is the original modern animated sitcom for an audience greater than families about everyone's favourite yellow family (shown in their Season 8 pre-Shrek Disney stab, SimpsoncalifragilistickexpialiD'OH!cious via the link provided) and their unusual lives and aquaintances. I'm hoping this will win, but we don't just know yet. I'm opening the envelope and can see the winner (well, okay, I'm just getting carried away with something as small as an Internet awards ceromony)...oh my, it's The Simpsons!

Isn't this all so exciting? The Simpsons has just won the award! Wheeeeeee! Okay, I've got too much into writing this silly speech. I need to get to bed. Goodnight.

Wonderlicious, everyone!

Up next, Best TV Drama Series!

I see Madonna running down the aisle on her way back from the bathroom. Just in time! MadonnasManOne is making his way back on the stage! Here he is!:

A family sharing love, laughter, and life in the ficitional city of Glen Oak, California, "7th Heaven", one of the WB's highest-rated series, has been praised for providing high-quality entertainment geared toward the entire family, being named one of the best family-friendly shows on network television by the Parents Television Council.

After crashing on an island in the Pacific, the survivors of Oceanic Air flight 815 must find the strength they never knew they had, in order to survive the mysteries of the island they now inhabit. Currently in its second season, "LOST" continues to win audiences over with its cleverness and intrigue.

Meredith Grey is trying to live a real life, while having a job that makes having that life nearly impossible. She, along with other first-year interns, are now doctors at Seattle Grace Hospital, where they must juggle on the job training that can be life and death, with the complexities of their own personal lives. The ABC series has been an instant hit, and is now in its second season.

These three shows bring love, laughter, intrigue and drama to us every week. They are the nominees for Best Television Drama. And the winner is...

Lost

There are just 10 awards left and the next one, Best Comedy Feature, will be presented after a word from our sponsors!

Here he is one more time, Timon/Pumba fan!

Here, we have the award for best Comedy. These are films that have a main purpose, which is to make us laugh. We've got 2 family films (1 original animated film and 1 live-action film based on a kids book) while we also got two not-so family films. While the other one isn't even 100% comedy, but has some SCI-FI thrown in it's genre. All of these films made us laugh and it was certainly hard to choose the funniest. But after a lot of thought we've come up with the funniest one by most UD member. The nominations for Best Comedy are:

The 40 Year-Old Virgin
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
Wedding Crashers

...And the winner is Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

Best Drama comin' just around the river-bend!

And now to crown the year's Best Drama, please welcome one of UD's most junior members (in age, not tenure!)... James!

A movie is always going to be a challenge to create. Making the characters of it so believable and realistic that the audience relates to it is difficult enough, even in a TV series. A dramatic movie has to, in a convincing and unique way, all in around two hours. Considering that daunting task, Ultimate Disney.com has the privilege to bestow this honour onto one of these nominees:

Batman Begins
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Walk the Line

...And the Best Drama Feature of the Year is...

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

And after the break, we'll turn to 3 of our 4 biggest awards in the category of Television!

Those shows are:

"Commander in Chief"
"Grey's Anatomy"
"Three Wishes"

...And the Best New Show is...

Gregory Smith ("Everwood")
Matthew Fox ("Lost")
Treat Williams ("Everwood")

Without further ado, the Ultimate Disney.com’s First Annual Award for Best Actor in a TV Series goes to (opening envelope nervously) –

To present our next 3 consecutive awards, please welcome back to the stage, Zoltack!

There are many important aspects in a movie that make it great: good acting, costumes, special effects and a well thought out plot. Of course these are all important in creating a movie and making it terrific but the most important aspect which some of us take for granted is the directing. With out any direction the movie would be in total chaos and it would not be enjoyable. A creative mind is needed to stop the chaos, make the movie flow smoothly and most importantly make it enjoyable. We have seen many great directors though out the year of 2005 willing to stand against the challenge of entertaining society. However, there is only one who is the best. The nominees for Best Director are...

Andrew Adamson, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
Christopher Nolan, Batman Begins
George Lucas, Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Mike Newell, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Tim Burton, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Tim Burton, Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride

And the winner is...

Andrew Adamson, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
• Author of Hocus Pocus in Focus: The Thinking Fan's Guide to Disney's Halloween Classic

Zoltack: Great acting in a movie is very important. If the movie has bad acting it becomes dull, boring and asinine. Movies with the best actors and actresses are usually the ones we remember and keep in our hearts forever. The year 2005 has had its fair share of great actors and actresses but only one stands out among the rest as the best. The nominees for Best Actor are..

Christian Bale, Batman Begins
Daniel Radcliffe, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Joaquin Phoenix, Walk the Line
Johnny Depp, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Steve Carell, The 40 Year Old Virgin

The nominees for Best Actress are...

Emma Watson, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Naomi Watts, King Kong
Reese Witherspoon, Walk the Line

And the winners are....

Christian Bale for Batman Begins

and

Reese Witherspoon for Walk the Line

Now stay tuned for the presentation of our 2 biggest awards!

One last time, to give us our final and biggest Television award of the night, please give it up for MadonnasMan!

MM1: *sings: The show is over, say goodbye...
Aaron: No! Not Yet!
MM1: Huh?
Aaron: You have an award to present!
MM1: I do?
Aaron: Yeah, it's kind of a big one
MM1: Oh, ah. Yes. Quite right...

MM1: Desperate women, looking for love, looking for peace, looking for happiness, and looking for a way out. Through it all, they are there for each other. Wysteria Lane is full of families, friends, and mysteries. Into their lives we see, watching with baited breath, and wonder what will happen next on "Desperate Housewives"

Out of the blackness, into the burning sun. A Bamboo forest. Smoke. Screams. With a rush comes the realization that the plane they were on was torn apart in mid-air and crashed on a Pacific island. Stripped of everything, those remaining must scavenge what they can and band together, if they want to survive in "Lost".

Before he was a legend, before he was an icon, he was a teenager named Clark Kent. Someday, he will master his powers and understand his true calling. Between the boy he was and the man he will become, the stories of "Smallville" are told.

These three series are watched by millions, and have found their way into our hearts. These are the nominees for Best Television Series.

And... the Best TV Show is....

....

...

"SMALLVILLE"

Aaron - is there any way I can get you to bribe someone to get me out of this holding cell again so I can go to the after-party?

I really want to meet Homer Simpon.

I'm afraid the FCC is already being flooded with complaints after your pantsless stint on stage. I don't think I can't get you out of this one! If only we still had the cunning of Disney Guru as a resource. Perhaps MMP will be along shortly to see what he can do.

And now... it's the moment you've all been waiting for!

Here to present our final award -- Best Film of the Year -- it's (who else?) LUKE!

Every year when awards shows demand our attentions, the great popular/artistic divide enters minds, consciously or not. Clearly, all five of our nominees are popular, each having grossed over $200 million
domestically. Altogether, these nominated films have earned $3.25 billion around the globe. Would the public really invest that much money in something they don't believe in? This is a question that ought to be answered. As for other relevant questions, they have been asked. I quote, "What is art? Is art art? Are we art?" So pondered the great Lisa Turtle.

The five nominated films all captivated with tales that, beyond the CGI and flashy cinematography, dealt with basic elements of human nature. Children good and bad discovering things good and bad in foreign lands and responding accordingly. That statement can be applied to "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", the Star Wars prequels trilogy, "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe", and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." And the fifth film, "Batman Begins", was adapted from comics, which have on occasion, dealt with the good, the bad, and the foreign lands.

Which one did it best? Your winner is...

And that brings our show to a close. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners, and many thanks to all of those who nominated, voted, presented, and provided feedback, banter, and red-carpet exclusives. As they say on The Great Movie Ride, "I hope you've enjoyed this journey into the movies." (We'll add TV onto that too). Drive home safely!

Great job, Aaron! This was a lot of fun. I look forward to the complete winners list that someone will compile for my reading pleasure! :D

Wow! What a surprise!

I actually voted for Batman Begins, even though I kinda liked Star Wars better, I thought Harry Potter would have an advantage! Turned out I was wrong, it didn't even get an award!

Anyway GREAT job Aaron! You certainly put time into this and I'm really happy with most of the winners! I appreciate your hard work and hopefully, we'll see it again next year.

BTW, sorry for the spelling errors in my speeches! I was never to good at proof-reading! Oh well, I think the people who actually read the speeches managed! :P

Anyway to sum it up like Jack did last year and provide posters of the movies that won, in order in the amount of awards they won(I'm skipping t.v. shows :P, someone else can do that):

Image9 Awards: Best Drama, Best Director, Best Supporting Actress, Best Set-Design, Best Make-Up, Best Costumes, Best Original Song, Best Cinematography, Best Adaption from a Book

Image8 Awards: Best Original Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor, Best Editing, Best Sound, Best Sound Effects, Best Score, Best Visual Effects, Best Theatrical Sequel

OH MY GOD! Smallville won! I hate that show.
Anyway, great ceremony Aaron. Fun to read the very cliched opening! :P
