Oh shut up mickeymouse boy. You knew damn well what was going to be on those disc and what version of the film was going to be on it. It's been the topic of discussion on these boards prior to the release. Regardless, why did you buy the same DVD twice? The gift set gives you the DVD plus the extra stuff, so why go and buy the DVD again? You're also full of crap in saying you would have not gotten either if you "knew". You know you would have bought the DVD regardless because the minor changes wouldn't even deter you from having the film on DVD.

I paid around 45 Canadian dollars for the gift set.

Mine was $43. $38 with the $5 rebate the store was offering. Sadly, I had to shop around for that price, too, and that was the best I could find.

Wal-Mart had a gift set for $40, and the lady who helped me find it said there was no way she would pay that much for an animated film. She was extremely rude. I really had to bite my tongue to keep from telling her that if there is any movie that deserves a $40 price, it would be a Disney movie for the simple reason that there is so much that goes into the making of just one, underappreciated film.

But, obviously, I have spent much more on an animated film so maybe I'm biased. :P

Please cool it, rnrlesnar and MickeyMouseBoy. Or take it to e-mail or something. Throwing around insults at one another is not cool.

Well, are you sitting down? It's a long-ish story.

I paid £29.99 including shipping for the US gift set (which works out to around £46 - a little more than I would have paid to import from Amazon.Com, but I it was posted in the UK, meaning I was guarenteed not to get any import duty or customs charges added.

I will also pay 40 euros (about $40) for the French set with the soundtrack CD (it is likely the soundtrack will be French singing, which is cool - I have most of the songs on CD already)

Lastly I'll be paying £17 ($26) for the UK DVD release from Amazon.co.uk with the free Simba soft toy. I was tempted to cancel this and buy the UK Gift Pack, until I saw how poor it was (although I would be interested in seeing the book from the UK set).
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

What part of "cool it" isn't understood? Insulting through Disney phrases is still insulting. Seriously, both of you, you're obviously not going to agree, so a discussion seems futile but you don't have to waste time attacking each other in place of attacking each other's argument.

I paid 19.99 for the regular 2 disc set. Haven't watched it yet, but will do either tonight or tomorrow.

As for the fighting, why is it that when i go away the mice will play????

$14.99 at Toys R Us using a CC pricematch. They wouldn't pricematch AND do the 2nd Disney dvd for $5 so I chose the lower price since the only Disney dvd that they had (not counting cheapquels) was Bionicle & I wasn't about to pay $19.99 + $5 for a blind purchase. It actually cost nothing since I used gift certificates earned with my Chase Toys R Us Visa card. I have about $120 more in certificates to use so Toys R Us will be my store of choice for most dvds (that are in an ad to pricematch). The GCs also cut out tax.

It's ok. He didn't mind paying the extra $6.95 for shipping from DisneyStore.com. :) He's cool.
